The thing is that upon going inside I discovered a rather good selection of beers on tap, and when I have to spend time attempting to choose a beer, then I known I have found a pub that I like. However, they also have a beer garden, and a pretty decent one at that, so yeah, this is definitely one of those pubs on my list of going back to again one day.

There are times when a half star would be welcome on Yelp…read more It's not five, that's for sure, and the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff certainly add weight, but truth be told, the place is a little tired. It's a good menu in the Mezzanine restaurant. I enjoyed the burger which was as good as many from dedicated establishments (see the picture) and the cheese platter was also rewarding with a choice wine from their current attempt to promote themselves as a destination for fine juices of the grape. But as always, a wotif booking has me in a room next to the elevator shafts which are as soundproof as a box of tissues. But the location is conveniently located near the freeway off ramps, supermarket, fast food alternatives and a quaint little establishment called "Hooters". Thankfully, the Yelp review of "Hooters" made me decide to sup within the confines of the Mercurial and so too, the delightful chips accompanying the night's burger. Worth the price of admission, especially if you utilize the discount voucher on the mirror giving you a two for one drink (Ahhhh, blessed Gordon's on ice) 10% off the burger and a free bottle of plonk for the return meal back home.
