Aura Thai has my favorite yellow curry. The flavor is so rich and creamy with the perfect balance of spice and sweetness. The potatoes and vegetables are always cooked perfectly and the curry itself is incredibly flavorful. It's the kind of dish you keep thinking about after you leave. Servic wis always amazing! The flavor on them could've been a little stronger. Shrimp pad see ew- A. Delicious. Lots of shrimp, they were perfectly deveined and ready to eat. The noodles and sauce were good. The noodles did not stick together, which is how I judge all pad see ew. I would definitely have this again. Egg rolls- B+. They were crisp and filled with fresh veggies. I like that they use glass noodles in their eggrolls. They came with a nice sweet-and-sour sauce. Mango sticky rice- C-. I know this sounds funny, but the rice was way too sticky and hard to cut. The mango was nice and ripe, and the coconut sauce was OK. The Thai tea was very good. A+. I could tell they used a high-quality tea mix. SERVICE: the service was fantastic. Food to go, and it was nicely packaged. The woman who served me is named Dream. What a cool name and she packaged the food like a dream. I have only experienced their food via take out. I felt like there was a lack of transparency around pricing because I couldn't find a priced menu online and when I called in my order I wasn't given a total or told that there was a 4% card surcharge. So the base prices were higher, plus there was 4% on top. So I ended up paying $27.55 for a tofu appetizer and mango fried rice which seems excessive. The food was good, I don't have any complaints about that, I just wouldn't have placed the order if I had known that was going to be the price. read more

These people are thieves charged me $30 for egg rolls and spicy shrimp fried rice. The prices online are different (less expensive). You can look for yourself, I'm adding the receipt so that you could see what I'm talking about. Not only that, but the woman had the nerve to ask for a tip. We did not give her one because we already knew she was overcharging us. Then she purposely restarted the entire transaction and asked for tip again when we clearly told her we are not tipping because she is overcharging us. I don't know if she was the owner or just a worker but this is shady business. The sad part is we order food from this place all the time and I don't know if it's under new management or ownership now, but we have never been ripped off. The reason it "used to be" is because the quality of the food hs gone down while the price of the food has almost gone up 100% over the past 5 years. We supported this restaurant during COVID and it is really difficult to spend $40 for two takeout dishes. It would be one thing if we were sitting in the restaurant, being served high quality food, but takeout should not cost this much. I've had a decent experience with Aura Thai. The ambiance is like a little cafe in a little shopping plaza. It's cozy. The service is 10/10 & the food is just as tasty. I've always passed by the restaurant and didn't try them out until a year ago. I've ordered the classic Thai dishes like Penang curry, duck curry, Pad Thai, Tom kha soup etc. They're made at a decent pace. I do notice the food is more Thai-Chinese leaning given their menu. Nothing bad to write about. I haven't tried the other dishes much. For the other reviews complaining about price, it's important to note how third parties will tack on extra fees and $ to get a profit. So If you're trying to save it's always best to order directly over the phone with the restaurant. Also cash is always king. When it comes to owning a restaurant you have to look at their expenses: real estate, inflation, supply vs demand etc. Bixby knolls years ago was empty, now it's bustling with many restaurants. I'm sure their rent has gone up too. I will agree yes, eating out is expensive and dishes do add up ! read more

I ordered four dishes for pick up and they came out to $70 total not including tip. The food isn't bad but it isn't great either so it's definitely not worth the price. The food overall was just ok compared to the many other options for Thai in Long Beach. I ordered the Thai Basil fried rice and it just tasted like regular fried rice, no Thai basil flavor at all like I'm used to with this dish. I tasted the Tom Kha soup and it was actually really good and full of flavor. The firecracker wings had great flavor and crunch, only downfall is that the wings had a lot of fat on them. Note that tom yum noodle is not exactly traditional as usually tom yum is served with white rice. Other restaurants add minced meat, meatballs, fish cakes, etc ... and it's just wrong. Here you get the traditional ingredients + rice noodle. I've tried other dishes at this restaurant and to be honest they're not worth skipping the tom yum noodle, so I always stick to it now. read more
