Pros: I have been at Newport for a year and a half and have…read moreloved it. The lawn is well kept. Work orders are taken care of immediately. I've never had an issue of a work order taking days or weeks like I've read about other apartments. It's a pretty quiet and cozy community. They have a pool. They have covered parking. Every resident gets one covered parking space which makes it nice when we have storms, especially those involving hail. Kirsten is an exceptional manager and gets things done on the fly. I really do recommend Newport apartments. Quiet hours are from 10:00 until 7:00, which is reasonable. No partying allowed during quiet hours, which I love because I don't have to deal with insomnia from people up at all hours of the night. I have a wonderful neighbor across from me who keeps watch over the place and we're friends. People are generally friendly here. Management and crew are friendly and jump on each task ASAP. This is such a huge thing for me. Management really bends over backwards to please its residents. Cons: There are several irresponsible pet owners who don't clean up after their pets so you have to watch where you step constantly. Their info on the search engine says it's 250 for a pet but it's actually 500 dollars for a pet--nonrefundable. If their washers and dryers break down, count on them being out for about a year. It's been almost a year since all washers but two, and two of the four dryers broke down and they still aren't fixed. To be fair, a manager said it is the company that owns the machines that is slacking and they've called several times to get them to come fix them. So, having your own washer and dryer would be a recommendation. You'll get the occasional loud, careless neighbor. I actually had one that lived above me that let her husky urinate on her balcony so it poured through onto my patio and soaked my patio and sliding doors. It was disgusting. BUT management took immediate action once I showed them the video and pictures. You can't base the quality of an apartment complex on which neighbors you get. Some are assholes. Some are really sweet. THE PROS FAR OUTWEIGH THE CONS. GIVE NEWPORT A TRY!

Also, the other tenants are extremely loud and disruptive by banging on walls/ceilings. When I tried to let the office know how the family below were acting they said it wasn't their problem and to tell them to quiet down ourselves.

The receptionist gave us a quote of $160 for a livingroom and three bedrooms. We asked about the small hallways (which a small sections between the bedrooms and the livinroom) and she said if they are small enough he may throw them in, but they would be $40, so we are at $200 now... maybe. Richard, the owner, arrived with another gentlemen both friendly and respectful. He immediately informed me that our living room was too large for the quoted living room and that the hallways would not be included and now we are at $260. Then found out that the quoted number is only a cleaning and there would be no protectant that would be another $150. I couldn't pull that trigger at that time so I had him go ahead with the cleaning. I needed to pay with a credit card and that was another charge. I didn't have any other form of payment at that moment so I had to pay that too. Final bill 268.89. My problem here was that the person answering the phone should have communicated a few things up front. Be sure to get an in-person quote and ask more questions should you choose to do business here. The other gentleman was obviously being trained and I could hear quite a few corrections. This gave me a little pause to the process, but I trusted that Richard would make sure that it was done correctly. When they left I was told about 2 hours and we can put all our furniture back and walk on it. Before they arrived my wife had spilled a small amount of diet soda on the floor near our bed in the bedroom. It wasn't much and the floor was about to be cleaned, so she left it. But as we were putting the furniture back we noticed that that spot was still there. If you know how easy to clean up diet soda is then you can see how this is a concern. I called the main number and spoke with the receptionist and explained my concerns, and she said she could schedule them to come out again, but we didn't need that. I didn't really trust the system at this point. We were able to clean that spot up easy, and it made me feel as though there could be more issues through the rest of my house that were not cleaned. She gave me Richard's number and I called him. Richard answer was that sometimes we make mistakes, and that we may have missed it. I asked if they go over the entire carpet and he said that they do, but some spots need to be worked more than others. He offered no solutions, and thanked me for my opinion. Always friendly. I do not trust that this system cleans your carpet if it did not remove a simple soda spill from that same morning. OR they a missing large sections when they clean. either way I would not recommend this company based on my experience. I give the extra star for being professional.

I would recommend Amarillo Chem-Dry over any other carpet business in town. My carpets were dry in…read morea few hours and they look like new! I was so impressed! The owner couldn't have been more knowledgeable in stain removal and got all of the stains out of my high traffic area.
