Atmosphere - Small place, truly a neighborhood bar. The place is covered with the little metals signs that make you smile when you read them. They even had a disco ball in the corner. Food Drink - Maredsous Triple, Belgium beer. The beer list was good. Some beers I can get in the states, others I never heard of before like the beer I am having tonight. Dinner - This a burger bar. I went for the burger named for the place, Rem. My French language skills are nonexistent and the menu was only in French. I ordered the burger named after the place, it must be good. And I was not wrong. I was pleasantly surprised with the fried egg on top. I do love so gooey eggness on top of my burger. The bun was a little different than I am use too but I enjoyed it. Service - Our waiter was good, his English was not perfect but his smile and laughter made everything better. Future - Sure

Wow! I stumbled across this little bar whilst wandering along the river in Lyon. I consider myself…read moreto be somewhat a connoisseur of burgers so I was quite excited to be able to taste a burger in the gourmet capital of France. And boy do they live up to being gourmet standard! I started off with the Mexican burger. Just the right balance of flavours. The bread was delicious, the meat cooked exactly as requested and perhaps the best fries I have ever eaten! As it turned out I had such a nice time at Rem's bar (the staff were excellent hosts attentive, funny and a great source of information) that I ended up eating dinner there too. Time for a second burger. This time the cheese. If possible it was even more delightful than the first. Finished off with a slice of amazing chocolate cake (pictured) and several pints of Guinness. (The Guinness was kept perfectly by the way and tastes just like home!) If you find yourself slightly away from the centre of Lyon, or just want to taste the best burgers in France then I would recommend walking off the beaten track and seeking out Rem's bar you wont be disappointed!

If it wasn't for quick internet banking, I would never have known. Although she didn't have an apology, when I showed her the discrepancy, she quickly went to the till and give me a Euro!

Never will I forget the bone chilling scream of my son in my wife's arms. Staff was of little assistance. The so-called manager, "Liam" was violently drunk. He was telling me that the supposed assailant had fled the scene, then a moment later, "he was in handcuffs, downstairs". It was evident who actually threw the glass. This particular individual was merely trying to dissimulate the situation. We received no official apology from the establishment. We left feeling sick and confused. The owner(s) were nowhere to be seen, although, reading these reviews it seems that this "Liam" was indeed the owner. Wonderful. How could this happen to us? How could this happen to a child? And how can a person get away with such abhorrent behaviour? These were questions that haunted us and which lead me to write this review. To all potential customers, I would recommend you look elsewhere for an evening pint. I tend to believe that most people would not support this cowardly act. To the James Joyce Pub, I expect an apology. I can be contacted by email, facebook, instagram and whatsApp. There is no excuse. To my son, I apologise that I could not protect you.
