Not only was the part much more reasonably priced, but the shipped it from England to Texas faster than most places would ship from New York to Texas. Furthermore, working with the parts manager, Rob, was a great experience. He is very professional, and goes out of his was to ensure excellent customer service. I rang a good number of garages, most of which told me a load of rubbish about what was needed to repair mums car, as a mechanic myself i understand exactly how the dsg box works despite not actually repairing them myself. I didnt tell any garage my trade and acted like a general punter to make sure I found a garage that told me the truth about what needed to be done sadly most didnt, being in the trade I know only too well alot of garage's sadly rip people off. I spoke to Jason and he told me what was likely to be the issue and gave me a min and max price estimate, the fault he believed it to be was exactly what I had found extensive research results prior to calling for quotes. The car was dropped off to them Saturday while they were closed and by midday tuesday it was repaired and ready right in the middle of his price estimate. When I picked the car up the workshop was very clean and tidy and well organised, and they had even given mums car a courtesy wash. I have always done everything to the best of my ability and believed in doing things right. I truly believe I've stumbled on a gem of a company with customer service at the core. I'm an honest mechanic leaving a solid review for a company which shares my values, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Stephens engineering and I will definitely only be making 1 phone call for any auto gearbox repairs in the future.

I called this morning to test drive a ford fiesta they had advertised on auto trader, the gentleman…read moresaid I could come later to test drive it. After a 30 minute drive we reached car country sales only for the gentleman I had talked to earlier to say that the car was 10 cars deep and that it was not possible to take for a test drive. He went on to talk about people not being willing to buy cars after they take it for a test drive and that it would take a lot of time to get the car out. I appreciate that it would take a while to take the car out but then why did he tell me I could take it for a test drive in the morning of the same day? In defence of the company, it looks very professional and the car I was looking for looked in good shape (even though I could not take it for a drive), but I would not want to do business with someone so unprofessional as so waste so much of my time.

All diagnosed various faults, non of which convinced me. Mo's investigation was very in depth and he was able to successfully identify the problem with my vehicle. He ordered the parts and repaired my car within a few hours, on the same day using genuine Mercedes parts. The cost, a fraction of the price quoted by other mechanics. I recommend him 100%. Mo's Garage is not typical of most garages, full of cars waiting to be repaired. He provides a personal service, by appointment. This provided the opportunity for me to discuss the issues with my vehicle and build a rapport with Mo. I am so happy to have found a reliable, trustworthy efficient Mercedes mechanic. In the olden days people turned up with wrench and toolkit and a deep intake of breath on the spot eventually.Nowadays they arrive within a time armed with a laptop and testing equipment. Whatever happen to grease nipples? Do not answer that! I did forget to mention the new premises moved from besides Sainsbury`s to behind Wickes, that is only 50% smaller as a result!!

Aided with my trusty car handbook and few sneaky peeks at the larger car manuals in the shop, I've managed to save myself a few bob by doing basic car maintenance. For slightly trickier jobs like replacing reversing light bulbs, the Halfords staff will fit them for a nominal fee. This will continue to be a lifeline until I complete auto repairs 101!
