This restaurant has all the bones to be a great success but needs some serious work. We had no wait to get a table but did wait 15 minutes for someone to come take our drink orders and then another 15 for our drinks to arrive. This was not only happening to our table, 3 tables around us also waiting ridiculous amounts of time to be able to put in drink orders. The hosts and bussers seemed to be just standing around with nothing to do while Kristie, the only server working, was running around doing everything. Kristie is phenomenal and is truly holding this place together and to be so honest she is too good for this restaurant and needs the help and support she deserves. This cozy little place had decent service, my waiter was sweet. I politely declined the potatoes in my meal, but they still arrived and remained untouched when I left. I didn't mind paying for the potatoes even though they were not suppose to come as requested. I had requested none of the powdered sugar on the pancakes and they were unusually sweet, and I barely managed to eat them. The bacon was not crispy enough, and the avocado was not ripe enough for my taste. However, the wheat bread was good. My husband swapped out his eggs Benedict for locs instead of bacon and thought the meals were bad. He mentioned that his bacon was too salty and the English muffin was too hard to chew and hard to cut. We also ordered the apple juice, which was nothing different from the regular apple juice. Worth the hype! Now this is one of the OG location and not the new ones that are being shared in IG. We first visited one of the new locations however being Sunday at brunch time it was absolutely packed so when we looked in the map, we saw that this location was far away from park and attractions so we figured it might not be as popular. When we got here, we were pleased to say that we were correct. It was busy, but we walked right in with no wait time and even though we didn't see a wait time for anybody the most responsible people waiting for a table was 5 to 10 minutes. Nothing crazy. I'm not sure why the other locations look like but this one is a very old-fashioned diner look and feeling. The service was spectacular from beginning to end and I have absolutely no complaints . Now going for the food, it should come with a warning label because the portions were huge. Definitely placed are meant to share. The chicken and waffles were one of the favorite things. I've had. The chicken was well seasoned and absolutely delicious. Their waffles were fluffy inside and crunchy in the outside. The portion was huge, but definitely something I would try again. The breakfast tacos were very different to what I'm used to as the "shell" were made out of waffles and again huge portions definitely something that meant to share and not a handheld item. This was not my favorite dish, but I will recommend to try. We also share the Nutella banana and strawberry pancakes, which were absolutely delicious and not too sweet. The iced latte and iced cappuccino were also both delicious . Overall, I highly recommend this location for a more relax experience of this restaurant as the ambience is more calm . The portion sizes here are absolutely GINORMOUS WHICH I LOVE because it was very decently priced for the amount of food we got. We went the savory route instead of the sweet route, and I can honestly say that I was not impressed with the actual flavor of the savory breakfast foods. Our waitress was extremely kind WHEN she was able to check in on us, but they had a full restaurant and we waited FOREVER for even just our drinks. I think our waitress checked in on us a total of 3 times for the entirety of our brunch. We were there for an hour and a half which seemed a bit long to us... parties of 6+ are automatically charged a 22% service charge which I feel was DEFINITELY on the high end... I've seen 18% and 20% automatically charged at other similar places and been fine with it for mediocre service... but I feel like an automatic 22% for being checked in on a total of 3 times wasn't quite adding up for me. If I were to come back, I would try some of their sweet breakfast items because they look extremely creative. I love the diner feel of this place because most breakfast places in the area try too hard to seem elevated with their decor and what not. I read Yelp reviews and decided to check out the Diner. It was on the corner of a strip mall with a decent amount of parking. It was sunny inside from all the great windows. My family and I have seen this place whenever we've gone to The Fresh Market for groceries and it usually can be busy for breakfast. We decided to give them a try a couple of mornings because it's so close by. It's in the same plaza as The Fresh Market and the pet place. Parking varies whenever you go - if you around opening, you can find a spot. (Other times I've seen people park further out due to The Fresh Market being open.) Staff are always friendly and knowledgeable whenever we've dined there. I enjoy their omelette and add cheese and chorizo to mine. Their potatoes are delicious and have a slightly spicy seasoning to them. I order them extra crispy. Portions are a good size and often I tend to take some as leftovers for the next morning. 1 star because you have to...Went here with some students and another teacher after an event at Dr Phillips High School. When we walked in the door, their sign said "Grand Reopening"! As we were standing there waiting for a table, these people got up from a booth to walk out and the guy says, "Good luck the service was terrible!" Normally I might turn around and walk out but it was 8 of us, not so easy! We sit down, took at least 10 minutes for them to come and get drink orders. I ordered water with lemon, oh sorry we don't have any lemons. Ok, what type of drink products do you have, Coke? Yes mam! Great, I'll have Dr Pepper. She walks away for probably another 10 minutes. Comes back to say, oh sorry we have Pepsi products. Mind you, it was 11:30...you didn't know that you had Pepsi? The menu said Coke. Ok no biggie, bring me Pepsi, which I hate. Comes back with all the drinks and another 5-7 minutes go by and she comes back to take our orders. One student ordered a Cuban sandwich and many other items were ordered. She