The food was amazing. My favorite dish was a shrimp appetizer. Cold, with avocado and pesto. Salmon filet served with zucchini was delicious followed by cafe gourmand. Highly recommend. Great service, gave us the time we needed to savor our meal. This was located outside our hotel so the location was perfect. read more

After a day of shopping, we were overwhelmed with restaurant choices as we walked around the plaza, but finally decided on Au Chien Qui Fume because of the beautiful pink flowers outside. We were greeted by the server and given menus (they had some in English too, I believe). We ordered the Regina Pizza (mushrooms, jambon, olives, and cheese), the green salad, and the (French) onion soup (it turns out in France, it's just called Onion Soup, go figure), as well as some wine (because wine-not). The wine was priced perfectly and tasted even better. The salad seemed to have a mayo-based dressing; that's not really my thing but it was still good. The onion soup was exactly what I wanted it be - rich, comforting, and oh so tasty. (I don't care to know how much butter is in this dish, but I can assure you that you'll taste it.) The pizza was perfection - very good crust, just the right amount of crunch and amount of sauce-less bread on the edges. The burrata in the middle was a delicious surprise! The prices are a little high here because of the location, but if you're out shopping and need to nosh, this is a great stop. The service was good - the server forgot our water a few times but we weren't in a hurry so not a big deal. English-speaking? For the most part, yes. read more

We were mightily pissed when the maitre d said there is no available table indoor despite our booking . It's a chilly night and he put us in the outdoor drinking tables . We would have left if not for our kids being tired and hungry after our excellent cruise at Pont Neuf. We ordered smoke salmon and onion soup as entree; duck confit chicken as well as beef tartare as mains. The onion soup was not even grilled hot enough with minimal cheese. I could have done better cooking it at home. The chicken was dry while duck confit was acceptable. The steak tartare was not bad. The wine we ordered on the wine list was not available so they substituted with another which was lacklustre. The waiter was not bad but all in all paying over 110 euro for 3 pax sitting in a tiny table and almost freezing made it not enjoyable to say the least . Will never go . I suspect they are racist too as after they seated us out side, two tourists wandered in and not being Asian they were immediately led to a cosy inside table. So stay off this restaurant !!! read more

A friend who was in Paris in March recommended this restaurant. We all enjoyed our meals. My daughters both had the starter quesadilla for their dinner and loved it. Said the cheese was like fondue. I had the cheeseburger which was good but the fries were to die for. Figures...FRENCH fries. There was a weird cheese sauce in place of a slice - I just scraped it off. My husband ordered the salmon burger. It was great he said. But beware, it is strips of raw salmon. The best part of the restaurant was the service. We had one weekend to spend in Paris and every meal was quite spontaneous. It worked out beautifully in the end! Bf can speak very little French but was able to possibly fool the waitress into thinking we knew French... which was very smart because then we had no idea what the food was or how to order... hahah! Anyway, we finally gave in and spoke English. The waiter was very friendly and helpful, and told us that the man dining next to us was the restaurant owner- that was pretty cool! He and his wife were very friendly and warm. We ordered the osso bucco and mussels. The mussels were creamy and wonderful. I've had mussels twice in the states and they were nothing compared to these melt in your mouth morsels! Very fantastic, and a nice price. I had the osso bucco (recommended by the waiter and restaurant owner who also ordered it)... I didn't even know what to expect, but the meat was juicy and so tender. I absolutely loved the tomato-y sauce it was covered in, and there was also a side of noodles with extra sauce. We had just flown all night, took the bus from CDG to our hotel, were both hungry and wanted a bite to eat. This place was literally around the corner from the hotel. I had the cheeseburger and a brew (of course). The beer was actually better than the burger. My GF had a nicoise salad. It was pretty good, not off the charts. Your standard Brasserie. If we weren't so hungry we may have searched a little harder. read more

We stopped here for dinner one night since it was very close to our hotel. I ordered their special of the day, which was lobster with rice. It was delicious, as were the other dishes my family ordered. In fact, we enjoyed our dinner so much that we stopped by here again the next day for lunch. I got this salmon pasta, which was very good. Service here is quick and the waiters and waitresses are extremely polite and accommodating. On our lunch visit our waitress spoke very little English, yet was able to get things right and checked on us many times. I truly recommend this place to anyone in Paris. Sure Au Chien qui Fume is a small cafe, but their food speaks volumes. The food is great. read more

First place we ate when we travelled to Paris, the manager and server were very welcoming. Food was amazing as well.

I came here twice with my godmother and mother and both times we enjoyed it so much. The salmon was to die for and it just was absolutely delicious.
