Roberto saved me from another steroid shot! Although we couldn't replicate the pain during the day as the excruciating pain was most intense at night and especially upon trying to get out of bed in the morning Roberto did some research during his off time and was able to find a therapy that worked. I will be forever grateful that I was able to get relief without another steroid shot and was able to cancel my appt with the orthopedic surgeon. read more

The staff here is pretty good. They seemed to know what they were doing. What I don't care for is Athletico or the management. Say you have a 9am appointment. You get maybe a half hour of your appointment with your therapist. Then the therapist has his 9:30 appointment shows up. You get put on the back burner while he takes on the new one. So you'll be doing an exercise and you might be doing it wrong and no one says anything or you finish the required sets and have to get his attention. It's bothersome that there are other assistants there but they don't seem to know what exercise you're doing or the next exercise you should do so they can't help unless the main therapist tells them. And then the 10am appointment shows up. So now the therapist has 3 people he's working on. It's like the therapist is juggling what he was assigned and does the best he can but it's too much. So you pay full price but get 1/3 of the attention. It's nice they have free parking. I just wish they wouldn't load up the staff so you get the attention you pay for. read more

I was in therapy for both shoulders due to rotator cuff surgery and pain. My therapist was Nathan on most days and Araceli on others. I cannot speak up more about how much I appreciated their care. Nathan was tough but gosh does he know his profession. He pushed me to levels I hadn't been at for some time and has made it easier to be able to do things I have been restricted from. Nathan, I am so thankful that you helped me through it and pushed me to go just a little bit farther, the pain was intense but I'm feeling better. Araceli is just great and she too worked me to the limits. She's very personable and friendly and she shared her stories of her dog Lilly which I loved as I have pups too. Araceli, thank you for helping me and I see a great future for you! Your kindness and welcoming spirit are priceless! Overall the Garfield Ridge, Archer Avenue staff are really nice and their customer service is top notch! The girls at the front desk are nice and don't rush you through the check in. The other therapists were always helpful with making sure there were no gaps between each exercise and keeping everyone flowing through their routines to get in their scheduled time. I hope I can return after my upcoming surgery and if I do I will request Nathan and Araceli to get me back to myself and as close to 100% as I can get! read more

After hip surgery and a long bout with intractable pain, Rush Ortho Midwest/Chicago referred me to post-op physical therapy with Athletico in Garfield Ridge on Archer. Josie my PT and the entire staff at this facility are just amazing, skilled, caring and keep in contact with the doctor to monitor progress and to stay within the protocols for superior outcomes. I've had therapy with Josie long enough to see progress and if you're going to go to PT, have your Doc write an order for this Athletico on ArCher and see Josie, Monika or any of the amazing Physical Therpists. read more

I'd highly recommend therapy at athletico On archer Avenue. The office staff is very efficient and friendly. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes. I've been seeing Sarah (therapist ). Who is very knowledgeable and has helped me immensely- ( I wish I could go forever). The assistants are on the spot ready to Help. This is the place to go. Everyone is so kind and helpful. I've been going to this location for months. Elvis is the way to go. He took care of me for a few months then I got my ankle surgery and now I'm back to therapy. I requested to go back to this location and I asked for Elvis to be my therapist. He's knowledgeable, great, and has been really helpful throughout my therapy. He has worked with me and answers any questions or concerns I have and is also cool to talk to. I'm a big baby when it comes to my surgery and I completely trust Elvis to help me with my recovery. I also had an injury months back and don was my therapist for that. He was great and knew how to help with my injury every visit. He was very helpful to my recovery and also fun at the same time. Never a dull moment with don. Everyone is great here! read more

