Typically, our experience isn't great because we go in for one issue and the veterinarian comes at us with a laundry list of things we need to do for our cat, in a very cold tone, which is overwhelming. My husband and I were so pleased with the doctors and staff at Aurora Pet Hospital, and sad to leave them when we moved away! Our one dog has extreme anxiety - the first vet we went to when we moved in the Buffalo area handled him very poorly, turbo-boosting his anxiety and causing him to bark and bite. In contrast, the vet and vet techs at Aurora Pet Hospital kept a calm and professional demeanor that helped our dog calm down too. Such a relief! They were also super accommodating with last-minute appointments for our other dog who needs reoccurring treatment. They're never pushy with unnecessary services or treatments, which we really appreciated. This was my first time at this pet hospital as I had just moved to the village. It is a nice clean clinic. Receptionist was friendly and accommodating when I made the appointments for both my dogs. They were able to get them in together so I didn't have to make two separate trips. The vet techs were the best, and seemed to really enjoy their jobs and working with the pets. They helped with my older dog to hold him up for an extended period of time while he was on the table to draw blood. They used peanut butter to distract them when they needed to draw blood and the vet was doing the examination. Vet was friendly and explained things to me and why they do certain tests and recommended vaccines and tests. I hope to get the same service when I bring my animals back! read more

Truly as good as it gets, in every way. From the initial contact on the phone, to the visit, the front desk, the vet techs to the doctors, this is the best veterinary practice in Western New York. We live in the Northtowns and years ago, our dog had a skin problem that was continually diagnosed as a vague condition, "allergies" or "hot spots" for instance, with no long-lasting remedy, just steroids prescribed and then the dog was still not cured. UNTIL we took our dog to Michael D. Keem, DVM, Western New York's premiere veterinarian dermatologist, member of American Academy of Veterinary Dermatology. He knew within 10 minutes just what the problem was and what to do for it. The doctor greeted Tuffy first, talked to her and then without hesitation, sniffed her ear, then the other one, sniffed her skin, did his hands-on magic. He prescribed medicine, plus suggested over the counter solutions to use in conjunction that remarkably, brought our dog from lethargically existing to loving life again! The most impressive thing was Dr. Keem personally phoned us a couple of days after the visit, to see how our dog was doing! Another experience was about our daughter's dog. We expressed to Dr. Keem how the dog was about to find herself in a new home due to behavioral problems. He gave us information about training and mailed our daughter educational findings that gave our entire family HOPE for her dog. Fast forward, and the dog is now a Canine Good Citizen! When my eldest dog became afflicted with Canine Cognitive Dysfunction (doggie dementia) Dr. Keem educated us about the condition and worked with us to understand what can be done. I had a few conversations with Dr. Keem regarding euthanasia and he patiently personally spoke to me on several occasions again educating and informing me. When our family knew it was "time" Dr. Keem and his staff took immense care to be sure Benji's passing was dignified, fast and peaceful. About a week later, we received a hand-written sympathy card from Dr. Keem with words of wisdom that we treasure to this day. The entire staff signed it, too. Months later, our other elderly dog passed away on the way to the Aurora Pet Hospital and upon arrival, everyone was incredibly sensitive and empathetic for they all loved Tuffy so. We are now bringing our rescued Maltese, Joey, nine pounds of fury to Dr. Keem and staff and starting the cycle all over again, with the best Pet Hospital, best doctors, best staff anywhere. Highly recommended!!! I had my first wellness check up appointment today (October 8th 2020) with this vet for my 2 cats. They were amazing! Even with COVID restrictions, it was smooth, friendly, caring service! As this being my first time I couldn't go in, they came and took kitties from my car and delivered back to me afterwards. The Doctor Meisner gave me a call to go over her check up and for not being able to go in I felt like I was a part of the check up and felt extremely comfortable talking with her! I came here because Aurora Pet Hospital accepts the "Friends of Animals" spay/neuter certificates. I have never used them previously. I purchased a dog neuter certificate for $65.00 after verifying that they would accept it. From the first phone call to the completion of the procedure I was very please with the professionalism and kindness shown by the staff. My dog- technically my daughter's however I fund his lifestyle - is a Blue Tick Coonhound. He is large. I was told that because of his size there would be additional fees/charges. Bottom line, I spent an extra $120.00 over and above the certificate purchase. Well worth it. For the total money spent I received two office visits, neutering, a fashionable cone for my dog to wear and boarding for the night pre-surgery night . For comparison purposes, Vets normally start at around $300.00 for the procedure. After all incidentals are added on you are looking at around $500.00 for a male. Much more for a female. Fantastic organization and even better that they work with the public to keep pet vet costs affordable. read more

They get 1 star for nice people and a clean place. However, the wait times are too long and trying to get an appointment is difficult. Their coupon deal is 1 per household, not per pet which I was not told until I had to pay for my other cat. First visit my cat waited for an hour in her crate to be seen at all. Luckily she didnt have an accident. We then waited another 20 minutes for medicine and for someone to look in her ears. Second visit she was in her crate for a half hour for something that takes only a few minutes. When I brought my other cat in, I had to wait 20 minutes just to be able to sign my cat in. read more

Although we have seen different vets over the years, consistency in care, treatment and options is always present! They offer reasonable prices and are very down to earth regarding treatment options. Kind of a strange place to review, but I can't help it. We were introduced to Aurora Pet Hospital when we first got our dog and had to have the dreaded operation....neutering...performed. Aurora is the nearest place to us that honored a Friends of Animals certificate (a cool program that helps absorb the cost of the operation). Since then we've continued to use Aurora Pet Hospital for ALL checkups, check-ins, and emergencies. Their staff are very friendly- clearly love what they do, express a genuine interest and concern in our dog's well-being, and are NOT fear mongers when it comes to the latest and most expensive of pet medications. I have to admit Aurora Pet is WAY out of our way, there are several vets between us and them, however we are VERY happy and comfortable with the services we've received in the past and although it's not his favorite place to visit our dog is ALWAYS well taken care of. read more

We bring our golden to the groomers there as well and they do an amazing job with him!! We've had very very bad experiences at vets before, but since coming to Aurora, they have finally put me at ease knowing I can trust them to put my pup first, not money as many others do. My appointment today was at 2:00, with my two little dogs for shots. I called at 1:00, saying I am running late, if I come by 2:10, can my dogs still make the appointment or should we reschedule. Ashley said as long as I make it by 2:15, we are all set. I get both my dogs out, get my 5 month daughter in her stroller and race up and call by 2:13, as instructed by the sign on the door. Check them both in and wait outside as instructed. Ashley calls back 6 minutes later and says since I was late, only one dog can be seen or I will have to come back later that day with both. She literally said an hour prior when I called, that I would be fine. I even called to ask if I should reschedule! Very unprofessional and aggravating that I rushed to make it, after being told being a tad late was okay, just to be told I would have to come back. Was a first time customer, and now won't be going there at all or recommending to anyone. Obviously I don't know the quality of the vet, since I didn't have a chance. read more
