When we went to my pre-trial, the State's Attorney came at me with additional charges that included the possibility of jail time. Walking out of that courtroom, I felt like my world had been turned upside down. For months, I barely slept. To make things even more stressful, my trial was scheduled right in the middle of a long-planned family vacation. I was supposed to leave the vacation a day early just to make it back for court. During the consultation I was given the appearance that the firm was a professional firm that was willing to assist with our needs. After being quoted a price and required documentation I made the decision to use this firm and what a mistake. My first appointment I was left standing at the door waiting so the assistant ( his wife) could put her child in the bus. I am always contacted at the last min and asked to produce documents within a moments notice so that the can file them before the court closes at 5pm. When reading over documents I have found errors that needed to be corrected and resubmitted. They are constantly missing deadlines to file motions on my behalf even though they were also notified. I have to constantly call and complaint or demand results before I EVER get a response or follow up phone call from Mr. Morris himself. Nor am I ever properly updated on my case. I was even told "well you are not our only client" but when I pay my money I should feel like I am. After my experience with this case and once complete, I will never be a returning client! Ms Duca confirmed the trust had been received and would be reviewed prior to 2pm consultation with Attorney Smith. To my disappointment I was informed by Attorney Smith during the first few minutes of the consultation that she DOES NOT review ANY documents prepared by another attorney's office due to her liability risk. Attorney Smith's legal assistant should know the attorney's policy on this matter. Alexandra Duca knowingly indicated the trust documents would be reviewed to prepare for the consultation. This was a waste of time and money . The $400 fee can easily be replaced with more money. However my time, I can not replace. I had such great excitement to support a female owned black business. However I am disappointed that there was not even an apology for misleading me. Law Office of Elsa Smith and anyone else reading my comments please use my experience to make wise choices.
