It seems like we drank a lot of wine in the two days we were in Strasbourg, and after spending some…read moretime in the Christkindelsmärik drinking glühwein and eating crepes, I wanted something a bit more substantial but not quite a full sit down meal. At this Carrefour, which is deceptively deep, I found a great bakery rack with baguettes and amazingly, a tub of taramasalata (a Greek spread made with roe) and some cheese. While it made a huge mess of the hotel room, it was perfectly delicious and satisfying. Wine (some chilled), some produce, canned goods, ready-to-heat foods, juices, meats, cheese, frozen meals. While maybe you couldn't do a full home shop here, you can definitely get enough for your hotel room or your apartment. Prices seemed decent but I wasn't checking that closely. The prices actually aren't that bad, about what you pay at the grocery store, or a bit more for the extra quality but not super premium. You should go here before you go to Carrefour.

A good place to stop at for general food needs. They have a good selection of wine, beverages, and…read moresnacks. However, their food selection is lacking a little. If you need a quick drink or snack this is the place. But if you need food or cooking supplies I recommend Simply.

Pour couronner le tout, hier, j'ai essayé de scanner mon ticket de caisse pour ouvrir la barrière de sortie. J'ai essayé plusieurs fois sans succès. Au lieu de m'aider, l'imbécile de gardien de sécurité a pris mon TICKET DE CAISSE et s'est mis à le brandir dans la zone des caisses pendant cinq minutes. Complètement perturbé, j'ai engueulé ce petit idiot et lui ai dit que je ne reviendrais pas dans ce magasin arnaqueur aux prix exorbitants, d'autant plus qu'il m'avait traité comme un crétin de 5 ans. Je fais désormais plusieurs kilomètres pour passer la frontière allemande et faire mes courses à des prix beaucoup plus raisonnables et abordables chez Aldi, Lidl, Edeka et/ou Netto à Kehl. Service was quick, friendly, and tri-lingual in French, German, and English giving me an opportunity to butcher my extremely limited French. My wife loved her tuna quiche. I loved my tarte flambé with local Alsatian munster cheese. This is definitely a place we'd consider returning to for lunch/dinner.
