The spinal injury left me with a weak leg and I was unable to walk. After three hours of physical therapy and occupational therapy per day for two weeks, I was able to walk with a walker and I'm now at home. (To the cat's great relief.) Following the surgery I was not allowed to bend or twist my back or to lean. The physical and occupational therapists helped me understand what I was capable of and taught me new ways to perform daily tasks using devices such as a reacher to pick things up and a tool to put socks on. Everyone was caring, helpful, and supportive.

Given the relatively low price (compared to massage or private acupuncture - I had to give it a try. The treatment itself (applying the pins) doesn't hurt at all. And what I absolutely love is the relaxing environment - plush, huge leather recliners; dim lighting; soft music; and a feeling of safety and wellness. I worked right by here and would come over lunch. It was heaven. Unfortunately, it didn't help and the office moved downtown. I don't really live by this or the other location so I stopped treatment. Skip forward - after an MRI gave me the real diagnosis (hamstring) - and too much yoga (if there is such a thing) has kicked my pain into high gear, I decided to start up treatment again - if nothing else as part of my self care. Well-being treatment. The technician I see at this location is the same. But now I also visit the other location - depending on what is available on the schedule. Both are great places with equally soothing treatment rooms and skilled staff. I'm actually headed there now for my weekly treatment. I have been a regular ever since and can't say enough about the high level of care I receive at both the Westerville and Clintonville offices. The practitioners are experienced and kind. They've been able to make this needle-phobe quite comfortable with the process. Improvement did not happen overnight. It was slow and steady, with a hiccup every now and then. But being able to live the active lifestyle to which I am accustomed during my senior years means a great deal and the good folks at UAC have made that possible. The rest of the pain is still here and I think most of it comes from the fact that there are 3 doctors and non of them are really on the same page. The 3rd doctor I seen. I believe she was on the something with the accident pain and it coming from my Hip and effecting everything. The other 2 male docs... they never bothered really checking into it.
