We scheduled a phone call with him due to COVID and was patient as we worked out the three way calling between my office, his office, and my wife at home. He gave a high level overview of the process and conversation we were going to have, then filled in some of the details, and then walked us through each step asking us questions about what we wanted and what our goals were. We had a less than typical case and he recognized that a traditional will was not the best option and helped us set up a trust. He asked lots of questions and allowed us to as well. It was a very collaborative process. He had the documents drafted and sent to us quickly. Due to an error on our end, we didn't realize we had them for a few days, but when we realized it, we reviewed the drafts and were happily surprised at the small details included that we had never thought of. He was patient with our (mostly mine) several emails asking questions and requesting clarification and answering hypotheticals. Once we were satisfied, we scheduled a convenient time for us to go in and sign. Being a good attorney Jed does not let any case reach resolution as long as there are billable hours left to invoice. He works in tandem with the other attorneys to make sure both sides prosper for doing as little as possible and at the full expense of his client. Jed is damn good at his job and his fabrication skills along with the wide variety of untruths he customizes upon their utterance are proprietary services offered by Nixon Law that have been practiced and perfected over the years. He utilizes these skills to benefit himself by pleasing the prosecuting attorneys to whom he owes his job to. A never ending barrage of useless word vomit meant to lend credence to implication he has read your file is another skillset Jed has worked to perfect while his abject fear of exculpatory evidence keeps him from ever opening the case file. Jed prides himself in remaining blissfully ignorant of any facts that could damage the prosecuting attorneys case against his client. He waited until he got my money ($14,000 cash in total) and then let me know he was going to drop me as his client right after a court hearing with no warning. His reason? Since I had recently quit a toxic job, he was concerned that I would no longer be able to pay him. The nerve for him to say this after me giving him my life savings to help me get my child back. He told me he would have to file a motion to withdraw as my attorney, and that I had to sign it and agree, otherwise he would "take me on in court and I wouldn't stand a chance against him." I later realized I had the right to not let him withdraw as my attorney at that point, as we were headed for a trial in just a few months, but he lied to me and basically told me I had no choice. Not only this, but he failed in every way possible as my attorney. He did absolutely nothing to help my case. At one point, I kid you not, he referred to himself as a "Ferrari driving you to Vegas that needs to be filled with premium gasoline"....when I asked him why his going rate was $450 an hour when all he did during the time I was with him is play on his tablet, brag about himself, and use AI to write his paperwork in court. He is a complete narcissist and also formerly a judge from California. He decided to become a lawyer just for the money, and it shows. He doesn't care about people, or families, or integrity. I was pleasantly surprised upon meeting Kelso, noting how down-to-earth and personable he was. His humor certainly helped to cut through the stress of the situation in which I was involved. Although my case (due to the judge's failure to adhere to state laws and flawed system) did not have the result I wished for, Kelso never once stooped to slimy measures and always interacted with the opposing party in an upright manner, which was vitally important to me.
