The place is pretty big with huge grounds and well maintained landscaping. This is a Catholic institution and has a Chapel on site. The place has a limited amount of parking available but the parking is FREE. The place is clean and the caregivers are competent and compassionate. He appears to be well taken care of. The food here is not appealing however and my friend doesn't eat much due to nausea , the result of various medical treatments he has undergone in recent months. As of now I'll give this place 4 stars. If they can get my friend ambulatory again I will give them five stars. In the meantime I'll pray for my friend's recovery.

I've been going there for 2 weeks now and I have to tell you, the person to see if you are having muscular pain issues is Tammy Gross-McCoy, PTA. Her knowledge of the human body is astounding. She can feel every muscle and joint in your body and apply the perfect pressure to relieve even the most intense pain that you are feeling. She is AMAZING! She doesn't rush you and is so gentle in her therapy. I'm having serious issues with my left shoulder and whenever I go see Tammy, my shoulder gets better and better with each visit. They are older, spent time in the hospital and are now here. They cannot get around themselves and we have tried to be there to help as much as possible, taking them into the general area for meals, getting them dressed. The rehab is going well but the other care has a lot to be desired. I've recently has surgery on my shoulder so I cannot help move or push a wheelchair. If I ask for help, no one has time. I stepped out for lunch hoping that that would prompt someone to take the opportunity to get them in a wheelchair and go into lunch. Nope- food tray to the room. This poor person will not be out of the bed today because no one has time and i physically can't do it. Do better... being under staffed is a country wide problem, but lack of care is not excusable. My husband has only one complaint the food has no salt, and that was after he'd been there for weeks. The staff was attentive, therapy was great. He had an acute illness which left him bedridden. He was bathed, turned, repositioned and medicated routinely and as needed. His call light was answered within a reasonable time. And he received therapy at least 3x week with him stating he got good work outs on his core and legs. He is satisfied and so I am pleased.

I informed him that there must've been a real concern with my brother because the nurse called twice, and I wanted to know if he could share the information with me as to what might be best described as urgent and important. His response to me was, " The dayshift has gone home so can you call back tomorrow?" I was devastated because I always assumed that you make rounds from one shift to the next and you share information about the residents. In addition to that I sent an email to the APERION CARE and ask that Someone reach out to me so that I could inform them of this situation. No one has done so to this date and that's been nearly a week now. Ms, Beth did reach out but it was regarding our Care Plan meeting and she did express empathy when I shared with her my concern regarding a very serious situation learning that my brother extracted his IV from his arm. As his POA and the family, we need to be informed. This was a serious lack of communication and one that I am not satisfied with. This SHOULD NOT be a subjective decision regarding informing the family. What is the level of training when a nurse doesn't seem to understand the importance of letting a family know when their loved one has removed his IV used to treat a serious infection.
