I'm sure there are probably worse companies in the world but it's shocking how little this company cares about the houses they build or their customers. I unfortunately purchased an aspen view home and found afterwards a major construction defect in the central air system that's so bad I have to literally shut the system down at night and run space heaters in my house in the winter and fans in the summer. There is non stop clanging, pinging, popping and banging noises anytime the system runs. Since the home was still under warranty I asked the builder for help, they came out and literally cut several holes in my ceiling and tried shifting the air ducts around, then finally gave up and never patched up the holes or fixed the problem. I cannot recommend staying away from this company enough. DO NOT BUY AN ASPEN VIEW HOME!!! read more

I purchased a new Aspen View Home in October 2018. The first problem I had was the roof leaked in February 2021 and dripped into one of the bedrooms, ruining my drywall. The roofer said that the flashing was done incorrectly, and that Aspen View should have caught it. I paid for the repairs out of pocket. The latest problem I've had was the electrical wire broke in two places under the driveway, leaving me with electricity in only half the house in August 2021. After waiting 4 days for Aspen View to call me, they said that my warranty had expired and they weren't responsible for the repair. Swartz Electric had a new trench dug completely under the driveway and then they ran new wires in the trench. They said the damage was done in construction. A 2 1/2 year old house should not lose electricity! The wiring was expected to last 40 years. I took Aspen View to Small Claims Court in March, and after reviewing all of the evidence, the judge awarded me the Money Judgement. I am still waiting for Aspen View to pay the Judgement. I am 72, a retired school counselor, and this $6,750 had to come out of my meager savings. What I thought was an upstanding company has turned out to be quite the opposite. Their lack of attention to detail has cost me both the roof repair and the electrical repair. I would NOT recommend this company. read more

Love our home. However things that were supposed to be done by closing were not done and they were left scrabbling to get the items we needed to close done. Their finance incentive if you use preferred lender/broker is a joke. Although there is an incentive, if you use their preferred lender, the interest rates are actually higher then if you use your own. So you have to choose if you want an incentive or lower interest rate on mortgage long term. Also the owner/manager for Colorado is married to women that works for the preferred lender. read more

Very good sales people. The in person warranty people are very personable. . That's about it. Every thing else is deplorable. The contractors that built the homes didn't care about anything but a quick dollar. You spend a half a million dollars plus on a brand new home you would think it would be built better than a 1970s mobile home. . I've held off writing a negative review to give them the opportunity to take ownership of their problems. They refuse to do the right thing. . Problems in less than 2 years of ownership, most of which were/are out of a one year warranty. - Loose siding - Siding being blown off in the wind - Front lawn was not leveled/graded before sod so there are deep undulations as well as a depression that doesn't drain to the street. Because the subsoil is clay, the water pools there. You can't get an even mow because of the ruts & high points as well. - Samsung appliances... they should stick to phones. Stove & fridge broke & the stove broke again just after repair... but also, now, outside of warranty. The repair wasn't warrantied so it's only there to give the appearance of a kitchen. - Dozens of nails shot through the sheathing, missing the studs. This is easily visible in the garage. If it looks that bad where it's plainly visible - what does the rest of the house look like? - The fence came with holes & missing sections (like pieces were cut off the top below the trim). "I dunno" is the the basic response. - The gate was not hung properly & has torn away from the mounting location. Easy-ish fix - but should I really have to be doing that. - Upstairs shower leaked water through the wall & exited on the first floor - Roofing contractor left exposed & unsealed nail heads - Upstairs subfloor not secured properly... pops in specific places every time you walk over it - Shower bench not caulked properly & let moisture into wall. Repair was done incorrectly. I had to remove the bench, scrape out all the caulk & redo it. Correctly. - Concrete pad in the back & the front walkway have been undercut/washed out from material underneath. - Neighbors gutter run-off is directed right at our yard... keeping it thoroughly saturated all summer & a good portion of the winter. - Exterior trim was apparently installed by an apprentice during his first week on the job & that work was not checked by the boss. (more likely the boss did it & didn't care). If you like to gamble - make sure you know your contract inside & out. Don't give them any leeway. Get a quality inspection company to inspect the house. Plan on spending at least several thousand if not a few 10s of thousands fixing their issues (& that is if you can do the majority yourself - I would hate to see how much my diy repairs would have cost if I had to pay for it). I had never bought a new build before. Thinking that with modern construction techniques & consumer protection laws it should be a safe bet. We were in a situation that required us to move quickly & the new build process was far faster than a bidding war & being dragged around by a realtor. I should have bought something 20+ years old that has had all the issues repaired. I have owned more than a couple homes before this & I have had to do more repairs (out of warranty) in less than 2 years on this home than I have had to do on any 2 of my previous homes combined. I just wanted to put it out there, if you are considering purchasing a new home...do NOT purchase from Aspen View Homes. Their lack of interest with issues after you close on the home is really concerning....they don't take responsibility for the work of contractors they hire. For instance, a drip line of my neighbors is on my side....and was probably laid there before fence was put up (which was after closing) is our problem. Proper level of dirt for sod wasn't put down before sod, again, after closing....that's our problem that sod died. They rush you during your final walk through to get you to your closing appointment on the other side of Colorado Springs...so if you miss stuff that is supposed to be fix (closet doors that had blue tape on them in 2 bedrooms) will have to wait until your annual fix. I can continue on and on.......sad...you spend good money on a home and the general contractor doesn't give a crap.... Everything is a battle and your requests, you have to constantly follow up on....hoping you would let it slide? read more

