The rooms are all ensuite and air-conditioned, and I found the beds comfy. Those at the back are rather quieter, not that Boulevard Victor Hugo gets a lot of late-night traffic. Free wifi access is provided, and the TV has BBC World News (and German and Spanish channels). The location is pretty good: It's a five minute walk into the historic centre of town, with several bars and restaurants located next the hotel. There's the normal Ibis buffet breakfast on offer at EUR7.50, or you can go to one of the bars nearby for a coffee and croissant if you prefer. On our visit the bar was closed for renovation, though I can't see why you'd want to use it with so many authentic French bars nearby. Friendly staff who speak some English. There's a car park at the rear, and it's a 15 minute uphill walk from the railway station. The bus and trolleybus stops in Place Winston Churchill are only a few minutes away.

Absolutely LOVED Club Med in Martinique! I can't wait to return…read more... We arrived right around dinner time. A driver picked us up at the airport and we were in our room within 10 minutes of arriving. They have a tropical drink on hand the second you walk into the lobby (which is outside - everything is outdoorsy!) They give you a color coded bracelet which I believe indicates the duration of your stay. All inclusive really means just that. I didn't pull my wallet out once except in the gift shop. Meals: So many choices and everything was magnificent! Obviously a variety of fish, pasta, chicken, salads, veggies, a huge dessert table (although I did my best to avoid it), a wide variety of fresh delicious fruits.... Wine - they continuously serve during meal times.... The bar area - you can approach at anytime for cocktails or snacks. Which is great if you spend all day swimming in the sun. FYI - if you leave your food to grab another plate, you will come back to a guest in the bird variety happily snacking on your food. :) The boardwalk... ahhhhh - it is SO BEAUTIFUL!!!! Crystal clear blue. Each day we grabbed a pair of fins and a snorkel mask. We went snorkeling for HOURS every day. Hours... it's incredibly beautiful! We went WAY WAY out and it was still quasi-shallow. Enough that you're still very much enjoying a magical underwater world. We did see a barracuda (we think!) on our last day which forced us to slowly make our way back... You can go water skiing repeatedly throughout the day...We went paddle boarding and attempted wind surfing. I was terrible but at least I tried! Every night the staff puts on a fabulous show. Singing, dancing... audience interactive. It was so enjoyable! Our view - thankfully had a balcony overlooking the beach! Although we spent very little time in our room. The room - VERY spacious, bed was very comfy, a nice couch, great shower, chairs on the balcony to relax if you ever made it to the room... There is a huge stretch of land with TALL Palm trees! Oh so beautiful! They do primarily speak French. Some surely speak English, and quite well, but I was thankful that I at least speak some French. I need to start planning my return ASAP.... *UPDATE - I just went back and it's still JUST as fantastic! They had theme nights - so every night you had to wear a different Color. A WHITE PARTY by the ocean, Pink Night, Black... If you're signed up to go - make sure you read your email ahead of time so you know what colors to pack. Live bands - dancing! Ah - this is my favorite. I am going every year. :)