I have since been back to Athletico - to Jenny. I feel better every time I visit. The exercises they give you to do at home really help. Everything they have you do is specific to treat your ailment and you do feel the difference after awhile - just be patient. Comfortable atmosphere -- you become part of the family. This is a great fitness center in Garfield Ridge. I was at Gloss and someone from the neighborhood recommended it over Cardinal. Athletico is primarily a physical therapy/rehab place and, to my understanding, this is the only one in the City with a fitness center this size. It is big and clean. Tons of machines and free weights and child care. I can always get a machine. I am a fan of watching tv while I am on the elliptical and they have several tvs set up. They have showers and massage rooms as well. A great perk is that they do free physical therapy screenings for you. I twisted my knee on the ice and the fitness center staff made sure I got it looked at by a therapist. They have a real holistic approach there and really are concerned about your wellness and fitness. They have classes super early in the morning and then early in the evening. I only wish they had classes a little bit later in the evening, at least once in awhile. The parking lot is huge, another great perk! For $30 a month, I think this place is a great deal. read more

The staff at Athletico is amazing. Scott is great and always has a great personality and can lift your spirits when you're having a bad day. Jenna, Sarah and Richard have been instrumental in my rehabbing after a very traumatic accident. I hold them up in high regards and I'm thankful that God placed them in my life to help me get better. They're all great and bring special talents to help The patients get better, in body, mind and spirit. Sarah has treated me previously and knew right from the first appointment what the plan was to get me up and waking. I consider Sarah and Jenna as two special Angels that are helping me and making me whole again. Thank you and God bless you always. I love this place. I am a gym member and have been there for physical therapy quite a few times (ankle, arm- two surgeries, back, and hip). I love that the PT center is attached to the gym. The staff is friendly and the gym is clean. I do wish there was a pool. The physical therapists are great. Also, Rachel the massage therapist is a miracle worker. Dont bother with a spa. The rates are reasonable and the massage is better. She also works on the PT side so she is knowledgeable on how to work on people who have had injuries. read more

This this the worst physical therapy place I have ever been at. The staff is rude and condescending. The assistant's were horrible. You get handed off to one of them after a half hour. I slipped and fell because the assistant didn't bother to stand behind me during an exercise. They help 2 people at a time and are Not focused. I told an assistant I had alot of pain in my knee during one exercise and she ignored me. Idiots! They should not be paid and should be sued. I give this place a big zero. read more

I was referred to physical therapy because of a pinched nerve. The PT Jenny was excellent, while I was there she was able to relieve some of the pain I was having. She also gave me exercises to do at home which have helped. The only reason I knocked one star off is in the waiting area the chairs were not very clean. Maybe clean them daily? read more

This Athletico is a pretty nice place. Since the Cardinal Gym opened down the street, they have been struggling a little to drum up business for the gym side. It is a physical therapy place with the gym on the other side. The place is clean and one of the nice things is that it is almost always fairly empty. You will not have to wait to get on any of the equipment. They used to charge quite a bit a month but when Cardinal opened at 19.99 a month, they dropped their monthly membership fee. The only problem that I have with them, and a warning to any prospective customers, is that when my membership lapsed and I went back to re-sign up, the guy re-charged me the $100 initiation fee!? I had been going there for several years! I did not need to have any initiation and the guy knew it. He stated it was company policy. I believe the place was starving for income since a lot of people had transferred to Cardinal. I have to say to the Athletico staff that if he had not attempted to make the company a quick $100, I would have not signed up at Cardinal where I have been completely satisfied at $10 less a month. What a dope and a terrible business practice. At the time, Athletico membership was around $30 a month and I was completely ready to pay the extra $10 a month just because I was comfortable there. I was very insulted by the corporate greed trying to milk an extra $100 off a loyal customer. So I said C-Ya to them and that has now cost them way more than the measley $100 they attempted to scam off me. Just beware of their business practices, and a little suggestion to their manager Dan, talk to your employees and explain to them the value of loyal customers and the importance of keeping people signed up without the extra fees. You would have kept a customer for who knows how many years but no...you just needed that extra $100 so bad. Well I have had no problem giving my money to Cardinal who is just as good a facility as yours and less money. read more
