This place seemed to be frequented by a lot of locals and a little off the tourist path so we decided to go for it. They also apparently deliver but they don't speak much English and I don't speak much French so I think the language barrier would have made calling an order in a bit difficult - and it was a nice walk that burned off some of the upcoming calories that I was about to ingest. The pizza was thin crust with minimal toppings and cooked in an old brick oven and it was great. There were a lot of choices/combinations available and that included red or white sauce options. We had two different small pizzas and a house salad and I have to say these were larger than any small pizza I have ever ordered in the US. The toppings were clearly very good quality and the crust had a nice char and chew. The leftovers even tasted great for breakfast the next morning.

My waitress who was also the hostess was seemingly the only person working in the restaurant besides the chef in the back making the pizza. She was kind and patient with me as I barely speak french. They were very busy which I assume caused some delay for my food but I was so caught up in enjoying the atmosphere and overall vibe that it didn't cross my mind once. When my pizza arrived it was beautiful and delicious. When it came time to pay, the waitress told me that my glass of wine was on the house because I waited so long for my food. I tried to tell her that I would like to pay full price because I didn't mind but with her speaking little english and my little french, it got lost in communication. All this to say I will absolutely be returning for dinner soon and would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a good meal in good company.

Luckily, one of our hotel staff mentioned that we may have luck in Orange - it was already after 9pm on Tuesday evening, but ONE restaurant was open until 11pm... Chez Rene. Upon arrival the hostess/waitress greeted us and was very accommodating. The chef/owner, I believe, was gracious and patient with us while we placed our order. The food was Italian and decent, and because the staff was so helpful, I must give this restaurant 5 stars! Merci!

After we finished he told us to follow him out to the back of his shop. I thought he was going to give us pasta or drugs. Instead he pulled out the worst guitar I have ever seen. It had four strings and looked 80 years old. He tuned the guitar and unleashed a devastating solo. It was all magnificent.

Large outdoor dining on roof. 8-10 tables inside. Full bar. Traveling carnival across the street lent an incredibly exciting atmosphere. Cook staff only spoke French but our lovely waitress could communicate well in English. 8-10 different pizzas and we didn't look at other options. Four different wines in each category so we chose the local white. Very nice. We planned on sharing a pizza but waitress convinced us we needed two. In the end we each ate half and I had pizza for my petite dejener this morning. We seemed to be the only Americans there which I like and indicates it's not a tourist place. Pizza was thin in center, requiring knife and fork, but a nice, thick, perfectly cooked crust allowed finishing it off by hand. All in all, a tasty, fairly priced interlude. €66 for two 12", multiple ingredient pizzas, a full bottle of wine, a liter of San Pelegrín and one of those tiny French coffees that I'm developing a taste for.
