I never had an issue with ARA either, but was very nervous about changing with my history.

In fact the entire facility seemed knew and clean. The CT tech was an absolute blast! His beside manner is second to non! His instructions felt reasonable and easy to follow. This is my second CT scan by him and he only seems to have gotten better at his craft. Many thanks to Touchstone Imaging for a great experience!

This was an important scan that I waited a month to get scheduled for and now I have to wait even longer and suffer the indignity of having to find an accessible CT scan. This felt borderline illegal by Ada law standards for a business. I filled out a lot of previsit paperwork, they paid for an Uber to come get me from my house, all of this had wheelchair user written all over it, yet I get to the room for the scan and I'm asked to stand up from my chair and get on a machine that is shoulder height to me. This was frankly embarrassing to me and the staff who could have told me ahead of time they did not have a way for me to use the machine. After the visit, I had to call up to the business to make sure my deductible was refunded due to no services being able to be performed. The billing g department told me to go back to the office in person to ensure the deductible was refunded. (5-8 business days to get the money back btw). So I called back to the robot line and acted as I needed to reschedule my appointment just to talk to a helpful csr, who was able to confirm my deposit got refunded. So total impact: wasted my time scheduling this place a month out, wasted my day getting embarrassed at their facility, and I get to float a big bill for 5-8 days before I see my money back in my account. Horrible. Just Horrible.

However, it was Dr. O'Connell's attention to detail, professionalism and caring bedside manner that wins 5 stars for this review. She took her time during my examination and gave me her interpretation then and there. She sat with me to address any questions I had as well as gave me advise. I left her clinic reassured. Her office followed up with a letter confirming that my results were normal / benign. In contrast, I was sent to ARA (Austin Radiological Association) a few weeks ago to review a situation in my other breast. Although their office was also clean and quiet, the doctor never took the time to see me. He communicated his vague conclusions through the nurse. I had a few questions, which had to go through the nurse, and I had to wait until she returned from asking the doctor. This was a terrible experience as a patient when compared to the experience I had at Dr. O'Connell's office. I will go see her office for a second opinion, given that I know she is thorough. Who knows how thorough ARA is since I never got to see or talk to the doctor.

If people need to be there at a specific time, why would you not make THAT their appt time?! Staff is unhelpful and lacks compassion for the customer (especially since people getting imaging are typically injured). Canceled my service with them to work with someone who values my time and my business. ** After looking at the text they sent me confirming my time, they sent another text changing the time 30 mins later, making my arrival at the original al planned time that we had scheduled for over a week or two "not early enough" It feels like they went out of their way to mess up a scheduled appt. The radiology report was interpreted by a…read moreDACBR (chiropractic radiologist), but the facility never clearly communicated that a board-certified MD radiologist would not be reading the images. The report included terminology and diagnostic descriptions that were vague, inconsistent with current medical standards, and ultimately contradicted by multiple second opinions from medical radiologists. The interpreting provider mentioned the possibility of a serious medical condition, but at no point was I contacted, advised, or given any urgency of follow-up. When my physician formally requested a reread by an MD radiologist, the center denied it without clear justification. If you are seeking imaging for conditions that may require medical or surgical evaluation, I strongly recommend confirming in advance whether your imaging will be reviewed by a board-certified medical doctor. Transparency, clarity, and accuracy are critical in imaging, and I unfortunately did not feel that those standards were upheld in my case.

I was referred to this facility by my physician for an MRI on my foot. When I called to schedule…read morethe appointment, I was informed that their facility was out of network, but I wouldn't be charged anything. The facility would cover any costs incurred that my insurance didn't cover because they're new and building their business. Sounds easy for me, so I agreed to move forward with the appointment. When I arrived, I was asked to fill out lots of paperwork, all of which was normal- except the last three pages which were legal documents stating that I was responsible for anything my insurance didn't cover. The third document stated that if I was in need of financial assistant and had either a high deductible plan or was paying cash that they would offer some sort of payment for me. Well, that isn't the type of insurance I have, so I asked the administrator present for further detail. I let her know that I was uncomfortable signing the documents because I had been told that all of my expenses were covered verbally over the phone (she was actually the one that told me this) yet these documents stated otherwise. I let her know I'd be happy to sign these documents if she could provide me written documentation of what we discussed on the phone. She replied that she couldn't. I asked if she could email me a statement. Again, she said she couldn't. I replied that I didn't feel comfortable signing these documents without something in writing to protect my interest. I asked if I could take the documents home to look them over with my husband (my foot is broken, I would really like this MRI so I can get the correct treatment even if I'm feeling like this is getting weird) and she ripped them out of my hands and said that she would be shredding them. I'm sorry- how sketchy is that? I promptly left and called my doctor to let them know not to refer to the facility any more. I typically don't read these type of documents at a doctors office, yet thank goodness I did! If they're in network, great! If not, watch out.

My doctor's office is literally across the hall from this lab, so every year after my well woman's…read moreexam I end up there. And somehow... every single year... they magically bill me for something that should've been covered. At first I thought it was just one of those annoying insurance mix-ups. But after spending at least an HOUR every year playing mediator between the doctor, insurance company, and lab, it's starting to feel less like "oops" and more like a seasonal tradition. Usually they eventually fix it after I call enough times. Other times I've honestly just paid it because I value my sanity. This there were two tests I knew insurance wouldn't cover, paid for them upfront with my credit card, had the doctor separate them on a different form, AND asked for a receipt. The receipt only had the amount paid -- no description. Which already felt a little "interesting." Convenient that for some reason they have no way of putting a description what I paid for on this but every time they send me a bill it has a very accurate description of what they are billing me for. It's sad that it comes to me having to cord this interaction to protect myself. So I asked on video: "So these definitely will not be billed to insurance since I'm paying here?" Receptionist: "Yes." Fast forward to this week: guess who just got billed $36 for those exact same tests. At this point I'm not even mad about the money. It's the principle. Because I know a lot of people probably just sigh dramatically, pay the $30, and move on. But no. Not this year. This year I will be returning like a low-budget legal drama with my receipt, my credit card statement, AND my little video clip. Honestly the phlebotomists are sweet, but the front office acts like kindness costs extra. They are shockingly rude! So if this place keeps overbilling you too: fight it. Even if it's annoying. Or save yourself the headache and find a friendlier lab who doesn't routinely try to keep an extra 15- 30 from every visit.
