We stop by Austin every time we come up to Paso-- and there's a definite reason why-- the wines and service are bar none. Last visit Karen was superb and today Travis was fabulous. Travis is ridiculously knowledgeable and personable. He tailored our members tasting to perfection and really appreciated that so we could curate our fall allotment. The wine is obviously the star of the show. Even with the different years somehow it is always delicious. If you're thinking of stopping by-- just do it, you won't be disappointed.

This place had the best wines (IMFO) of my 4 winery tour of Paso Robles, while also having the worst view and parking lot. Dusty gravel with parking far away... yuck! And being totally inside with no views of anything was kind of a drag. But still 5 Stars due to the wines and the atmosphere of the inside. Deena was great and sat down and explained every wine in great detail. She even let me try the Reserve Cab which was excellent. One of the whites wasn't good at all and I had to ask for a new glass so I wouldn't taint the next sample. But you're probably not going to like them all. That's the fun part! I enjoyed learning about the Austin Hope winery and its origins. I felt like they grew in popularity quickly and threw up some barns to accommodate the crowds. For example, the bathroom wasn't well constructed as when people slammed the door shut, the walls shook. I can't imagine how the walls would shake if someone had a blowout here. Even with some of the downfalls, this was my favorite winery and I wish I could get some of the wines without joining the club. The commitment is too much and shipping is also high, so it's not worth it. The GSM was my favorite and if I ever see it somewhere, Ima get me some!

    Cheese and charcuterie box amazing!

Great choice! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed so warmly. They even offered us a glass of white wine while we were being shown to our table and waiting for our server. I really think the person who guides you through the wine tasting makes a big difference and truly adds to the experience. We had someone who was incredibly friendly and did a great job explaining each of the wines, which made the tasting even more enjoyable. As for the winery itself, we absolutely loved it. After tasting their wines, we were able to confirm the quality they offer. You can really taste the care and passion behind each wine.We would definitely come back on our next visit to Paso Robles. Highly recommended!

Welllll, I do like wine. But I am not a knowledgeable wine drinker. I know very little about the process, the industry. So it was wonderful when Tori, an enthusiastic, happy, smiling, beautifully-tattooed young woman told us all about Austin Hope (the man and the wine). Of course I knew the wine industry was huge and fruitful, no pun intended, but I had no idea how ingrained in California it was! I was encouraged to try new wines and I'm so glad I did -- delicious. My partner and I were treated to a day at your winery by my brother and his wife who have been members for quite some time. We absolutely will be back, and hope to run into Tori again. What a marvelous ambassador she is for your wonderful Winery.

It is a definite must when we come to visit Paso Robles to stop at Austin. Hope winery. Today Abigail helped us with the wine tasting and bought eight bottles with our membership. Amazing Vineyard excellent customer service and quality wine. We absolutely love Paso and Austin Home.

I think the person who served us was David, super friendly and personable. Of course, knowledgeable as well. My friend is part of their "wine club" and I had never been to Paso before. The "cabanas" were intimate and I enjoyed myself.

Stephanie was a very informative and pleasant hostess for our tasting. I wasn't feeling 100% but this was the highlight of my stopover. The tasting room was comfortable and wine was great. Our fav was the Lagrein and Petite Syrah.

Another amazing experience at Austin Hope the last time we were here. So another visit was needed. This visit it was a spur of the moment as we decided last minute. It was thanksgiving weekend on a Saturday so the chances of getting served was maybe low as we didn't have a reservation and was just going to walk in. Well, we were lucky. I did remember that walk in are available so we gave it a shot and it was great. Of course the friendly sweet welcome with a glass or rose to start off. We got seated at one of the hi top tables looking out to the vineyard. Also noticed that there was a good amount of walk in as well being seated next to us. We were served by the same gentleman that took care of our group a couple months back. He was amazing and the sweetest. Of course I forgot his name but amazing at explaining the wines and making sure we were well taken care of. This visit we decided to just get a bottle to share instead of a full tasting. Samples a couple of the reds and decided on one of the Cabernet. Having tried a couple to see which one we like, we settle on the Cabernet as it was easy and smooth to drink. All were amazing and I do remember some from our prior visit. The property is beautiful right when you walk in. Greeted by the hostess with a nice glass of rose. There's the tasting room both to the right and left side. Right side is bigger which has both an upstairs and downstairs area. A few steps to be exact. There's also a small bar area right when you walk in. To the left, it's more of a tasting room experience with the main bar, hi top tables and a living room area. Also holds the retail area with cute gifts. A couple of hats were purchased this visit. The layout is quite nice and wherever you're seated, it's great. You have outside seating pretty much along the property. There's a little patio to the side of the left building as well as the main patio right when you walk in. There, you have all plush sofa and heat lamps. Individually sectioned off to give you a private area. Some look out to the vineyards while some are more enclosed. Perfect for a group. Of course when it starts to get chilly, you have the heat lamps as well as blankets offered. One of the nice winery and tasting room. Also for the tasting, it's quite reasonable compared to others nearby. It's a must next time we're in town again. We did noticed that the Lamas weren't out back unless we missed them somehow.

