They were not straight so I asked for a refund and the dentist Joby Collins was really mean to me and said I was childish all because I asked for a refund. I first asked for better teeth and he had a attitude and said he didn't have time for me and that he was only worried about the patients that liked his work. He was always nice to me up until the day I didn't want to accept my teeth that were not straight. He said it was me and he wasn't going to take part for his. The women up front were really nice to me and understanding of the situation. They couldn't believe the way he had treated me. I don't believe I deserved to be yelled at and purposely made to feel embarrassed simply because I didn't like the way the teeth turned out. I gave the dentist two chances to get the teeth right, which is more than enough chances to get them right. All Mr. Collins had to do was listen and take the issues I had into account and fix them. But instead he lost his temper with me and called me names. He wouldn't even let me talk or get a word in edgewise. He made me feel very small and insignificant. He made it very clear that ot was his way or no way at all. Before today I had nothing but good things to say about him, but now that he's shown his true colors I think none to kindly of him. read more

Dr Collins was very nice and pleasant. Rachel, the support staff, was very defensive when I asked her about the three page quote for work that they said needed to be done. She included a $139 Toothbrush that I never asked for? It was kind of a tell when she got defensive. I wonder if she gets commission? Bottom line is I called their home office in NY and they got defensive as well! Its sad that you cant ask questions without people getting anxious. One last point that irritated me was Rachel asked to see the quote from their competitor down the road. I thought that was tacky and rude. I have never been told that I have parodontal disease. A parodontal cleaning cost a lot more than a normal cleaning. My dental insurance covers a normal dental cleaning. I heard the dentist telling several patients that they needed dental services that were unbelievably priced. Please go to a reputable dentist service. Not sure I trust them. Told my spouse and I in separate appointments that we both had periodontal disease and both needed over $2000 of work done ($4k total) including cavity fillings and crowns. Our previous dentist never said we needed any of this. We have always had regular cleanings and maintain our teeth. The thing is, they could be right about the periodontal but I got the feeling it was all about the money for them and that leaves me unsure. They got defensive when I asked them just to schedule a regular cleaning (what my insurance pays for) saying it was not in my "treatment plan". They also quoted my 17 yr old's wisdom teeth surgery at $600 more than what another respected practice quoted. I'm very disappointed. read more

August '17 I went. The lure is the free x-ray and exam. Afterwards comes the scare tactics and pressure for unnecessary treatment plans. And the deceptive billing. Let's talk about the deceit. I was told I had gum disease and that the hygienist could get me in that day for a cleaning. Sufficiently frightened about the state of my mouth, I paid upfront for the work (no insurance at the time); the *work* turned out to be careless at best. Hygienist spent little time in my mouth because (I later learned) she really didn't have anything to remove. Afterwards, when I looked at the line items and specific charges, I had been charged for something called root planing. The internets suggests this requires local anesthesia. Did I get that? Nope! The hygienist DID NOT do any root planing; she barely did any scaling, and ignored my wisdom teeth. At the end when she took the floss to go between my teeth, she didn't even get down between my teeth. It was cartoonishly poor work. The dentist claimed I had two cavities and when pressed (I asked where? which teeth?) she couldn't tell me specifically or point them out on the xray and claimed they were "really small." But put so much urgency on having them filled because they would "only get worse." They put together a plan for me to have all 4 wisdom teeth removed, even though the dentist wasn't even claiming the cavities were on the wisdom teeth. I declined further "procedures" because I was already out of hundreds for the so-called "deep cleaning" which turned out to be nothing. Just money-hungry liars. Fast forward to May '18. I went to the fantastic Adair Dental in Memphis. Miraculously, this dentist found NO DECAY and looked totally puzzled and perplexed when I told her the Aspen dentist claimed to see two cavities. She encouraged me to keep my wisdom teeth because I had "plenty" room and they don't cause me any problems. The hygienist was reasonable, explaining exactly where I had a couple of deep gum pockets and said it was just something to watch and monitor, encouraged me to step up flossing. No scare tactics. No pressure on more costly procedures. A radical departure from the con artists at Aspen Dental. Don't let them charge you for the expensive electronic toothbrush, oral rinse, and fluoride gel. It's not worth it. Don't get fooled like me by not knowing the difference between Prophylaxis and Scaling. If I had it to do over, I would press them to explain and JUSTIFY each and every line item. Of course, as the earlier reviewer indicated, they are likely to get defensive. read more

