The service was excellent, any questions we had wer perfectly answered and they catered to any requirements that we had. There was no problem in communicating in English with either the staff or Joss (who is much better than he lets on!!) The food..... Wow, the starter was by far the best we have ever had!! A great mixture and so much!! Nothing was left though. We had a selection of three mains and although they were all food we could only select two. I went for the beef, which I asked to be cooked medium (beware the French like meats very rare!!) it was very tasty but my wife went for the duck, and I instantly had food envy!! Both were served with perfectly cooked seasonal vegetables that complimented the meats perfectly. We left not only full but confident we had made the best choice for our wedding day. On the day Joss also did the canapés, they were out of this world, oysters, prawns and meats all cooked fresh on the bbq in the garden of our chosen venue. Even months after the wedding, guests are still commenting on how good they were... I only wished I had time to eat more, luckily Joss personally made sure we aleast tried a bit of each. The wedding meal was for 90 people and was executed perfectly with no complaints from our guests, we even managed to cater for vegans without any additional fuss. I'm not a deswrt person, but the selection we had was also very good and left everyone sharing to make sure they got to try everything. I cannot recommend enough Joss and his teams food and I'm sure after you have experienced it you will feel the same.

I love this place and always try to lunch here on my way to or from Riberac-Perigueux. I've never…read moremet the woman who does the cooking, but her husband who runs the front of house is originally from New Zealand. I believe she may be Swiss? If I remember my convo with her husband correctly. I think their menu doesn't change that much, but I don't come here that often. She usually has amazing flavors. I always say it satisfies my craving for English food. She often has a pie that has a curry inside. I have also had a filo-wrapped fried cheese for starter a couple times. Its my guilty pleasure spot for sure. It's not traditional French at all, but those of us that live here all the time appreciate that too!

I was a little disappointed by this restaurant, it had been recommended but we found it slightly…read moreodd as the cuisine was very international (Thai soup, beef en croute, fish and chips) and there was no real Frenchness about it despite being in the heart of a beautiful French village. The owner is from New Zealand and he is an attentive and charming host. Service is good and the atmosphere also good even if the most of the diners were English speakers. The food was fine, really good Thai soup, perfectly edible but unremarkable ratatouille, tasty fried chicken strips, and a small meringue which was very sweet and a good taste. Butit was quite expensive relative to the prices in the other restaurants, the quality was OK but short of outstanding and the portion size was modest. Presentation was good though. Wine was OK, considering this was France I had hoped it would have been better. Overall I got the distinct impression that corners were being cut to make this a profitable business and it showed. The restaurant is only open from Friday to Monday and they prefer you to reserve a table rather than just turn up. I wouldn't go back but I would urge you to try it to see what you think perhaps I've been a bit harsh.
