If anything I thought the more modern building was a bit chilly inside, but it's a great spot to hang out. Additionally, very recently Chingu opened up their coffee concept here and Bay Boy has a little stand as well, so there are really remarkable food offerings if you hang out for a whole day. I can't speak to the cost to work here, since I was visiting for an event, but It was a cool enough space to make me curious to return for a day in the future.

Plexpod Westport stole from me when their Westport location was open. I was told my suite was being…read morebought out by a larger company and had to vacate in 2 weeks. Turns out they backed out of their lease with the parent company at the last minute and as a result pushed all of the tenants out with little to no notice. Once leaving I asked for the return of my security deposit and was promised it was going to be sent within 30 business days via mail (I have emails). I never received! I was in conversations with the COO and she cc'd the now President to ensure he took care of it. All of a sudden several high executives of the company left the company (communicated to me by the President). I was then told I wouldn't be receiving my security deposit any longer and that I needed to ask the parent company for my money (I did not have a contract with the parent company and they stated they have no accounts or information to assist us tenants who were left out to dry.) The parent company stated that they have received emails and phone calls from several of the past Westport tenants who were asked to vacate as well that experienced the same treatment as they werf directed by Plexpod to ask them as well for their money.

The vibe here is business-class with a bit of fun. The main area is a series of tables well equipped with managerial chairs and plenty of outlets. You can spread out on a table but still have someone sitting across from you to bounce ideas off or network. They view from these tables is absolutely incredible: downtown Kansas City and the Kauffman Performing Arts center. For a truly inspirational experience, work on the roof and really get to see Kansas City. The rooftop area has both tables and wi-fi so that you can be productive and enjoy the feel of the city. Entrepreneurs and other business people live on coffee and this place delivers. A full espresso bar with barista is available in the morning and in the afternoon it's help yourself. Two custom blends of The Roasterie coffee is available on drip. I recommend the SmartCoffee which is infused with cocoa nibs. Mmm. My favorite is to top the SmartCoffee with a shot or two of espresso and a shot of peppermint Torani syrups. Other amenities for rentals include a variety of meeting rooms and studio spaces as well as the entire sixth floor for large meetings. The copy room is well equipped with your typical office supplies such as binding equipment, card scanners and of course a copier and printer. Costs for these amenities depends on your lease package. The kitchen is well stocked with munchies and like a typical office environment, people often bring things to share. If you need something, just ask because the support team is very willing to accommodate. Located in the middle of the Crossroads district, there are a ton of eating establishments within walking distance making allowing you to park your car one place and keep it there all day. During busy times, parking can be a slight problem as there is no established parking lot and you'll have to find something on the street. During "First Fridays" art fair this can be a particular problem. Once you've outgrown working at coffee shops and need a focused place to work and meet with clients, coworking is a great option and Bizperc is my preferred choice in Kansas City for that right mix of amenities and fun.

Floors are concrete and ceilings are metal, when the HVAC turns on you are not able to hear the speaker. And there is an odd underlying echo when someone is talking to the group and no HVAC is on. We also utilized one of the smaller conference rooms, one of our group members was sick and we did a conference call and he said you couldn't hear anything due to the echo. The space itself is set up well, they have common meetings areas, smaller conference rooms, garage doors to some rooms. They have a coffee bar inside the space for your caffeine fix. The bathrooms (at least for the ladies) was poorly thought out and designed. Not going to go into detail, just check it out for yourself. I assume our company paid for snacks when renting the space we had so the staff kept those filled along with some pop, water and iced tea. The staff was helpful and nice, I needed to staple something and the manager lady was quick to help me which was appreciated. Unsure about the catering we had, there was a room for them but it was an offsite catering facility, so I'm not sure if they required us to us them for what. Food was ok, they tried to make some stuff gluten free for me.

You'll notice its distinct rose/gold colored glass and pyramid topped tower for miles in any direction. The grounds are immaculate year round, especially the terrace in the middle of the three buildings. Special attention is paid to keep everything looking great: fountains, flowering trees, walkways and the many flower beds that are full of blooms (from tulips in the Spring, to roses and annuals in the Summer to the mums they plant in the Fall). Considering how much time most people spend at the office it's so nice that the space is well kept. The interior is done in various colored marble and makes a great first impression when clients or vendors come to visit the office. Amenities for the employees include an on-site gym (also kept very clean, and including mens & womens locker rooms with showers), a deli in the tower building, and events throughout the year ranging from ice cream socials to BBQs to pancake fundraisers and even blood drives and book sales. Sort of a happening place! The management is very responsive to any needs, and the maintenance crew are super friendly. Dave is outstanding! Great place to rent work space, and to work!

It's even better in the summertime because they have a patio balcony for you to enjoy your time there at. The owner was also very nice. I'd highly recommend if bourbon and cigars are your thing, but it's also a cool place to come see and hang out at too.

Located near the 18th & Vine Jazz District, the center is the result of a stunning $26 million transformation of the former Crispus Attucks School. Before the program began, Izzy Vivas, Director of Sales at the Zhou B Art Center, welcomed us and shared an overview of the center's mission and rebirth. Like many other attendees, I walked in not knowing anything about the space. By the time Izzy finished, it was clear that this isn't just a renovation--it's a full-scale cultural revitalization. The building houses several dozen artist studios spread across two floors, and a number of them opened their doors after the event so guests could explore the work. It was a great mix--painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media--and the artists were friendly, passionate, and eager to share their stories. The atmosphere felt both professional and welcoming. I hope more Kansas Citians take the time to experience the Zhou B Art Center, especially during First Fridays. It's an impressive space with a lot of creative energy, and it deserves to become a regular stop for anyone who cares about local art.
