Wow! That's an understatement of how amazing Dave was! He came and helped me do the whole layout planning of our kitchen...he made the plan and added in the extras we'd need so that when I went to IKEA to order my kitchen it'd be a cinch...and it was! Dave was super flexible in his schedule and was able to come as soon as all my pieces had arrived. He installed our cabinets in impressive timing! He even built a facade over our microwave to cover the venting shaft using the scrap paneling, upon my request! My kitchen was also missing the pantry for a few weeks, waiting on IKEA to get them in stock. Dave finished the whole kitchen up to the pantry in two days. When the pantry finally arrived he came back and finished that part the next day! If you know anything about assembling IKEA products there are a TON of parts and pieces! He knew every piece and assembled them faster then anyone I've seen. He was incredibly priced and did super quality work! I was beyond impressed by Dave's craftsmanship, speed, and how he cleaned up after himself! You will not be disappointed when you have Dave take care of your IKEA assembling needs!

Dave is incredible. Super communicative and punctual. I have worked with him on several projects and highly recommend him.

Fridge fit to size cabinets and pantry

Dave has installed 2 of our kitchens in the last 2 years. He's done a great job and was in and out in just 1 day. Our most recent kitchen was difficult with uneven walls and ceilings. He was able to cut all the pieces to fit smoothly and make everything look perfect. Dave was kind enough to come back when we got our new handles and install them without hassle. I highly recommend Dave and will continue to work with him on all of our kitchens!

    Hallway storage with IKEA cabinets.

Had old storage and extra space from the original heater. Dave came and created all this new storage for me. I called and he was able to work me into his schedule quick! I was surprised with what he was able to do with the space. He said he had to modify a cabinet. He was here for about 5 hours and I was very impressed when he was finished. He even cleaned up and left me without any mess. Thanks Assembly Dude Dave

I wish there was more stars to give. Please stop your search and hire Dave. I made a mistake and initially went with someone else, and learned my lesson the hard way. Dave is more than an installer he is a master at his craft and a magician. He was up against a task of having to fix problems the other "installer" did and created a kitchen that is beautiful and expertly installed. My Ikea cabinets look custom from the ground up. He is reliable, responsive, keeps his work tidy and is able to think on his toes and make judgment calls that will make the kitchen functional and beautiful. I repeat do not go with anyone else thinking you are saving money or time. Dave knows this stuff and will exceed your expectations. I went from being so sad about what the other installer did to being so incredibly proud to show off my new kitchen. I still have some back ordered cabinet fronts but due to covid I'll have to wait. Dave has offered to come back when they come in to install them. He even mounted my microwave/vent. Couldn't be more happy.

Like, I have the smallest kitchen and bathroom in the world, where every inch of space counted, and Dave never missed.

