If you have ANY dietary restrictions, don't bother coming here, period, the end…read more My husband and I had been trying since August 2025 to get a reservation for 2 at Les Grands Buffet and after checking weekly and running into constant issues on their booking site, we finally snagged a Christmas Day booking for 8 PM. We rented a car and booked a hotel room and drove from Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain on Christmas Day just to eat here. We had seen the reviews online from people like Wolter's World and Mark Wiens on YouTube. We were excited to try this supposedly gigantic, fancy buffet in the South of France. Their website mentioned that they had options for dietary restrictions. We prepaid our meal when booking but drinks are not included, not even water. Whatever, European restaurants are annoying in that aspect. We arrived at the restaurant and found out it's attached to a bowling alley. We had to walk through some sort of disinfectant mister and then head inside. The person who walked us to our table spoke English and showed us to our seat. The seats were crammed together to the point a built in planter box was taking up half of my seat at the table. I had to sit with my chair at an angle to avoid being poked by the sharp corner of the planter. Despite seeing French speakers being given a tour, I was not. This has never happened at any high end buffet that I've visited, and I've been to them all as I live in Las Vegas. A chef has always come out and pointed out what I could and couldn't eat when I told the staff that I had celiac disease. I don't even need them to speak English. I understand pointing and "oui / non." I was handed an allergen binder and found out that ALL of the hot main dishes contained gluten. All of them. The only hot main dish I could have was a slice of beef with no sauce - even the mustard contained gluten. I carried the allergen binder into the appetizer section and had to look at the name of each item and see if I could find it in the binder (which is stressful) and only then choose the item. A staff member saw that I looked confused / stressed and told me in English that I could have all of these cheeses except 2 that she pointed to. She then asked me to take a photo of the allergen binder on my phone to look at while going through the buffet so that they could have the binder back. How about pointing out what I CAN eat so that I'm not having to stand around trying to figure it out? I was given a basket of sliced sandwich loaf as my gluten-free bread. Buffet is mostly cheese, cured meats and cold seafood. There really aren't even that many options, even if you have no medical dietary restrictions. Every Vegas resort buffet is larger than this one. It was such a disappointment. The dessert buffet has an ice cream station and at a certain time they stop serving desserts from a case. I pointed to the mini souffle in the case (to give to my husband because the lines were so long.) I was told that they're not longer serving it because it was too late, despite it being more than 15 minutes before the cutoff time. Service was horrible. I got a half lobster and our waitress never brought me a claw cracker after saying that she would. Plates piled up on our already cramped table. The cost of water was never told to us so we didn't want to order something without knowing the cost. It ended up only being a few euros which we paid for at the end of the meal. Unless you're planning to eat nothing but cheese, Spanish cured pork and some boiled seafood, don't bother if you can't eat gluten. My husband who had no dietary restrictions said that he didn't even like the hot dishes that he tried and that the meats tasted gamey. Visited: December 2025

I'm torn on how many stars to give this place... the food was good, but a buffet takes patience…read morethat I just don't have. I get overwhelmed by the lines and people and extremely grossed out by people licking their fingers after they serve themselves, which I did see done here once. In fact, that may have been when I stopped eating. The beef at the carving station was amazingly tender with 3 yummy sauces, well, we only tried two, but there were 3 options. I can safely assume all three were good, since I really liked two. I had the red wine sauce and my husband got the one they have in the bigger pan, I liked mine better. The main grill area where area you can only order 1 item at a time was good as well, but it takes some patience to keep getting in line. I had the scallop, cooked oyster and bone marrow. I wouldn't do the oyster again, but the other two were delicious. Having a table of 6, the group got many of the options and they really liked most of them. The cheese selection is amazing but the lines are soooo long. I love foie gras but I didn't wait in that line either. Grabbed a few raw oysters, which were good, because they were at the end of the line and easy to sneak in and grab. My husband loved the crab legs, they were strangely easy to open, he said. I got a yummy mustard sauce in this area that also went well with my beef. There were buffet stations that were never empty, but I didn't really grab more than mushrooms from there. Some friends got mussels with a cheese sauce in that area that were just ok, I tried one. I'm not a person to overstuff myself to "get my money's worth" so I didn't overeat. I had enough food. I was full at the end. I did grab a few desserts, they were bite size and good. The merengues were delicious. There was a cheese cake that was good. Luckily someone had taken a half slice so I took the other half. The chocolate mousse was very chocolaty. We ordered coffee at the end. Service was 5 stars!! Our server always took the dirty plates away while the person went up for more food. Someone always stayed at the table to ensure our belongings were safe. The €25 champagne was great. They had a deal if you bought 6 they would give you one free. While we were 6 people, we didn't drink that much. We had two cars, two drivers. Each bottle came with a sparkler, which was cute. I would give the food 4 stars. The ambiance 3 stars. While it was a great experience, glad we were invited, I don't think I would go back to Les Grands Buffets. I will come back to Narbonne! It's a super cute area. If friends want to go to the buffet, we'll join them for the trip, and. we'll enjoy the town and other restaurants next time.

Really nice drive in the hills to get to this lovely village…read more The place is nice, modern interior with a style that mary itself well with the character of the stones. Food-wise, you cannot be disappointed when you get to a top rated French chef like him. You can still be forgiven to ask why all the fuss with 3 Michelin stars when 2 would have been well deserved and not create too high expectations (hence my rating)... Service is a bit too relaxed or familiar to match with this level of cooking (or the bill). Despite being a little underwhelmed overall, we must outline the magnificent cheese selection that gave a special note to the degustation menu. Definitely recommend to try if you have the time to spare for the discovery.

Sometimes a meal in a fine dining restaurant feels a bit like a marathon; you are not sure you are…read moreenjoying yourself at the time but you look back on it fondly, perhaps through a rose tinted lens or two. I find myself convincing myself that it is not the restaurant's fault - "I ordered poorly" or, more commonly, "I gorged myself on bread". However, often the food just is not *that* good. There was a point mid way through our 5 hour meal here that it looked like it could be one of those nights. We had chosen the chef's menu which featured those dishes from the a la carte that he fancied serving to his guest's that day, and, apparently, chef was feeling generous. By the time we reached the principal main course of beautifully cooked bull (apparently recently slain by a matador) we were uncertain whether we would reach the end of the feast. However, persevere we did and while the meal as a whole did stray into marathon territory at times, the food we ate (and largely enjoyed) was beautifully (and often theatrically) presented and cooked. Stand out dishes included succulent prawns served on finely diced ceps inside an arc of potato, and red snapper served with the most intense sauce of fish stock and saffron I have ever experienced. However, for us there was just too much richness in all of the food to make the meal as a whole truly memorable. Apparently it is possible to have too much of a good thing. When we return, I think that we will just order off the a la carte to avoid M. Goujon's generosity overwhelming us again! For those interested, the wine list is comprehensive featuring many of our favourite vignerons from the surrounding countryside and from the rest of France. Wines are grouped by AOC and then Vin de Table which made the selection process harder than it needed to be. Still, we were more than satisfied by an unusual Roussillon red our sommelier guided us to. Interestingly, unlike other 3 star restaurants I have visited, the atmosphere was never formal which we enjoyed. Perhaps this is caused by the slightly rustic dining area which appears to be a series of farm buildings knocked together. However, I think that this also stems from the staff who, while attentive, were also friendly and engaging.
