The guide book in our guest house recommended this as their favourite restaurant in the area and I can see why.
The feature of this restaurant is the many dishes that are 'cuit au feu de bois' in a small open pavilion adjacent the open air dining area. The dining courtyard is well protected from the hot southern French sun by leafy trees and diners are kept cool by a refreshing misting system that skirts this area. The setting is relaxed and informal whilst maintaining an air of refinement.
The food is very simple, but it is very fresh and well balanced. The menu is not too extensive, which means the food is likely to be very fresh ( ie gets turned over regularly). I had the lamb cooked over the fire which was excellent.
Service is friendly and considerate of the language challenged. The staff look at ease which makes for a relaxed atmosphere. It was particularly refreshing to have 'une carafe d'eau' placed on the table without asking and for it to be replaced without asking.
All in all very satisfying and very good value. We would not hesitate to go back. read more
