Tony, Jim, and Jeff are all experts in their fields of police work and the military. Their ability to train and help civilians on the use of firearms and evaluate situations to protect yourself, your loved ones, or others, is unsurpassed. The first CCL class (16 hours) gave way more information and experience than I ever expected. I cannot see another facility give better instruction than they did. Our instruction was exactly the same instruction they give to law enforcement. Their instruction was very eye opening by showing us, and involving us in real life situations. The Facility offers advanced training that is the same training used by law enforcement that I definitely plan on taking. I recommend The Facility as THE place to go for getting your CCL license or at the very least, take some classes to help better protect yourself, your loved ones, and others. None of us hope to ever use what they teach, and that is the first rule. But, if you are ever in a situation that could in reality mean life or death to yourself, your loved ones, or others, The Facility will train you to be better prepared in that situation to handle yourself. This was my very first experience training with or even using a hand gun. I was referred to The Facility by a student who previously took their training class. I was impressed with Tony, Jeff and Jim (the instructors) and the depth of knowledge they provided over the two day course. I took the Concealed Carry Training class. We were taught the fundamentals of gun safety and the laws surrounding proper use. The classroom training was done in an engaging and interesting way. More importantly, there was a very good amount of hands on experience, scenarios and participation that was woven into the course content. There's no way to be bored over the 16 required hours of training. They really emphasize the importance of continuing training, not only in firing range settings, but being able to be put into real life like scenarios that can happen when dealing with concealed carry. I found the class very informative and thought provoking. I would recommend this course to anyone interested in learning more about the responsibilities attached to gun ownership and self protection. They also offer other classes for continuing education. I recommended my own daughters and my husband take courses with them. They offer classes for women to learn self defense. This is my first experience with professional training of a firearm but, I must say the bar has now been set.   There were approximately 30 students in this conceal class with 4 different instructors. All of which had at least  25 years of military or police service experience. The real life stories they shared were insightful and had a profound impact and gave me information i could not possibly learn from any standard class, website or handout.  It was easy to see they had a passion for the laws of this country and good people doing the right lawful thing.  This is an awesome facility with technology that allows participants the ability to experience realistic scenarios that could happen to anyone tomorrow.  Pleaee be aware that this is the cost of the class only. In order to qualify for a conceal carry permit you wlll also have to pay $20 for the range time.  I would recommend this class to anyone. The Concealed Carry Class that I have taken at the ASTS The Facility was excellent in providing me with the training that I needed to receive my Concealed Carry Certification. The instructor Tony presented the course material in a realistic, understandable and enjoyable manner. During the class, I received a great appreciation of the responsibility, safety and practical aspects of owning and potentially using a firearm for the protection of myself, my family, at home and possibly others in public situations. The class utilized informative knowledge regarding Illinois laws, hands on training for properly maintaining and using firearms. Videos, situational simulations and instructor instruction and class discussions showed the class a wide variety of real concealed carry situations that enforce my knowledge in potential cases. I am pretty new with guns and have only been carrying a little over a year. I signed up for the "Basic draw and shoot" training so that I could get it done before a long weekend in northern Wisconsin where I planned to go to an outdoor range every day and practice what I learned. Unfortunately, just before the date it had to be rescheduled and the new date was after that trip. When I explained this to Tony, he went out of his way to fit me into his schedule 2 days before my trip. Tony is a real professional and the training was amazing. I don't ever remember having so much fun shooting and I learned a lot after shooting over 250 rounds in about 2 1/2 hours. I leave for Wisconsin on Thursday and can't wait to practice what he taught me. I am about to sign up to do it again after I get back and will definitely go to the facility for more training. read more