Nick has been called "Super Nick" on here, and I think that it is a bit short of the reality: He is…read morefreaking MAGICAL. Harry Potter was good, but Nick Kovscek doesn't need a wand and an owl to transform things. If you're like me, you want a balanced review that has the good and the bad in there so that you know the pitfalls of what you're going to get into. I don't find review that just blows sunshine all the way through particularly helpful. I hate to let you down, but I don't have anything that I can say that is bad about Nick. I'm sorry. He's really just that good. Here's our story: We had an early 1970s condo with a galley kitchen with a wall between the living room and the kitchen dining area. We wanted to open up the wall to make a "pass through" but really wanted something more open. Unfortunately it was a load bearing wall. To accomplish this it was going to have to be a post and beam arrangement with a wrap to give it a clean modern Pacific Northwest feel. We wanted Pental quartz counters and large format tile back-splash. Our flooring was contracted through someone else, but we needed someone to come in and handle all the rest of it - cabinets, recessed lighting, cabinet hardware, tile work, wall removal, post+beam, faucet, appliance installation, etc. I had already purchased a decent chunk of the materials, but lacked any capacity to do the work. Knowing just enough to be dangerous, I was interviewing to find someone to open up this place and make it a showpiece modern kitchen that my new bride and I could enjoy and feel comfortable entertaining people. I had set a fairly high bar with expectations. Unfortunately that caviar taste with lumpfish budget thing... Nick was one of six contractors that bid the job, and he came in solidly in the middle. Our quantitative factors were just like yours: money and time. Our qualitative factors were the same as yours: honesty, punctuality and thoughtfulness. My desire (need) to save money was an imperative, but this is also the main room in our living space, and it couldn't be half-arsed. All of the stars aligned for Nick to win the bid, and we were off and running. Boy was it a lucky match-up! Our cabinets were delayed in delivery and Nick worked his schedule such that he could accommodate our remodel. He was incredibly flexible and as the project got underway, it came to pass that he was impeccably clean, mindful of our space and happy to accommodate changes. His billing is transparent and his pricing absolutely fair. His communication was good and he was always on top of ordering the items that I hadn't already purchased. As our project unfolded, Nick proved himself to be incredibly trustworthy, a solid worker with an incredible ethic and a dedication to make sure that things aren't just done right, but done *perfectly*. There were a couple of places where there were mistakes that were made, or spots that weren't exacting. Instead of coming up with a goofy workaround and hiding the error, he came to me and showed me exactly what was wrong and told me how he would fix it. An example was that there was a tiny misalignment in one of the cabinets. If it had been left undone, I doubt anyone could have seen it after project completion. Instead, he showed me and fixed it. Another was that the refrigerator delivered had a slight bow in the sides and wouldn't fit into the cabinet that he built. If the refrigerator had been to the specs that were published, Nick's cabinet would have been a perfect glove. Instead of forcing the square peg/round hole, Nick reconfigured the cabinetry and re-trimmed it so that no one could possibly tell. The man is amazing. While you read through this review, you may be thinking "This review is too over the top." Yeah, well, it isn't over the top enough. You want the truth? Email me. Call me. I've got an hour to tell you all the wonderful things that he's done and the money he has saved us. Hopefully he will put before and after pictures of our project on his website because they should tell you everything you need to know. There may be someone out there that doesn't think that he's the best damn thing hitting a nail, but you are going to be hard pressed to find them. Nick is the real deal that is going to make your project blow your mind. If he can't make your repair, renovation or remodel off the charts, he'll be the first to tell you. He is going to be coming back to our home to be remodeling both of our bathrooms, and I have him set in the phone for any kind of repair, or fix that might come down the pike. As a matter of fact, he has a key to our home, and he's welcome to use it any time. My recommendation is so strong that I would go so far as to say that you should schedule your projects around his availability. Finding someone with the integrity and know-how that Nick Kovscek has is tough. Hiring him to make your project shine is one of the easiest decisions you're going to make.

He is very professional and thorough, immediately understanding my vision for my kitchen renovation and making it happen (while still helping to keep my costs down on a limited budget.) I had another contractor decide that certain parts of my project were too small to be worth their time, but Nick was more than happy to take care of them and all of the additional requests that we added on to the scope of the project. We're already planning a bathroom addition and will definitely be calling Nick back out for that.

We ran into a few hick-ups during our install due to us not knowing and our cabinet couch not catching the issues prior to moving forward. Most issues were easily fixed, but a couple of them we will just have to live with. This is because our upper cabinet height was too tall to accommodate the crown we ordered and we now have to rip all of the crown molding to make it thinner so we can install it and still be able to open our cabinets. We also have a taller cabinet for our bar that did not come with predrilled holes for a shelf or any self to place inside. Update: just got off the phone with Nick and he is going above and beyond to make sure that the last few issues we've encountered are fixed.

This company is a scam. I tried posting review on Google but it got removed. I sincerely think they remove bad reviews. The cabinets came cracked and damaged. They just left my damaged cabinets on the streets of Manhattan without notifying me. Some of the items are not sized correctly and they do not tell you that - for example, my spice rack that they sent does not fit into my cabinets. Cabinet Joint is very badly run and will not offer support to the if things go wrong. Over half of my cabinets came with damage (See pictures of examples - there are more than 25 cracks on the cabinets) and the customer has to figure this out themselves. Cabinet Joint is extremely unwilling to help and want to place all the blame on their shipping company. See other reviews who have said the same thing. My cabinets coach is named Joe. He was dismissive, condescending and passive aggressive in handling my situation when the majority of my cabinets arrived damaged.

That just shows you the type of people you would be dealing with. Be cautious before choosing this company.
