We lost our house in the Marshall Fire and spent close to six figures with Atlas and their installers on our rebuild. Atlas' salesperson (Tommy) ordered the underlayment for our floor. This underlayment is not recommended by the manufacturer (Portercraft Floors). Frank LaCava installed the floor incorrectly and now it will need to be replaced. Nelson Melara installed our tile and the grout is soft/crumbling and will need to be replaced. Nelson is unresponsive and does not stand behind his work. read more

Atlas Flooring Boulder helped solve our strange problem. We bought a 'spec house' and the wall to wall carpeting over the first 2+ yrs of living there started to rise and cause ridges and bumps...to the point where I tripped one night and I called them to express my concerns. In 20+ yrs in construction management I've never seen carpets do this and indeed, after 3 visits by staff and inspectors, they honored the warranty (glue on back had failed) and replaced it at no charge. Atlas staff were calm and moved thru the process respectfully...and while it was a pain, at least all is safe now. Paul (the installer) and his team were perfectly professional and easy to work with. In the meantime, we elected to swap out the wall to wall in the master with a hardwood (on our dime) and are thrilled with that as well. Their installers are great and honest about their findings. I've used atlas flooring for two separate projects, one DIY tile and carpet removal and install of true hardwood. Leister give me some pointers on the easiest way to remove the old tile/carpet and install the new hardwoods. The second project was a re carpeting job on stairs and a basement the total turn around time was less than 24hours installers were polite fast and professional they even hauled away the old carpet and pad. There prices were great on both projects, fast responses on quotes/questions and quick turn around times on both jobs. Not many people do business like this anymore read more

Atlas Flooring has two big sales a year: May and October. I was smiled upon by the Fates who allowed my home remodel to align with the amazing sale in May. I got a smokin' deal on high quality carpet and vinyl, with a huge selection to choose from. If my budget had been bigger, I woulda' taken advantage of the tile, countertops and other super sales they had going on. I was in the store twice, and I worked with three different salesmen.... ...Ladies, heads up! I do mean sales MEN because there are no XX chromosomes anywhere in the vicinity of this store. When I politely asked why it was such--using nice words and my inside voice because I was the only woman in the store with about a dozen men--i was told by the very kind owner (he really is a nice guy) that "women just can't handle the job." So basically he's saying that women can run entire countries, but they can't order carpet? Ohhhhkay. Anyway, all of them were perfect gentlemen. They were experienced, knowledgeable, and helpful. They were kind and professional. The installers contacted me immediately and took careful measurements. Everyone followed through and did their job well. Now I'm waiting for the carpet to be installed. We've had a slight delay in the remodel (surprise! cause that never happens). I'll keep you posted on the finish. So far, I would highly recommend Atlas, unless you have a problem dealing with very nice men who completely and totally exclude women from their business. If I had known ahead of time that this business practiced sexism, I probably would've gone somewhere else. But it's too late now, the deal is done, I didn't know ahead of time, and I sure got a great deal, and great service! read more

I've worked with Atlas several times and always had exceptional service, so I don't know what possessed me to try to order carpet through the Home Depot for my rental unit. Actually, I do know, it was because I was tight on money and wanted to take advantage of their 12-month no-interest financing deal. I also had a small window for the install, with one tenant moving out on a Friday and the new one moving in on Sunday. I won't bore you with the details, and I don't mean to write a bad review of Home Depot since everyone I dealt with was very nice, but suffice it to say I dealt with no fewer than 8 different people in 4 or 5 departments over the course of 2 weeks, only to be told that my "in stock" carpet with the "7 day guaranteed install" could not be done on the day I needed it. I promptly cancelled my order with HD and went straight back to Atlas, and I'm soooo glad I did. With Atlas, there's no BS. The carpet that's "in stock" is available the next day if needed (or probably even the same day!). I dealt with ONE salesman (who was fabulous), who put me in touch directly with the installer, and I was able to talk him directly about schedules and pricing. It was so easy, I couldn't believe I hadn't just gone with them in the first place. Even though it was totally last-minute at this point, the installer said "no problem" to squeeze me in on a Saturday morning with 4 days notice. He came by a few days later to do a quick measure, and showed up on time as promised to do the install. He was reassuring and friendly both times I met with him, and everything looked perfect when his team left the house after the installation was complete. All I can say is lesson learned: If you want personal service, go local and not to the big box store. I'd recommend these guys to anyone. read more

Best place to get tile in Boulder with good installer referrals if needed.

