Throughout my case, my ex-husband was permitted to disregard provisions of our stipulation without consequences, and Kevin failed to hold him accountable for his repeated noncompliance. Instead of protecting my interests and those of my children, I was often left feeling disregarded, silenced, and was verbally abused. Kevin also intimidated me into believing that I had no choice but to leave the marital home with my children and that I had no profit from the sale of the marital home either. He lied to me! As a result, we were forced to vacate which ultimately led to homelessness and tremendous hardship for my children & I. Just so everyone understands, child support and spousal maintenance issues cannot be litigated for 3 years, or under significant circumstances, so it's important to make the right decision from the beginning during your divorce. And regarding spousal maintenance, I should've received 5 years, but Kevin said I was only entitled to 2 1/2 years. The consequences of poor representation can follow you for years. Anyone reading this should do their own research, including researching AI and other resources, before simply believing everything an attorney says. Kevin was unprofessional and stated he's not a trial litigator so he preferred to settle the case. He manipulated me under duress, causing me so much distress into a settlement under false pretenses, and NOTHING in my favor.
