Had a terrible experience with this shop. Barber (Randy) tore up the back of my neck so bad it looked like I had red paint from one side of my neck to the other. Unfortunately, didn't see the horrible job he did on my neck until got home. My wife thought I had been in a fight. Clearly, will never go there again and I agree with Marylyn that this place should be closed down. read more

DO NOT COME HERE. The old guy who owns this place cut my hair and completely messed it up making it obvious that each side of my head looked completely different from other side and when i told him he messed up he got in my face and tried to fight me!!! I contacted the authorities who are aware of him now but he is a dangerous person who will rip you off their customer service is terrible!!!!! Will NEVER recommend this place to anyone I hope the city shuts this "small business" down. read more

I didn't plan on coming in but a barber next door never opened his shop. This place welcomed me in then did the haircut better than my normal barbers. Wow I'm literally speechless at how awesome this barbershop was. The barbershop seems old school. I was greeted by two older gentleman's. My sons hair was overgrown and his dad had no time to care for it, since he works a lot. I passed by the location but it seemed pretty packed but I went in to ask if they can cut my kids hair. At first, they were hesitating because it's his first haircut but they decided to let him try anyways. I was so surprised that he let them cut it and the barber was super patient with him even when he was moving a couple of times. Overall, such a good experience and I received such a amazing act of kindness here. A older male (who seems like a customer whose been coming here for a long time) was so kind to let my son go first even though he was waiting for his turn to go for so long; at the end the male decided to pay for his first haircut. It was a $30 haircut. I came here with two little babies under 3 and sometimes I can't even get someone to open the door for me. I am just so thankful and definitely would recommend everyone to come here and give this shop a chance. The barber was super quick and my son was smiling throughout the experience! read more

I dropped into this spot for the first time today and got my hair cut by Tyrell. He did a very good job even though he is a young barber new to the job. I appreciated that he was patient with me as I gave feedback so he could get the style just the way I wanted. I also liked the friendly conversation that wasnt overly personal, not at all explicit, or profane. In fact the barbers here in general are all very laid back, yet they obviously take great pride in their work since all the people who I saw leave had hair that looked much better than when they came. Prices are very reasonable with a $16 standard haircut. Extensive line ups and designs are extra. Payment in cash only and bring extra for a tip like you know you should. If you have a specific barber you are waiting for you might have to wait for a while , but if you are flexible and willing to put your trust in whoever is open, your in and out time will probably be quick. Although this barber shop is very accessable to African American men, which seems to be rare in South King county, those getting their hair cut here represent a diverse group of people that all expect and recieve great service. Alright! If no one is going to say it then I will! Auburn Valley Barbershop is the BEST barbershop in Auburn! Period. Dare I say it is the best barbershop in Washington? I don't know, I will need to visit more barbershops before I make that conclusion but they are up there! I've been getting my haircut here since 2012 and they are the only barbershop around that does an old-school hair cut. I'm talking about shaving your beard with a straight-edge razor, "lining-up" your hair line with a razor, and even using the razor to give your fade that extra sharp look. All for a good price! Seriously barbers this good often don't come cheap. Quality-wise they are on a similar level as the famous "Art of Shaving" barbershop in Bellevue only without the fancy flair, uppity atmosphere, and expensive price tag at the end of your haircut. Auburn Valley Barbershop barbers are simply top notch. read more

Small, local barber shop just off of Downtown Auburn. I prefer the older barber shop feel and that's exactly what you'll get. It is quality and will take time, so this isn't the place to come when in a rush; they'll usually have a game on on the TV that you can enjoy while waiting. The two guys that run it are nice and enjoy what they do. I am very particular about my cuts and have been disappointed by the mass hair salons/barber shops. Auburn Valley Barber Shops has yet to disappoint me. You'll also see signs about donating food to help the needy; they'll have a box in the shop all the time for you to place goods in! Last quick note, ensure you have cash! They do NOT take cards. Also, they don't wash your hair, so if you use products, wash it out ahead of time or, if they can, just comb it out to loosen for cutting. read more

Stay away from this barber shop. If you do not read any more than this line. Stay away. The service is horrid. Seems unless you are in the know, the barber is an ass. It is close to a weekly function I and my son attend and my son needs a specific hair cut. Stopped on day and they were very busy, so I came back. I was ok with the rudeness the first time because he was busy and with a client. Went again and was 2 min past the close time, and he would not let us in. That is ok, I can respect the close time. However went last night and my son had the worst case scenario happen to him. My son had a LOT of hair. It curls up into a giant blond Afro. He had been growing this hair for close to two years. The barber asked what we wanted to do with the cut. My son asked for .5 OFF, I asked him to keep the style and trim it up nice and clean. The barber said ok, he then asked again if we wanted .5 OFF, my son said yes. I sat in the waiting spot and my son was sideways to me. This man decided to take my sons hair from what it was, maybe 8 inches of fluff, down to .5. He took out the trimmers and cut all my sons hair off. I could not see what was happening, and was mortified when I saw it. This man in 30 min took a piece of my sons personality. When I told him he messed up he just smiled. This man needs to retire if he can not hear what his customers are asking for. My son was devastated. Stay away from this barber. Do yourself a favor and save the money. His cuts are not worth it for the attitude and hack service you receive. read more

This is a clean, family friendly environment that I would recommend to anybody. They both treat you like your in a Salon and take their time, as opposed to a 5min haircut. I've been to this shop 4 times. Each time I had a different barber mainly because none of them impressed me enough for me to be loyal. The last time I went, I think the barber was on drugs. He took over 30 minutes to butcher my head. I eventually took off the bib and walked out without paying a dime. WORST SERVICE AND SKILLS IN AUBURN. We stopped in to get my daughters hair freshened up( sides and back shaved up with some simple lines) and Tyrell hooked her up. The shop itself is small and tidy. And all three guys were professional and friendly. I appreciated the time Tyrell took with my daughter to make sure that they were both on the same page. Solid barbershop top to bottom. I have some funky calics in my hair so it's hard to find a barber that can cut it evenly. All 4 of there barber's handled it easy! Great barber shop. All the employees are friendly and welcoming. They all give great haircuts. $15 for a haircut, but to me it's worth it because they take their time and make sure it's done right unlike most places that are only concerned with getting you in and out as fast as possible.