EMERGENCY LINE! Had an emergency - drains backing up upstairs, toilets not flushing, sewage coming up in my bathtub, leaking from my ceiling into my kitchen which now I have water damage across my ceiling and guess what...couldn't even return a phone call to me or Roto Rooter (who Aspen View warranty) called. Brittney couldn't take the time out of her busy day (who apparently was on call) to give the homeowner a call or approve them to complete the work. We are under warranty and as of right now possibly up to $692 in repairs and that's not including the repair to my kitchen celling. BEWARE of this builder folks, craftmanship is crappy and warranty in the office doesn't feel it necessary to communicate. I want to just give you all the bird accept (1) person and HE knows who he is. WORST BUILDER EVER!!!! So the saga continues. 3 different Roto Rooter employees have all said the same thing "This doesn't typically happen on a home this new!" "I have been to multiple homes in this area with this issue - construction debris left in the sewer line." Since Roto Rooter fixed the blockage but couldn't see exactly what was blocking. Nothing out of the ordinary (waste and TP - that's it). Well Ted from Aspen View came back and said "Sorry - we are not fixing the ceiling of your new home due to water damage - you can call your insurance!" This is the 2nd time in less than a year that I have to do an insurance claim. This is BS! My rates go up, I get canceled - thanks a bunch! Wish I had NEVER bought here and I hope and pray that someone sues you all. You are all LIARS - from the top down - YOU ARE HORRIBLE PEOPLE and take a persons dream to own a home and turn it into a nightmare. Don't buy here - another bit - if your sidewalk, curb or gutters crack or get damaged - apparently it is the homeowners responsibility. Great walkthrough and closing experience. I would highly recommend Aspen View when considering building a 5 month update: House is great. Roof survived the recent "Bomb Cyclone". Some of our neighbors weren't so lucky. We recently put our fence in and had to submit a warranty issue to remark our property lines. No issues. They came out in a few days. AVOID AT ALL COSTS These builders at Aspen View are under a lot of pressure to build homes as quickly as possible. They are a scam. The homes are made of inferior materials, and they are put together like trailers. When I bought the home and was about to move in, the countertops weren't finished, and the outlets weren't covered. They left the home a mess when they handed it over to me. They had to paint doors multiple times due to damage, had to fix grout in the countertop, and had a MAJOR electrical wiring problem, the electrician said the house had serious issues with fault wiring. Recently, I had an air conditioning system installed. It was the proper size for the house, but hardly any air was flowing through the house. The HVAC tech said that the house had the worst duct work design he had ever seen, and has been doing it for a long time. So basically, I wasted $4400 on an air conditioning system that doesn't work. It has taken over 4 months to get my flooring fixed and recently I noticed our Kitchen sink was leaking. I looked under it and discovered BLACK MOLD. We are 17 days out of our year warranty and aspen view is refusing to fix the mold problem. We have our flooring scheduled to be finished this week but who knows if they will even show up as i've scheduled with them 5 times before and know one showed. read more

