I have lived in 3 different countries on 2 different continents until now, and I thought moving to Zurich would be the same as it was for me in all my other moves. But, after some reading on the Internet and trying to book some appointments to see apartments, I realized it was not going to be the same as before and it was definitely not going to be easy, for a multitude of reasons: language, very different process for applying for an apartment, not knowing the area, where it is better to live and why, and it became increasingly clear I needed the help of an expert. This is when I started looking around for some help and found Aline Turley. In retrospect, if I would have to do it all again, from the start, I would do nothing different. I would like to highly recommend Aline to other people, who might be like I was in the beginning: highly untrusting that it is actually possible to find an apartment to match my criteria in the city of Zurich (or anywhere around it...) Aline started the house hunting process with me very methodically: she first made a budget for me and told me what is the maximum amount that I can afford for rent. I had also done this, but I had put estimates for expenses since I didn't know their actual value. Aline came in and told me what the actual value for my expenses was going to be, and told me about a few more I did not know existed! I then told her what I was looking for, and from then on she took care of everything (and much more): organizing visits to places (she was checking 3 websites that listed apartments multiple times per day for me), she came with me to visit the places, took care of the entire application process, from submitting it to following up with the landlords or rental agencies and in the end she got me the apartment of my dreams! From the beginning of this process and until the end, she always worked in my best interest, telling me where the apartments were not worth the asking price, which areas are dull to live in etc. I felt very taken care of, especially because she understood very well what moving entails, how stressful it is for people and she has always done her best to relieve most of this stress. She not only did the things we had contractually agreed on, but she also went much further than the proverbial extra mile, by helping me setup my phone, internet, register with the city hall, explain to me how the trash system and recycling works, get insurances for me, translating all the contracts from German to English and much more... She is very serious, honest and has a very good work ethic. I would very warmly recommend Aline, she is amazing and does not stop until her customer is extremely satisfied! Highly recommend Aline! I just relocated from San Francisco to Zurich alone a month ago. I don't speak or read German, and I had already heard the apartment market is very competitive here in Zurich. Aline was recommended by a couple of my coworkers had used her before, and they were very happy with her services. Relocating a family half way across the world from South Africa to Zurich, Switzerland could have been a real challenge especially with three children - Two sons 17 and 15 (difficult years to move) and a little girl who is two and half.
