This shop would seem better if it was kept clean and more tidy but due to the number of people going through the doors the staff are struggling. Could also do with signs on ailses to help navigate easier around the store.

This is probably one of the most maverick and unconventional Wilko stores I have visited, the main…read morebranch in Sheffield city centre - the store is over two floors and it is the first time I have ever seen a Wilko branch contain a Post Office, toilets and Cafe - although the latter two seem to close really early including the toilets a good 2 hours or so before the store closes which for me lowers that benefits - the only toilet which is open throughout the store is the disabled toilet which appears to be used for storage making it a nightmare for anyone, let alone a disabled person of which the toilet is designed for. The store being on Haymarket perhaps isn't the best location within the city centre, as it is a stop on the tram or a good 5-10 minute walk from the rest of the city's main shopping areas including The Moor and Fargate, the whole area seems a little rough including the nearby Hilton Sheffield - which of course lowers the overall feel of the store as it feels like the backstreets of a third world country rather than a city centre of the largest and main town of the South Yorkshire region. The staff didn't seem too friendly or helpful - the overall product range was okay but again the layout was confusing including one way in one way out forcing you to buy something - again this is a traditional method Wilko use in many of their stores but surely this adds extra inconvenience to customers just coming in perhaps to use the Cafe (at its' limited hours) or the Post Office who obviously have no need to wait at the crowded checkouts? Not in the best location in Sheffield but still central nonetheless, also let down by its' store layout and perhaps offering too much than it is able to cope with - proof of this is closing many facilities early or having different timings which don't seem to work out. 2*

The stock changes regularly depending on what they are able to get in. This store is big, bright and fairly well laid out and easy to manoeuvre around. There is plenty of confectionary and some staple goods and beer and wine. This store has a good home wear section from bedding to cushions to pots and pans. The prices are excellent as the name is a give away, its worth having a look to see what they have before going on a food shop as it could save a bit also can help towards getting presents, as they have U2 books and high school musical goodies and other children's goods.

This is a shop that stocks all sorts of stuff at bargain prices. Toys, toiletries, food, household goods - often top quality branded items at knockdown prices. There's a load of staple items that you'll always find in store - but they constantly get new deliveries, and that's where the fun starts. You never know quite what you're going to find. Many of the new finds are placed at the beginning of the first aisle as you enter the store - but others are cunningly hidden throughout the shop, so it's important to go down each aisle just in case. In addition, not all stores get the same items - so it can be nail-biting trying to find that elusive item you've read about on a web forum. One downside of all this is that it's difficult to go armed with a shopping list - and you always end up buying more than you'd intended. The Hillsborough store is fairly standard as far as Home Bargains stores go. Unlike some other Home Bargains stores they do stock alcohol, though as there is no parking at the store, it's best to take someone with strong arms if you intend to stock up on booze - or try the Sheffield Parkway store. It does get very busy and for some reason this store does tend to attract people who like to barge past you in the aisles and reach across you to get stuff without an 'excuse me' or a 'sorry'. The queues at the tills can be long and slow, and the staff often seem to be grumpier than most. This aside, I'm prepared for the extra wait and the extra miserable staff just to get my hands on all those lovely bargains!

great place for all houshold needs…read more bedding, BEDS!, curtains, towels pretty much anything you need the prices are brilliant and theres always an offer on one thing or another. the staff are very friendly, polite and always willing to let a hand if theres somethng you cant find. a brilliant shop and very well laid out. really pushchair friendly too
