I literally travelled Italy for three weeks and nothing came close to the incredible cuisine here. Try the pizza, try the pasta, whatever you do, try something. They take reservations and even if you don't have one, you can try to get on a waiting list. It's well worth it. Another tip is to come for lunch. For dessert, order the cafe gourmand, which is coffee and a few miniature desserts curated by the chef. You can also sit at the chef's table and watch everyone cook! Fun fact, this restaurant is named after St. Roch (Rocco, in Italian), Montpellier's patron saint. He has a very interesting story, definitely look him up if you're in town.

We found this place not far from Maison Carree, and were lucky to be sat right when they opened without a reservation because the place quickly filled up and other patrons were being turned away. We got a negroni and an aperol spritz to start; both were great. The antipasti course of olives had some spicy crackers that we loved and a small bowl of cured meats in olive oil that we had never tried before. Certain pieces were a bit too chewy for us. We got a burrata salad, which was spectacularly delicious (fresh tomatoes, greens, a nice dressing all on top of an interesting flatbread). We were just a bit disappointed that the burrata was served cold and that there wasn't any avocado (unless we misread the menu???). The prosciutto and mushroom pizza we got was near perfect--so damn fresh and good. Our daughter had a chicken breast with some fries and was happy. Dessert was a scoop of strawberry for the little one and tiramisu for us. The latter was wonderful. Service was mostly great, but started to fall apart as the place got busy.
