Our group of four and our two dogs were treated to a delightful late lunch/afternoon tea at Athelstane House today. Can't thank Chris and Brendon and Dargo (their beautiful dog) enough. Such warmth and generosity of spirit. Thank you both from the bottom of our hearts for making this occasion memorable. we will be back! xx read more
I have been visiting Athelstane for several years, it was always a great little gem when Queenscliff let the tourist crowds overwhelm its many normally charming venues... but lately Athelstane had lost its mojo. So my recent visit, in which I ended up having coffee with the NEW owners, revealed that the former owners had been winding down towards selling the place - bingo, that's why! I am glad to report that Athelstane is now back baby ! The staff seem re-energised, the coffee is great, the food amazing and that charming atmosphere remains. Whether you have been here before or not try the new Athelstane for the first time ! read more

What a great experience. Warm, lovely and attentive service and delicious food and wine. We were initially apprehensive about the slightly limited menu, but we loved every second of our experience. We will be back again. read more