Avoid these guys like the plague their homes are dangerous! My furnace almost started a fire due to Aspen View Home's failure to do the job in a workmanlike manner. I still have no heat, and Jennifer Cooper, their customer care manager is refusing to honor the warranty and not responding to my messages. This is unacceptable, Aspen View Homes could have killed me and they are refusing to make things right. We had a great experience with Aspen View Homes. Our house has been almost perfect since closing, with only minor issues that have popped up which were resolved quickly. I see a lot of people complaining about HOA things that they "didn't know about" but they give you the HOA docs at contract signing and will provide anyone a copy before that if you ask. Not knowing something because you didn't bother to ask or because you didn't bother to read it is your own fault. You can have sheds they just have to be approved by the HOA which approves just about anything that doesn't clash with the color of your house. read more

The absolute hands down best home builder, not only in Colorado, but I'd say the country. This company has it all. The best customer service bar none. From the very first experience with the sales manager, in my case Lauren Hanshaw. Continuing seamlessly with PenTrust and Sommer Hart who are I'm my opinion, the best in the field of financing a mortgage and excellent customer service as well. The superintendents at our site, Mitch Griffin and Jack Costa have a superb work ethic and incredibly high standards not only for all the workers under their supervision, but for themselves as well. They both can bee seen on a daily basis at The Courtyards in Falcon, Colorado working on the construction sites along side the tradesmen, sweeping the dirt from the streets, shoveling snow, and picking up any and all trash and used materials at the site currently under construction to ensure the safety of everyone working the site. I always saw them on site whenever we visited our home when under construction. What I didn't know was that this was not an unusual occurrence. Since we have moved into our lovely home, we see them daily. They are often the first to arrive on site and usually the last to leave because they are going over the entire site to make sure it is clean, clutter free, safe and prepared for the next day. In this day and age who in a supervisory position does that? EVERYONE who works for Aspen View Homes does Exactly That! And, I am Not being paid to say these things, lol. My husband spent 22 years in the Air Force working in the construction field. He was so impressed by the quality of the workmanship put into every home, he was speechless. Probably the lowest-ranked builder in the Springs, and their build quality and attention to detail are absolutely offensive -so they warrant their low rank. I know, most every builder uses the same sorts of crews, but there are inspections, quality of service, quality of work and people who will review builds and get things right, and I cannot believe Aspenview has any sort of quality control going on. I live in a new development that is less than 4 years old, and our community Facebook is riddled with problem after problem from this builder. Poor drainage causing feet of water at sliding doors. The worst layout/plan I have ever seen in a community (Shiloh Mesa). Exterior trim not being finished. Roofs showing metal flashing by the inch. Incorrectly built exhausts. Shower walls that capture moisture and ruin the interior behind the tiling. Whomever they contracted to do the kitchen sinks used the worst possible faucets money could buy, so many have leaked. Wood steps out the sliding glass door that are more frail and as useless as that Joe Biden moron. Loud houses. There's zero interior insulation and turning on a shower in one room sounds like a herd of buffalo running in the other. I mean, these houses could not possibly be built any cheaper and more flimsy. Almost 4 years later and I still have issues they never fixed despite being marked during my final walkthrough. If there is a worse builder in the Springs, I cannot imagine how that's possible. Avoid this company at all costs. Get it? At all costs, because it will cost more to get a well-built house? hah! I'm a riot. read more

These guys are not the best builders and have absolutely no quality control. There are so many things wrong with our house it's ridiculous. Unfortunately we were strapped for time because of having to move because of a new job and overlooked/didn't see these problems. Everything from the granite countertops not being installed properly to the fan in our master bedroom being to close to the ceiling. I could go on and on about all the problems with our home but the overall impression I want to give is that these fools are only interested in making a dollar and that they either don't care or don't have a clue about making sure the homes they build are built properly. read more

