It was a gorgeous hotel and beautiful room, situated a couple blocks away from the main Poeta, right in the heart of the city center. When we checked in, they gave us a welcome glass of cava in their beautiful courtyard. Our apartment had a large bedroom with queen bed, big living room with two twin beds off that room separated by a curtain, balcony, huge kitchen, and they provided a large bowl of fruit which we re-stocked during our stay from the local markets. Rick Steves says Poeta "captures the essence of Sevilla," and is "timeless elegance, in the heart of Santa Cruz, an old 17th century family mansion; tucked away among cobblestone streets; 17 rooms surround a tranquil central patio where guests relax and enjoy free evening classical guitar concerts. Fantastic view terrace and traditional Andalusian design." Totally agree with all of that. We enjoyed the classical Spanish guitar in the courtyard each evening while enjoying a glass of wine or cava. Absolutely recommend and would love to stay here on every future visit to Sevilla. Great service, too. Carmen, who checked us in was so calm and welcoming. It had been a hectic travel day, and she (or maybe it was the glass of cava?) calmed us right down. The next day, we had an issue w/ our tickets to the Alcazar, and Jose helped us retrieve them, too. Our bathroom was beautiful, but the floor of the shower was very slippery. We informed the front desk, and they sent someone to our room when we were out. My younger daughter, who does not speak much Spanish, let him in, but did not understand what he was saying. He proceeded to pantomime someone slipping. She woke up our older daughter, who speaks more Spanish, and said a man with a clipboard was in the living room. She told him: "Mi padre es loco," he laughed and put some non-slip strips down in the shower. Great stay.

Ton of nearby restaurants and bars, yet in a secluded street away from the noise. Live musical entertainment every night at 7:30PM in the courtyard. Solid breakfast buffet with eggs, pancakes, cereal, fresh fruits and juices, smoked salmon and more. Nicely appointed rooms with impeccable customer service. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

We did not really try the food while we were here but I'm sure that is good too! The best part about this spot is that it's really comfortable for sleeping or even just watching tv. I highly recommend this spot if you can swing the finances. We came during their offseason when it was super hot outside. The hotel was definitely a bargain for what I'm sure it normally goes for. But it sure was nice to be able to come back to a well air conditioned room after a long day outside. This spot gets five stars for great staff, amazing facilities and a wonderful location. I highly recommend giving it a try!!!

As an example - I asked for a glass of wine in the adorable hotel bar. "Red, please." The bartender asked what kind of red I wanted. I don't know Spanish wines well so just said I order Tempranillo back home. He proceeded to uncork two different bottles of Tempranillo from two different regions of Spain so I could taste each. They were both great but I favored one much more. He said he thought I'd like that one better but didn't want to say anything until I tasted them. My husband came down shortly thereafter and didn't want wine. The bartender suggested sangria - which my husband loves. Upon ordering, the bartender whipped up the sangria from scratch. They just make everything perfect at Hotel Gravina 51.

It was super clean, bright and airy, and had the perfect vibes for a Spanish summer vacation! We loved our stay and Sevilla has quickly become one of my new favorite cities. Nacho and his entire team are truly excellent and took amazing care of us. I will definitely be returning to this hotel next time we are in Sevilla. If ubering from airport or train station I'd highly recommend you have them drop you off around the corner as it is straight down an alley and a bit hard for cars to get to if they are unfamiliar with the area. Cobblestone lined street as well so careful with the luggage! :) If I could give this hotel 100 stars I WOULD!!! Don't think, just book it!

Truly we had all of a room's necessity to include a fridge and water. The bed was very comfortable and big enough for a couple. The hotel location provided a quiet location away from tourist/street noise but close to attractions such as the Cathedral and market area. I much appreciated the staff and their kindness. If you are in the hotel in the afternoon then stop by for free coffee, teas, water and pastries. Also take advantage of the middle court area for relaxation and photo opportunity.

My husband and I spent…read moreone night in Sevilla in October and he picked the hotel because he had visited the city previously. Once we arrived in Sevilla, it was pretty easy to find. We dropped off our rental at the airport and hopped on the bus that took you into the city. We got off at the San Sebastian stop and walked with our suitcases a few blocks up to the hotel. I also liked that it was walking distance from many of the sights we wanted to check out. We were able to walk to a Flamenco show, the Real Alcazar and the Cathedral. We also took some scooters to Plaza España. The hotel itself was more so a blocks of rooms in a neighborhood square connected with a labyrinth of courtyards and gardens. The rooftop was really neat, too. There are different levels where you can lay out in the sun near people or more privately. There is a pool that looked neat but we didn't have enough time to get in before our show. The hotel itself is clearly very old (by American standards at least) but well preserved and beautiful. The hotel piano bar in the second floor is a must see, too. Don't miss it! The rooms were surprisingly modern. The bathroom was very spacious. The bed was a little firmer than I would have liked but it wasn't a deal breaker by any means. I would definitely stay at this hotel again!

I was grateful for the valet parking, not so much by the €25 a day charge. The building itself seems to be a collection of buildings spread around a number of internal and external courtyards. Our room was accessible via a long and twisty underground tunnel that stretched for at least 300m passing the spa, various bric a brac bits and pieces, statues, fountains, peculiar display areas that may, or may not, have been shops or small boutiques. I've no idea. It's almost impossible to describe how bizarre and yet how charming it all was. After a while, though, I have to confess it became a bit of a schlepp. Our room was small but the bed was extremely comfortable with a queen size bed and a decent sized, well provisioned, en-suite bathroom. A piano bar on the first floor was both elegant and comfortable and we repaired there each evening after dinner in one of the fabulous restaurants within walking distance. The hotel also opened out onto a small plaza with plenty of outdoor bar and coffee options throughout the day and into the night. A couple of minutes away was the Cathedral and Alcazar as were numerous shops, bars, restaurants and ice cream parlours (a must). I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for a stay in Seville but leave the car at home,