comes back about 5 minutes later to say, we don't have pork, but we can do it with chicken? Ok great, it's not a Cuban anymore but whatever. Everyone got their food except my teacher friend. She got one thing out of the 4 things she ordered. I ordered a Greek Omelette. I cut into it and the whites of the eggs ran all over the plate! I tried picking around the edges and just could not eat it. I ate my potatoes which were very good. That's where the good ended. Meanwhile teacher friend still doesn't have her food. Some of the kids were done. The one who got the fake Cuban said it was terrible and didn't even eat her food. She finally comes back after what seems like 15 minutes with the other food. I said to her can you please just pop this plate in the microwave for 1 minute. She said oh is it cold? Uhhh no, it's not cooked and I showed her. She goes back to the kitchen for another 5 or so minutes and sets down a different plate with a different omelette, cut into it and same thing! Runny and not cooked! I give up! Meanwhile in a booth behind us, two people come with their phones, lighting, etc to do a video for their food page. The waitress is scrubbing down the booth, the chef if you can call him that, comes out to talk to them and shaking hands. I'm like, check this out! And then proceeds to bring out all this food that honestly looked great! A few kids asked for boxes and never got one. She came back with her little machine for us to pay. It put the tip on already because we had 8 people. My tip was almost $4. She didn't even ask if I wanted to add more, which I wouldn't have, but I think she realized not to go there! So if 8 of us paid $4, she got a very nice tip for the worse service I've experienced in a very long time. She never once apologized for the very slow and crappy service and obviously you had several people who didn't eat their food and she didn't say one word about it. Drinks were never refilled.. maybe she was overwhelmed and I certainly get that, but at least acknowledge it! While we sat there for over an hour and a half, two other booths left pissed off. Suggestion: maybe revisit your Grand Opening! They definitely need to improve some things if they want to stay in business!! And I was nauseous and sick to my stomach the rest of the day...never again!! I don't live in that area so it won't be a problem to avoid!! read more

We were super excited to try this place. We were in town for a conference. Well it was a mediocre experience at best. The initial service was fine. But it declined for me. My coworker asked for more coffee. He brought some to her. I pushed my half empty cup that way to make it easy. He turned and left. And never refilled my empty cup ever...... Food was ok. Some of my coworkers loved theres. The Huevos ranchero was apparently great. Most of the others were underwhelmed. My omelet was overcooked and super dry. My husband and I tried as a new potential local spot. This quality is not what I would have expected in the Dr. Philips area. On the good side, the server was great and attended to all asks. The restaurant was clean and smelled good. Decor was diner vibe. Now for the food quality, which is why I give this a 2. Most diners I have visited I ah e found the food is fresh cooked to order and hot with the appearance it just came off the grill, however, that was not the case today. For me, my potatoes were cool and were definitely sever out of premade and a dip out of the pot and not heated and fresh. Bacon - hard, leathery and tuff - no fresh smell of just cooked bacon. Eggs were decent. Waffle - first taste was great, but as it cooled the waffle had a doughy sweet taste and not very appealing. Now for my husband's - he had an omelet which was OK but meat not hot and fresh grilled. Gravy- lumpy with a taste of flour only and then his pancakes were grainy. He's not very picky about food- so for him to give this rating gives me a definite "no" to returning. I want to start this review off by saying that it was their grand re opening, so I don't expect everything to be perfect. However as we were walking into the building a family told us to not waste our time because "the service was terrible". This in fact wasn't the problem with our experience, Allie was a great server and anything she couldn't provide wasn't her fault. The food on the other hand was mediocre at best, the egg shown in exhibit A is just raw and that is after we sent it back because it was even more raw than that, the Cuban just speaks for it self. The main issue with our visit was our food wasn't great, it was because a group of influencers behind us had the best looking food in town, everything was packed full colorful and honestly looked very delicious. I am very disappointed Tik tokers had a better experience than regular people who keep the place open. We ended up here by accident and we are happy to have discovered this place. It was packed and there was a wait, but it wasn't very long. Service was quick and friendly. They churned out the food at a record pace and the tables turned over quickly. Loads of satisfied customers. Not a place to linger around on the weekends though due to constant line of customers waiting to get in. I had an omelett and a side of bacon. Along with some coffee of course. The coffee was great and constantly refilled. The omelet was humongous and came with a large helping of potatoes and some toast. And it was delicious. My guest had the chicken and biscuits with egg and gravy and again, the portion size was unexpected, but of course appreciated. And every bite was delicious. Unfortunately I didn't get to try the mimosa, but I will next time. And there will be a next time I'm in Orlando. I stop here for breakfast when I am in the area on mornings. I like their Tex-Mex omelette and their biscuits and sausage gravy.The food is good. They offer table service. Service has been pleasant and efficient. The environment is neat and clean. My one objection is that checks provided at the table have suggested tips of 20, 25, and 30 percent which to me are excessive. I also note that the tip amounts include tax. While the impact is small, I object to paying tips on tax. Patrons can customize tip as desired. The check includes a QR code that allows payment using cell phones.