Wow! Not only did we have problems with building our home the warranty issues and getting them fixed were a challenge. Now 2 years later we find they didn't install the cabinets correctly, we have water damage at and around the back door on the inside of the house plus a couple more big issues in how they put the house together. If your going to build a home, I do not recommend going through aspen view homes. My husband and I have never been treated with such dishonesty. We were told once we put our thousand down, it locks us into the lot that we chose, we even signed papers. They stole it right out from under us and went into contract with someone else. Then they said they could make it right by giving us another lot, that was a lie too. We are hurt by the lack of integrity of this builder. JUST SAY NO. We had our house built in 2016-2017 time frame. The sales person was a moron who lied to us, from the park being built in the neighborhood (no park) to the "walking trail" that was supposed to be behind our home. We were contacted at the last second to pick out a countertop color because the laundry room had a countertop that they didn't know about, so it was too late to upgrade to granite. We had specifically wanted granite throughout the entire house, but the salesman had so little knowledge that it became a last minute settle. The beams for the coffered ceiling in the living room were crooked. The gas water heater kept going out because the vent was placed wrong. The master deck railing detached from the house the second week we were there. The yard was graded incorrectly, resulting in Aspen View tearing out our fence that we were building. At least they fixed that at no charge. Our gorgeous island had a huge seam through the middle of it that was very noticeable, but "couldn't be helped". The carpet wasn't stretched properly. There were beer cans all over during the building of our home. We should have walked and let them keep our earnest money. I could list so many more problems, but I don't think Yelp will let me write that long of a review. Thank God we were able to get out from under our home a year after we built it. read more

The process started off great. We chose a lot, chose our finishes and moved in. The developer did not Install mailboxes for over three months . This is annoying and wastes time waiting an hour at the post office a few times a week. Then... The letters started arriving at everyone's home. NO SHEDS allowed in the entire neighborhood. We just spent 2k on a shed. Perhaps they think we should keep our lawn mower, chain saw and snow blower in the kitchen! No bird baths , no trampolines, only certain trees and bushes allowed and on and on. 25 pages of " Covenants" that absolutely no one has been told about. Con artists hid this from all of us. They are so worried about selling more homes that we can't get mail, Internet or tv for 3 months but they're worried about every detail in our yards. Find another place to live and don't deal with these jerks. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! Worst builder I've ever dealt with from the beginning to the end of our new build. This is the 4th home I've had built and I have never had the issues I have with Aspenview. Worst quality of workmanship I have ever encountered. Excuses for poor workmanship and lack of oversight from construction supervisors. High staff turn over. Promises from salesmen never met. Was not notified when our outlets were to be placed as promised. Had to change our stucco color last minute because they gave the neighbor the color we already picked way in advance. Oh, they were sorry.. we had to push back our close date a week because things weren't corrected as promised during walk through. And they still weren't corrected on the second close date. They said it would be covered in the warranty.. When I said I wasn't going to close I was treated rudely and told they would just cancel the whole contract and I would lose my earnest money. Worst mistake I ever made to close after all of this. The only reason I did was because we were living with family cramped in a house for 3 months while they finished our house and I didn't want to lose my interest rate. They were running behind by the way. Finally, it took months for them to fix the warranty issues which included several significant cracks in the wall, cracked and lifting bathroom tile, collapsed concrete step, discoloration to concrete patio because they screwed up and poured it wrong and when they repoured the messed up part the cement was discolored. I was told in time it would fade and after a year and a half it has not.. Water heater valve leaked and left us with a flooded utility room which leaked into my sons room baseboards and wall but of course this didn't happen until after the warranty period ended so it wasn't covered. The list goes on and on. I wish I had read more reviews before I chose aspenview. Hopefully this review will save future home buyers a lot of time, energy, frustration and money. read more