Atlas had been recommended to us for flooring, and we decided to use them as a supplier for our LVT and carpet purchase. The purchase went very smoothly. The Atlas employees were friendly, helpful and thoroughly knowledgeable about the products they sell. They recommended a contractor to install the products, and Levi with HB Flooring did an outstanding job on the project. The work was done at a mountain cabin built in the early 60s. Naturally, in a job like that, surprises are the norm. Nonetheless, Levi and his brother addressed the challenges and produced an outstanding installation. We left the cabin open for them to work for the entire week. The cabin and contents were respected and the job site was left perfectly clean. Thank you! read more

After reading the reviews, I decided to try Atlas for my new carpet. The experience in the store was okay. I took a couple of samples home to try. I called my salesperson to order and left a message three times before he finally called me back two weeks later. Since he was cheaper than another store in Boulder, I decided to give him the order. But when he told me I "had" to put 100% down, I decided not to go with them. If they won't even call you back to get an order, I felt he'd never call me back if there was a problem with instillation or the carpet. I bought it from another carpet store for a little cheaper without having to give 100% down. read more

We went to Atlas because of positive reviews of price, customer service, the usual. Our experience has been anything but positive. We finally did pick out a laminate flooring product after looking at samples in the showroom. We went back, told them our choice, and asked them to arrange for someone to come and measure for the labor estimate. Two days later, we got a message that the product had been discontinued. So, we asked, why were the samples on the floor in the first place? So, they tried to find a stockpile somewhere, but after a few more days, no luck. So back my wife went to look at more product that would work. Selected another product, but this one was more expensive, but at this point..... So, we finally get an installer to come by AFTER repeated calls to both him and the store. My wife goes back up to pay for the product, and we discover that the invoice is written up for an incorrect price--more expensive, of course. So, that gets straightened out. Now we are dealing with the part time installer who is on contract with you, but with whom we have had some trouble connecting and coordinating. I am convinced that if this was a 10,000 dollar job at a new house, boy, would the communication lines be open and flowing. But because this is a 6 by 15 laundry room...small potatoes...boy, did we we have to chase the staff, and we felt we should not have had to be in charge of directly scheduling with the installer. I would never go back to this store; I would never recommend this store to anyone. I will be informing my neighborhood email forum in Lafayette about this experience in the hope that no one has to go through this much trouble for a small remodel job. My main hope is the folks Atlas read this review and take the steps necessary to improve their operational and sales procedures. ADDENDUM TO THIS REVIEW. AND IT IS A GOOD ENDING. I would like to report, in all fairness to the folks at Atlas Flooring, that I received messages from the owner of the Atlas Flooring indicating that he was upset with the way this retail experience unfolded, and was wanting to work with us to make us happy, and to address the issues that were raised. We communicated over several emails, all of which made it clear that the owner was committed to speaking with his staff and making whatever changes needed to be made. My wife spoke with him this morning. He was apologetic, professional and wanting to make sure we were happy with the changes and offers of help to see that we had a positive experience. I am impressed with the owner. He was sincere in his desire to listen to our concerns and to speak with his staff about making the necessary modifications to ensure this kind of experience didn't occur again. And any business that is that prompt in contacting a disgruntled customer and that insistent on making things right deserves the public's business. After this experience with him, we would not hesitate to go back to Atlas for our flooring needs in the future. Customer service is a huge priority with us and determines where we spend our money, even if it is ultimately more expensive. I commend the owner for his actions. read more

I went into the store and had a good experience getting the process started, but actually getting someone to call me to schedule a visit for a quote was painful. I still haven't received a call back to schedule anything after 2 weeks after calling them to follow up. Considering their customer service is this lackluster, maybe it's not a bad thing that I wouldn't be dropping thousands on carpet and install with them. read more

My fiance and I were completely remodeling our home and needed wood floors, bathroom tile, shower tile, and cabinets. We were referred to Atlas Flooring and we are so glad we decided to go with them! Everyone at this company is so friendly and so helpful from the second you walk into the door which made the project a lot more bearable. They have a nice selection of wood floors and they were a lot cheaper than everywhere else we looked! The staff was very knowledgeable and helped us pick the right kind of wood for our lifestyle (we were getting a German Shepherd and didn't want the floors to scratch). We brought in our floor plans from our architect and Leister Bowling designed our cabinets in minutes! I paid via credit card over the phone, and when they sent the receipt, my husband thought it was a bill and sent them a check. Bought hardwood flooring here, but when I got it home and opened the boxes the color was not even close to the sample that I was given in the store. I tried to return the flooring,but got no response for several months from my sales person thru a series of emails that never really answered any of my questions or addressed the basic problem. Three months later I received an email with the standard reply: "The manufacturer would not take the order back due to the color of the stain". Kind of my point to begin with, right ??? Will never set foot in this business again and would highly recommend going somewhere that actually has a real return policy. read more

I had a flood in my home and I didn't need to tear out the carpet on the stairs, just the floor. I called the place I had bought the carpet from, to just recarpet the floor and not the stairs. They gave me a quote of $830.00. I got another quote from Home Depot for 1500.00 for the floor and the stairs. I stopped in this place, I got the floor and the stairs for $750, even though the installer estimated 9 Square Yards over what I needed, and the carpet I received was superior in quality then either of the previous estimates. The customer service was phenomenal. The installer was well skilled and did a great job. I'd rate it 10 stars if I could. read more
