Sales personnel are friendly and personable. Store offers a good variety of lawn care brands at different price points within those brands. The main reason for giving a low rating is the Service Department... Purchased a riding mower / garden tractor in March 2019. In June 2019 the Power Take Off clutch failed. I took the mower back to Athens Lawn & Garden for repair. I was assured that warranty work, which this was, goes to the head of the line. Nine (9) weeks later .. that is not a misprint - 9 WEEKS LATER ... I get the mower back. Granted it is fixed (have yet to mow with it so I am making a huge good faith assumption here) but they had the mower for almost as long as I did before it broke. And, I had the problem already diagnosed for them when I dropped it off. The icing on the cake is that once they had the mower fixed NO ONE CALLED TO TELL ME THE MOWER IS FIXED COME PICK IT UP! I had to CALL THEM to find out it was fixed!!!! Absolute horrible experience from start to finish. I put this place in my rearview mirror and will never be back. I am in the market for a zero-turn mower and I can 100% guarantee I will not be purchasing one from Athens Lawn & Garden. If you enjoy being treated like yesterdays garbage then this is the place for you. If you expect a dealer to honor promises and commitments then save yourself a lot of grief and frustration and do not buy anything from Athens Lawn & Garden. read more

I made probably the worst purchase I've ever made in my life. Horrible customer service - only concerned with selling you a mower - not concerned about customer relations after the sell. Anytime you call with a problem, they blame it on you. I bought a Ferris 3 years ago and has been in the shop for over 10 weeks since I've owned it with multiple problems. Ended up taking it to a different dealer and I am much happier with that service - if you want a good dealer with great PR, go to SL Bowman in Rockwood, TN. Also, on a side note, the owner is extremely rude to his employees in front of customers and I would have backed out of the purchase if I hadn't of already signed the paperwork. They were also trashing other customers in front of us. read more
