You can either get 1 or all 3 and honestly just get the 3 is absolutely worth it. You are not timed, once you get a seating you have the place to yourselves through 6PM so if you want to hang out go to the outdoors space have a drink and wait for your meal, you absolutely can. It's not like other places where they are waiting to turn tables super quick. They had a saxophone player and when he wasn't performing he had all American songs in the background. The reservation ends with a tour of the bodega where they tell you about the story of the vineyard and you try a special wine. This place is worth ALL the hype for a great price. The only suggestion I have if considering building a pool for the lodge guests to enjoy and offering more activities like horse riding in the vineyards, asado in the vineyards, etc. They do offer other activities like wine blending and cooking class but we were unable to do those. I also recommend adding full length mirrors in the lodges because we found that it was missing. Overall, the wine was excellent and so much more affordable compared to here in the States! We personally loved their more forage Malbec and Cab Franc. I highly recommend the wine and wish they distribute to more wine shops in the U.S. the sommelier was super knowledgeable and I really appreciate that she shared tons of great info about how they grow their vines. Though the wines don't say organic on the bottles, they're pretty much organic because their wine process from start to beginning is all organic!

The winery is owned by a Canadian couple, Noel and Terry Neelands, who live in Florida most of the year. They partner with winemaker Santiago Achaval. When they travel a couple of times a year to Argentina, this winery then becomes their home! Their winery is located within a group of vineyard estate plots called the Vines. Only two of the plots have wine production tasting rooms on site. SoloContigo grows some of their wines, and then partners with local producers to source the rest. They have a selection of Malbecs, Torrontes, Rose, and Sauvignon Blanc. When touring the wineries of Mendoza it is necessary to book a reservation in advance. I emailed hospitality@solocontigowine.com for a reservation. They were responsive and extremely friendly. They don't take walk-ins like in like the states. In Argentina from my experience, the wine culture is about providing an inclusive experience. Winery visits can at a minimum last 1 1/2 hours. It's time to slow down life here and enjoy. Take it all in. We found it ideal to visit only 2 wineries in a day as a result. Upon arriving at SoloContigo you first need to check in with the gate guard. My limited Spanish came in very handy here. They confirm your reservation with the tasting room manager and then they allow you to pass through the gate. The guard will then direct you where to park, which was important here as there was a winding road with several different properties on site. It would have been easy to get lost. Like all the other wineries. The view of the Andes mountains behind the rows of vines is stunning. The winery was created by the infamous Argentinian wine architects Bormida & Yanzon, who designed several of the wineries in the area. The building is stunning. It is like a living modern art gallery. The building is alive with color and unique living spaces. The winery serves as both home, tasting room, and production space. While we were there only a couple of other people came. We felt like we had rented an Airbnb for the day. The tour took us through the production area and an impressive barrel room. Daniel the tasting room manager was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. It felt like we were meeting up with a long lost friend. The outdoor patio space is something out of a magazine. Surrounded by the Andes mountains and vines. They had very comfortable outdoor seating areas set up. While they don't have a restaurant on site, they do offer amazing picnics! We reserved a picnic with our wine tasting and enjoyed it outside. The picnic included freshly made empanadas, a delicious meat and cheese board, sandwiches, and a honey nut dessert. It was more food than our group of three could eat. We took the sandwiches with us. The food was incredibly fresh and tasty. It paired very well with our wine. Their wine was very well structured and had an excellent flavor profile. I loved all the wines. There Rose was probably the best Rose I had in Argentina. Their Torrontes was also well done. Their Malbecs were all good. I purchased several bottles from here. We spent several hours hanging out here. A must see if in the area. I will definitely go back if I am blessed to return for a second visit.

First time ever doing that. Basically you close your eyes and they offer various spices, fruits, vegetables, etc. for you to smell and guess what it is. Some were obvious and others quite difficult to figure out. Then we started the wine tasting. Pinot Gris was good followed by a Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec/Cabernet blend, and Cabernet Franc. They are known to have the best Cab Franc in Argentina...it was pretty good but too peppery for my taste. The Pinot Gris and red blend were the most smooth, easy drinking wines we had. Overall great experience!

Joanna, the hostess, was very gracious and helpful in understanding the wine production and the property. They have a production of a few different lines. They produce a 100% petit Verdot, along with a Cab Sauv, Chardonnay, Malbec, Assemblage and others. Of the wines I tasted, most were a bit young, yet showed potential. The assemblage was the most enjoyable of the reds. The property was designed to blend in with the land and have a process where gravity (and not pumping or transferring) would be used. They sell their wines throughout Argentina and in several other countries. While I have seen more opulent vineyards, this one is worth a visit.

Then we finally parked and wondered around a bit looking for where to go in. Once we found the tasting room, there wasn't anyone at the door to greet us so we weren't sure if we should just sit or wait. Finally we spoke to someone at the bar and she told us to just sit where ever. Other than the arrival, this was a great tasting! We decided to do the tasting and cheese pairing. We started with a welcome drink of sparkling wine followed by 3 whites and 3 reds. The cheese board was not too impressive but I am glad we had something to nibble on. The prices are higher than most but they do age their beef. These people are vertical - they grow their own cattle, the bottle their own wine and they have a restaurant. So you know that they are controlling their costs very well. All that being said the staff was very friendly, the bread basket, olive oil and balsamic brought out at the beginning were very tasty with three different types of bread. They offer 2, 3 and 6 course tasting menus. Some of the items were not the most expensive or nicest so we decided to go a la carte. We started with the salmon ceviche and the beef carpaccio. Both were excellent. The salmon was tender with very bright acidity and large leaves of frisée. The carpaccio was the most tender I have ever had in my life. The beef had very good flavor, it had nice large shards of grana padano, a couple of very large leaves of arugula which perfectly balanced the yogurt dressing and the aged balsamic drizzle around the plate. For our entrées we had a 450 g ribeye - ojo de bife- which was cooked perfectly and had amazing flavor. It was a little strange because it was bone in on two sides and we have not seen that before in the US. We also had the skirt steak with smashed potatoes. Potatoes had a crispy skin and creamy texture in the center. The skirt steak had to be close to 12 or 14 ounces of skirt steak folded over itself like a snake on the plate. It was cooked perfectly to medium/medium rare and had good flavor. On the table they have three different kinds of coarse salts. One looked like a pink Himalayan salt, the other one looked like a Hawaiian black salt, regular course table salt and then coarse ground black pepper.
