What kind of a racket is being run here? I spent over an hour in this office and spoke with a dentist for 4 minutes and was expected to wait additional time to speak to a "treatment coordinator". If you plan to come here for a consult, you will need to clear at least 2 solid hours from your day, if not more. And that 4 minutes cost me $89. I am here to prevent you from learning the same $89 lesson that I just learned. As soon as the dentist recommended full, unconscious IV sedation during minute 3 of our conversation, I knew this was not about me and my teeth but about dollar signs. My dentist referred me to Associated Oral Surgeons to have a procedure done. They said very clearly over the phone as I stood there, "No consult needed, just schedule the procedure." Then they said, "No. It's not an emergency." I got my appointment scheduled and waited. When I arrived, I fully expected to have the procedure performed. Instead, I saw the doctor for less than 5 minutes where he recommended I schedule ANOTHER appointment to have the work done that my dentist's office clearly told them to do already. This is nothing short of a billing game to charge $89 for an unnecessary visit and a complete waste of time. This is a clear example of why medical costs are so high. I recommend taking your business to a provider that is interested in performing work for the fees they charge. read more

Dr. Schroeder performed corrective lower jaw surgery on me, in collaboration with my orthodontist. I couldn't be more happy with the results. This was a pretty substantial realignment to correct my bite and other related issues. Dr. Schroeder was very informative throughout the planning process and then with checkups afterward. I'm about ten weeks out from my surgery and my healing has been without complication. I do still have a little numbness on one side of my chin/lower lip, but it's progressively improving steadily, just as Dr. Schroeder said it would. I find it pretty incredible that Dr. Schroeder is able to produce such precise surgery in such a limited space; Even the X-rays showed clean cut lines and fastener placement. Before and after surgery, the insurance coordinator, Crystal, jumped through hoops with insurance before the surgery and continued to manage throughout the process. She went above and beyond in several ways. I would highly recommend for similar procedures. read more

Beware.....I had an experience at this establishment that should not happen to anyone. I was given shots in my gums by Dr. Schroeder without being numbed. It was a horrible pain that caused the tears to flow wildly out of my eyes. This type of mistake should not happen in a professional dental office. Enter here at your own risk. read more

DO NOT GO TO DR. OTTE!!!!! He did nerve damage and is negligent. I've had nothing but problems since his hack job on wisdom teeth extraction. I had necrotic bone left that he ignored. I ended up having to drive 2 hours away to get it taken care of. And now over 4 months later I have no feeling still in my tongue and bone pushing through gum tissue from extraction. I had more answers from a surgeon on justanswer.com than this joke of an office. read more

Well i must say on day one after having 5 extractions I'm just fine, some of the broken teeth have been in my mouth for awhile. Just came for my appointment and they told me the doctor was going to be 20 minutes late. After waiting the 20 minutes and additional 40, they tell me it's going to be another 5, waiting that, and in fact 10 more minutes. After that, they said it was going to be another 15. So, after waiting an hour and fifteen minutes, I gave up on Dr. Schroeder. Dr. Esmail used to be there and was great, but has since left and they refused to tell me where he went. I can't begin to express how happy I am with Dr. Otte and the entire staff. From prompt emails to easy scheduling, it was a great experience. Not only was Dr. Otte very thorough but did a quick and fairly painless extraction of my impacted wisdom tooth. He noticed how scared I was and was quick to turn on music for me which was a nice extra touch that meant a lot to me! Thankfully I don't have any more wisdom teeth to pull but if I did, I would definitely go back and will most certainly recommend him to anyone needing an extraction. read more

I came in from a referral from my dentist for tooth extraction. I saw Dr. Esmile and was there for the extraction under just a local, after he looked at my x-ray he said he was not comfortable doing the extraction under a local because I was already horribly nervous (very true I'm terrified of dentists/dental work) and the roots were so close to the nerves. So I rescheduled with full anesthesia. It was a pain in the butt because I have twins and has to rearrange a babysitter but I appreciated the honesty and thoughtfulness. When I returned for the extraction, it went flawlessly. The staff was so kind to me and I had no issues at all. I did end up back in the office a week later and saw Dr. Otte, I had severe swelling. I had something stuck in the extraction site. Dr. Otte got it out, was super nice to me and I was on my way. I was very pleased every time I was in the office and have called. read more

I had extractions done on both sides yesterday. Dr. Esmail and each staff member I spoke with or worked on me did a fabulous job of making me feel comfortable. Dr. Esmail talked directly to me during the whole process, his care and concern was so appreciated. WARNING.. do not go here. I was referred here by my dentist. The surgeon that did my extraction didn't get all of it out. I went back multiple times. He treated me like I was a drug seeker when I was saying I was in pain. (I really don't care for pain meds at all as they make me feel like crap.) I kept trying to tell him I didn't think it felt right and he just wanted me to get out of his office. After 5 months the pain was bad enough I finally managed to take out a sharp jagged chunk of bone or tooth on my own which was really painful but at least now it feels so much better w/ that wound not trying to close around jagged edges. This piece was large. It was about the size of my middle fingernail. I don't know how on Earth he missed that w/ the after procedure xray.. and then when he "looked" at it the times I came back. He literally spent about 2 seconds w/ my mouth open and said yeah it's fine. I will be sure and share w/ any/all dentists in the area I come into contact with so they don't send more people to this low quality provider. read more

The wisdom tooth extraction went fine. My complaint is with their billing, and their quote of when the remaining holes would heal and fill in. 10 months later the holes have not filled in with new skin completely, I would say they filled in about 80% of the way so when I run my tongue over it, there is a "pothole". My bigger complaint and reason for the 2 star rating is the billing. I was sat down with a consultation, was quoted a price and my out of pocket cost after insurance would be billed. I do not remember a $89 consultation fee being made clear to me, yet 9 months later I got a bill for my portion of that fee that insurance didn't cover, which was $25. The billing for the extraction itself was much worse. On the day of my extraction, I paid the out of pocket cost they gave me, which was $500 something dollars. Starting around 2 months after extraction I started receiving bills showing I owe $0, but pending insurance amount over $1000 dollars. It says I owe zero, so I ignored it. Next month, same bill, following month, same bill but a $15.xx service charge for being over 90 days past due (on a zero dollar amount), but still shows $0 owed. After 2 more months of a $0 bill and service charges, I called and they wiped the service charges since there was pending insurance. I asked why it is still pending and is taking so long, they said it can take insurance a while sometimes. So 2 more months of bills and service charges and I call back again, this time they do more research and that's when they find out they billed the incorrect Blue Cross/Blue Shield in the wrong state, even though the correct one is listed right on the back of my insurance card, so they fixed it and bill the correct one. After a total of 10 months, and service charges having to be wiped out twice, insurance finally paid them, but I get a bill for $40. I called and they said this is what insurance didn't cover. I said 'well what about the $500 something I paid on the extraction date that was quoted to me as my only out-of-pocket cost?' and they said it is just an estimate, not an exact number. This billing practice is deceiving and wrong. Don't make me pay anything up front unless you know the correct amount. Don't give me estimates, give me the exact bill. If this is not possible, then the medical/dental billing process needs overhauled so that people can get exact amounts and not estimates. read more