Stay away! This is a poorly business. They "lost" my wife's appointment, not once, but twice! Then on the third time, they added three hours of wait time. We were never even able to see a dentist! The staff was always friendly and kind. However I'm rating it this low due to them claiming I owed money and saying it went into collections, when I have constantly checked my credit report and never seen anything in collections. Also I was never notified of any balances as well. It was three years before finding out I owed anything since I moved out of state and used one of their Florida locations to get emergency dental work. The lack of communication is a huge let down considering how much I have spent there and how many times I have visited the location. I'm not sure if there was an error and they never notified me of an owed balance or if it was an insurance issue, but I should have been made aware at one point. Luckily it never went to collections like the claimed it did and messed up my credit score, which leads me to believe it is an error on their end. I'd use a different dentist, a location that has better communication and honesty. Hopefully after a couple weeks they resolve my issue and figure out how all of a sudden I owed money. read more

SCAM from start to finish. I WISH I HAD read YELP BEFORE going for initial exam. They are trying to bill me for over $1000, after insurance! The exam and x-rays were "free", but they nail you in MANY WAYS. - Charging for services NOT provided fully. - Fraudulent BILLING Practices. - They don't tell you your fees/charges til AFTER everything is done. - Pressure SALES TACTICS to get you to buy stuff "needed/required" like $135 electric toothbrush, mouth rinse, etc. ** NEW ONE: On my first bill, I paid over $500. 30 days later they said my Insurance Co would not pay another $500 as they had "Estimated". So it's $1000 now for 2 hours TOPS of work. They know VERY WELL how much YOUR SPECIFIC dental insurance co will pay, but they OVER ESTIMATE the payment to make it look like (1) the charge must be legitimate if the insurance co pays it, right???, and (2) it makes it look like YOUR part of charges will be much less!!! THEN 1-2 months later, they send you another bill for ANOTHER $500 +. DON'T TRUST REVIEWS FROM ASPEN WEBSITE!!!! I cancelled the other work I had planned there. The Sales/Billing people are TRAINED slick con artist, trained in NY Main office, or somewhere. They use similar tactics to used car dealers who have been sued, ILLEGAL practices, and it will catch up with them! read more

Arrived 15 mins early for my 12:00 appointment, didn't actually get seen until 12:30. The new X-Ray tech that was in training couldn't figure out what she was doing, took 3 different techs to just standard X-rays. Extremely painful. Finally get in the consult room and the tech tells me my gums were a little swollen well you do say after y'all been poking and probing around in my mouth with hard plastic cameras for the last 30 minutes. Then the techs up and leave I'm sitting here and additional 45 mins waiting on the actual dentist. I can't strongly enough stress to stay as far away from this company as possible. I took my daughter there for her annual checkup and cleaning. The whole time there I had a bad feeling that they were one of those Corporate Dentistry types that don't actually have quality patient care. Since we were new to the area I decided to wait and see if my suspicions were wrong. My older daughter broke her wisdom tooth a couple days ago. I told her to go to see them since they have a free exam and xrays for patients that have no insurance. She has been in agony for two days with the pain of this tooth. To my surprise they sent her home with a prescription for antibiotics and pain killers. Told her to come back in 9 days to have the tooth removed because they don't have any time to do the removal before then. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. That a place that has on their own recording that they see emergencies and will do what it takes to keep their patients well would be so blind to a persons pain, and allow someone to live with an exposed nerve from a tooth for over a week. I have worked in Veterinary medicine for over 30 years and can tell you we would never let an animal remain in this kind of pain for even half that time. I phoned to their office to speak with their Manager. What a joke, she went up one side and down the other on why they could not extract my daughters tooth earlier then 9 days. First it was infection. I asked does your location not do antibiotic injections? The response was yes they do. The next was there wasn't an available appointment prior to the 9 days. I asked is there a reason you can't request another client that is having a basic or yearly screening to bump their appointment for an emergency? The Managers response was you actually want me to ask someone to move their appointment? Yes, I would do it if someone called and asked me by far. Did I mention that during this whole conversation this "Manager" was discussing my daughters appointment, what the doctor said, what the x-rays showed, about the antibiotics and pain medications. My daughter only listed me to contact in case of emergency and this woman completely violated HIPPA laws. This is a serious violation and should not be taken lightly.