If I could choose no stars, I absolutely would and I will continue spreading the word of disappointment where ever I can!! This builder has been absolutely horrible!!!!!! We moved into our home in October of 2017. Since then, we have encountered a multitude of problems that they have been less than accommodating about fixing. We live in Severance CO in the Hidden Valley Farms subdivision and although we enjoy our area, the house is terrible quality and we understood we would have occasional (small) issues with a new build. But come on, for a $460k house it should no doubt be a well built house. The list of things that have not gone wrong would be shorter, however I feel as though we should just go ahead and list some of the issues so that no one else falls into their trap. Ted, the Warranty manager, is extremely disrespectful and although we enjoyed our encounters with Rudy, Alex and Brandon, I could absolutely do without Ted. We are currently dealing with a major problem which is due to a defect of the builder and they are unwilling to fix it or even come look at it. Here is a small list of the dangerous issues we have had with them: 1. Our banister that overlooks our entry way gave way with our 4 year old nephew LEANING against it behind a chair while playing hide and seek. He was holding on by one arm screaming and almost fell 10 feet!! Not only did it take them 3 weeks to repair a 10 foot drop hole in our banister, they only fixed that one little couple foot section. The other sides are loose as well and could give out the same way. They aren't even nailed in! 2. Their answer for fixing anything and everything is with caulk. We have 6+" gaps of caulk all over our home because instead of putting our trim on properly they would rather just caulk the large gap from warping, etc. 3. October 2017 was move in and we still have warped and bubbled wood floors that have been on warranty request the entire time. 4. Our driveway is at the maximum 20% grade and is halfway not even textured. Please do not try to come up the driveway in bad weather if you ever want to visit. You must walk through the uneven grass. We have already had UPS, FedEx and our family members fall on the driveway but it does make a fantastic sledding hill for all the neighbor kids to enjoy. 5. Our most current issue began on Saturday when our daughters closet ceiling started pouring water. Upon climbing up into our attic to find out why, we saw that we are missing an entire piece of siding (by builders fault) not missing because of wind, weather, etc. Not only is there snow/ice in there but the Robin we saw last year up near that ledge apparently lives in there. We assumed the Robin had a nest on the ledge but turns out it has been living and pooping all over our insulation in our attic this entire time. Who knows how long it and all the moisture has been in there but even so, they are unwilling to fix it. We were told on Saturday by the emergency warranty service that this would be covered under warranty because it is a builders default. We received an email from Ted saying our 2 year warranty was up even though we moved in October of 2017???? We had to move our daughter into the spare bedroom for when the ceiling gives way and any mold appears. 6. Our floor boards are separating so much that we can stub our toes on them. The list could go on for days, but I will spare you the trouble of having to read anymore. I could even list all the issues our poor neighbors have had and you all would be amazed. No wonder there is no where else to leave a review for this company, they don't want all of the bad words out there. Please do not buy a Horizon View home... read more

We originally looked at Aspen View Homes back in the summer of last year and worked with Kristine Royer, who was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Although we ended up making a decision to purchase with another builder and community at the time, a month later after experiencing some issues and doubts, we reached out once again to Kristine and Aspen View where we located our current home. I don't believe it's possible to have a home built without experiencing a few issues but it is very important to have someone like Kristine who is expeditious about addressing and resolving them to the home owners satisfaction, which was our experience. We are happy to be in our home and appreciate Aspen View's continued involvement in bringing the neighbors together in an effort to create and sustain a strong community of families. read more

For anyone interested in building or buying a home from Aspen View, DONT!!! They are the worst to work with. They're sales rep was terrible, by not being professional enough and always telling us no, on our requests without even checking with contractors. Then when we noticed things weren't getting installed in our house, (i.e medicine cabinets, linen closets, pendant lights) we pointed them out to them. If we would have never caught these things, they never would've been in the house. They agreed on in our contract, certain criteria can be met and then months later being told that it is actually not realistic. We picked out our countertops months in advance, to only come back within a few days they're to be installed, that they are no longer able to do those countertopsand we had less than a day to pick new ones. Our house was never even finished when we moved in and signed our closing contract, with promises they would have warranty take care of it. We've had to deal with multiple different warranty guys that said they're going to come out and fix things only to not come out when the day has come and pass with no phone call, no reschedule, or anything. Do not use this company! They have no regard for their customers. During an unannounced visit by my wife and I the day before closing, we spoke with the superintendent, who told us our house had "fell off the map" as him and workers were scrambling to get things done, and like I stated before, were still not complete by move in.