My wife and I went there for the mandatory ccl training class. This is our first time to do anything like this. We never held or shot a gun before so didn't know what to expect. Tony, Jeff and Jim were very welcoming from the beginning. All of them have 20 30 plus years of law enforcement experience. They provided a practical understanding of the Illinois gun law, what u can and can't do. They shared tons of insights from their experience. There were at least 50 students but they managed to spend plenty to to work with us individually on our grip, stance, aim and tactical movements. They also put us through different scenarios and walked us thru how to handle them. My wife and I will be going back to check out their other self defense classes. I highly recommend 'The Facility'. As of a month ago I was new to firearms. I took the 4 hour "Intro to Handguns" to get comfortable and learn how to properly and safely handle one.. The instructor, Darren, is very knowledgeable and provided me with the proper techniques to handle and shoot a semi automatic at the range. I recently completed the 16 hour conceal and carry evenings class. The class instructed by Tony was great. He covered all the material and patiently answered any questions that were asked. Tony is very knowledgeable and shared many experiences with the class. 'The Faciltiy' is equipped with a smokeless range that placed us in real life scenarios. Not only do they teach you everything for your CCL, but with their experience from being a policeman and a Marine, they give you extra, real life situations that they had in their lives. Tony trained our group and he is absolutely fabulous. If you are going to pursue a CCL, this is a big responsibility. You really want to be trained correctly. Tony and The Facility will do that for you. Don't fall for other training programs that are offered as free. They are not free, as nothing in life is free. Further, you may want to question the type of training you receive from a company offering to provide free training and then you pay a number of non-disclosed charges once you are in the class. Went for my concealed carry, got so much more than that. Tony taught our classroom and conducted the range. He was extremely thorough. He took us through all of the fundamentals of shooting. How to hold and aim a gun & how to stand for comfort & accuracy. It was amazing, one person was shooting low and left, he told her what he was doing wrong and then she started shooting great! There is a really cool simulated range right on the premises, also a super cool video experience, not to mention a scenario house (to allow you to get "live" intruder experience). I plan on taking several more classes. They offer self-defense classes, some especially for women! I highly recommend The Facility!!! read more

The Facility's owners Tony and Jeff Wasco's concealed carry class gives you so much more than the laws about getting your concealed carry license. They teach you everything that you need to be confident in getting your license, and show you techniques that they used in law enforcement and in the military. The Facility is a great place to learn how to protect yourself and family from carjackings,home burglaries and street robberies. They have real time scenarios on video with no live ammo that puts you in a situation that makes you think at an instant how to handle different encounters with the bad guys! They also have first aid training,which is different from other ccw classes I have taken. I highly recommend these classes and will further train and educate myself with this highly qualified group of military and law enforcement instructors!!! The facility is state of the art learning system with a virtual reality screen to learn on so as not to make mistakes in real life. The staff are all professionals in the police community and there goal is to train all students how to safely hold and use firearms and to check on your partner as to do all of it safely. My husband and I just got done take our Conceal Carry Class. Tony, Jeff and Allen were great. They bring a lot of knowledge and experience to the class. They are easy to talk to and willing to answer any questions that you may have. They dry range upstairs if really great too. The fact that we were able to take the classes on two Sundays, instead of Saturday and Sunday was a huge plus for us. My husband has been working 6 days a week with only Sundays off. I would highly recommend The Facility for the required classes for all who are wanting to apply for a CCW permit. I had put off obtaining my CCW due to the fact that I had never fired a handgun and frankly was a bit terrified to do so but a friend recommended The Facility so I enrolled and let me tell you I am so happy that I did. I took the basic training course today because I am a new gun owner. I went in feeling very uneasy and once I finished, I felt way more confident. My instructor Alan was super patient and extremely knowledgeable and went to great measures to make sure I understood everything we touched on! This is such a great hands on experience. I recently took the conceal carry training. I was not looking forward to it. I just thought it was a waste of time since I grew up handling and firing guns. Boy was I wrong. This class was so informative. Totally changed my view on firearm training. Everyone who owns a firearm should take this class. I highly recommend this facility, they have a great training where they teach you how to shoot correctly, release magazines properly, protect yourself with moving targets, proper form and more. They have an area where you can practice real life scenarios such as carjackings, abductions, etc. The instructors have tons of experience since most of them are in law enforcement.
