Surprisingly, portions were very large and I had to leave part of my entree and main course (rabbit) on the plate to save room for what's to come. I thankfully ordered a souffle for dessert which was phenomenal but also not terribly filling. My wife enjoyed her meal of gazpacho (clearly it was tomato season across Normandy) followed by a well-cooked local fish, and our wine pairings were very reasonably priced and incredibly well chosen to match our food. Just about everything about this restaurant lived up to its Michelin star designation, though surprisingly there were 2 tables (at lunch) with young children and one across from us where an older woman actually brought her dog in with her. The children for the most part and even the dog were very well behaved though and I like that they're open to both dining at a Michelin starred restaurant. I think my dog may need to take French lessons.

It seemed that once we showed that we were not going to be "pesky Americans" they softened up to us! Let me tell you, the food was superb. Probably our best meal we ate on our entire trip to Europe. We had a bruschetta appetizer, escargot, steaks and baked potatoes, and an apple dessert. The sour cream was homemade cream- amazing. Our waiter (one of the owners) informed us that the apples in our dessert came right off of a tree out back (he spoke a little bit of broken English and started trying to use it later in the meal to communicate a little better with us). Additionally, the sun was setting outside, and the view was just gorgeous. I had a fixed menu that include lasagna, veal, and chocolate cake. Everything was well made and finely crafted. The chocolate cake with red berry sauce was out of this world! Highly recommend. It is fairly close to Lisieux if you are in the area. Prices are relatively reasonable compared to what you would pay for the same cuisine in America.
