Was referred to SRO by my St. Luke's doctor. I had been experiencing back and leg pain eminating…read morefrom my spine for many months. No injury cause, just getting older (67). Saw Dr. Paul Chin, originally diagnosed as labral tear, did PT and Chiropractic, no improvement. MRI revealed spinal isues, referred to Dr. Edmund Choi. More PT and Chiro and recommended Hemilamenectomy. No improvement, elected for surgery March 2024. Dr. Choi supposedly performed the Hemilamenectomy and pain level reduced for a couple of weeks, then came back worse than ever. Continued PT, Chiro and Aquatic Therapy with no reduction in pain. Even tried another injection. Nothing was improving. I ended up getting another MRI and a 2nd medical consult from a Nuerosurgeon who reviewed multiple MRIs (pre and post op) and questioned me as to what surgery Dr. Choi had performed. My new Nuerosurgeon at Memorial Hermann-Woodlands said there was no evidence of any previous surgery in my spine and we were both shocked. Needless to say, I hired the Neurosurgeon to repair my spine which he skillfully completed in August 2024. I'm now 100% pain free and walking well (no thanks to Sterling Ridge Orthopaedics and espcially Dr. Choi). A couple of positive comments re: SRO - Office staff are excellent. Dr. Beukelman is a great chiropractor. All the PT crew were excellent, especially Aquatics with Kristin! I can not recommend Dr. Edmund Choi and suggest getting a second opinion to ensure adequate care. I spent almost a year in debilitating pain because this doctor couldn't fix the problem. I came to this clinic for pelvic floor therapy, while managing complex chronic pain, fibromyalgia,…read moreand ongoing issues around the thoracic area in my back, right hip and leg. I was very transparent during my evaluation about my limitations -- especially pain in my right femur and hip, and other parts of my body exacerbated by the fibromyalgia. The young lady at the front desk was friendly and helpful in scheduling my appointments. Unfortunately though, the rest of my experience was incredibly disappointing. I just had 2 sessions in total, which were more than enough for the bad experience. During my first session, I was in visible pain and discomfort, and I showed it and expressed it clearly. Yet, after the evaluation part, the therapist often seemed more focused on another client in the room, engaging in long conversations while giving me minimal direction. Instead of clear, personalized instructions, she silently demonstrated movements for me to copy while having a conversation back and forth with the other client -- without looking at me, speaking to me, or checking if I was doing them safely or correctly. It felt impersonal and awkward -- like I was just there in the background. During the second session, despite my visible pain, which I expressed again verbally and physically, I was put through repetitive lower body movements and leg exercises that made things worse. By the next morning, I was in excruciating pain and, thankfully, had an appointment with my pain management doctor. He diagnosed hip bursitis, likely triggered or worsened by the session, and I had to receive an ultrasound-guided steroid injection; for which I needed to stop the sessions for that whole week. I sent a detailed message to the therapist the day after, explaining what happened and asking for guidance. I even called the clinic to make sure the message was received. It took almost a week to get a response -- which was a two-sentence message minimizing it as "a lot of muscle soreness." She didn't acknowledge the diagnosis, the injection, or my experience. What's especially frustrating is that this therapist claims to have fibromyalgia herself, and I expected a level of understanding and compassion. What I received instead was a rushed, impersonal, and dismissive experience -- and worse, a physical setback. At that point it was obviously clear that I needed to cancel all my future appointments in that clinic, and look for real help somewhere else. I hope this feedback encourages the clinic to reflect on how patients with chronic pain and complex conditions are treated. Pelvic floor therapy is intimate, vulnerable, and requires individualized, attentive care. I didn't receive that here, and it left me in worse shape than when I arrived.

Dr. Etemadi took the time during my consultation to go over my history and X-ray my neck and back for causes to my pain. He discovered an old injury in my neck and explained how the rest of my body was compensating for it, causing issues in other areas. His adjustments focused on those areas. I've now been seeing Dr. Etemadi for over a month and am feeling SO MUCH BETTER! My range of motion has increased - that's something I hadn't even realized had been effected. I thought that I was just "getting old" at 35 and would have to find a way to deal with my issues, but I was thankfully wrong. Three of ny extended family, each over 75, have received effective treatment by Dr. Mehta. One had…read moredeveloped hammer toes . A computerized gait analysis helped diagnose the underlying cause, and Dr Mehta has treated the feet through targeted massage and exercises and taught the patient how to self treat between appointments. Another had plantar fasciitis and sciatic pains causing considerable discomfort. He is better now but continues treatment. He has learned self care practices to supplement the massage work and exercises during sessions. He appreciates Dr. Mehta's analytical approach and willingness to adjust his diagnosis as he further explores treatment. The third person has been treated initially for pain in the upper back which was found to be linked to a bone on bone condition in the shoulder.