My husband and I had never tried any Austin Hope wines prior to visiting their tasting cellar, but we fell in love immediately and left with 7 bottles + a membership. Parking was easy and plentiful. As we walked up, we were greeted with a taste of their Rosé (and our pup was greeted with a treat!), which was a pleasant surprise and very refreshing. I was able to snag a cabana reservation, which was a little more private as the seating areas were separated by bushes. The view was spectacular!! Tastings are $25 and waived with $100 in wine purchases. They were very generous with the tastings, and we went a little off book based on our taste preferences which was very nice. They were very dog friendly and we were able to walk our pup around the property (just not in the vineyard). Overall a wonderful experience and amazing wine, would recommend a stop here if you are in Paso Robles!

Outstanding winery. First time here and it won't be my last time visiting. The Cabernet wine is absolutely delicious. So much so I walked out with an extra bottle. Everyone and everything was perfect and inviting. The wine tasting room was modern yet inviting in feeling. The service is very personable and nice. The property is stunning with beautiful oak trees around it. Highly recommended!

Everyone is super warm and friendly here! Beautiful tasting areas inside and out. Tasting flight is $25/5. Charcuterie is $35.

Love the stories about the labels !

Amazing wines! Beautiful connection with my server Maddy... I've enjoyed the history , the roots in Paso Robles and the family stories. Maddy is so WONDERFUL. She really loves her job, I can tell! I will be back again and again!!

Charcuterie board - plastic packaging removed.

This was our second visit to the area, and having recently tried and loved their cab, decided to go for a tasting. And so glad we did! The only other property we have visited is Daou, which is absolutely gorgeous. So it was a little plain around the edges. We were seated outside facing the vineyard, which was pretty but not awe inspiring like Daou. We were greeted with a glass of Sauvignon blanc, and immediately I was blown away. I'm more of a red girly, and usually not impressed with whites. This glass, however, made mamma very happy! Our wine host was kind and gave us the rundown, shared her perspectives, and even let us try a few others to help with purchase selections. We shared the charcuterie platter, which is pre-boxed and fair to mid but nice to enjoy while tasting. We left with quite a few bottles, even though that wasn't our expectation. Overall, even though the atmosphere wasn't as posh, the experience was fantastic. It was much more about trying some new, unexpected wines and meeting new flavors that excited us. We will be back!! A hot tip: It can be hot, even in the shade. I don't think I would prefer the inside experience as much although it would have been much cooler. If you're heat sensitive, plan accordingly.

Does the winery really close at 5? When is the latest wine is served? (Friday specifically)

Is it true we can bring our own picnic while enjoying our tasting?

I couldn't see why not. You have to make a reservation, and there are tables inside and outside. I would just let them know when you make the reservation, and ask for an outdoor area.…

    Is this dog friendly?

Very dog friendly, and great wines. Give them a try...

Hi. How much is your wine club membership? I find myself buying your wines all the time, so I should join. Thank you.

Hi Thank you for reaching out. There is no charge to join. We offer shipments in 6 or 12 bottles twice a year. We don't discount our wine prices, unless for the club members. You will save 20% all year long. Please reach out to…

    Do you allow outside food?

I have visited the tasting room twice. They offer a cheese board with tastings. But if you want to bring in outside foods you should ask when you make your tasting room appointment. Enjoy.

Are children allowed and do they count as part of the seating headcount?

Kids are allowed. I was there with my little girl.

    Does this place allow walk-ins?

Hi Catherine C.- We allow walk ins but are extremely busy so we really recommend a reservation as there is a good chance we won't have a table available for you by walking in at that time. We do offer an area where you can enjoy a glass or a bottle…

If we have a reservation booked with friends and someone doesn't drink in our party is that okay?

I'm not an expert, but i have been their twice in the last few months. We love that place so much we joined the club. I highly doubt they expect everyone one in your party to wine taste. In fact, every winery I have been to accept wine tasting…

    Is it dog friendly?

    Yes

Where is better to seat during a tasting? Inside or outside during hot months? Do they have AC inside?

There's only a few spots inside and yes there's AC, making it more comfortable during hot months. They provided cold towels and cold mist spray bottle when we sat outside. I believe each tasting area is shaded with an umbrella.

I can't remember, can we bring picnic stuff?

We welcome you to enjoy your own picnic or snacks during your 90 minute outdoor tasting. *We do not allow outside food for indoor tastings.

Does the tasting room serve snacks or food (for purchase)?

We are going to be offering our cheese platters again as an option for guests who have reservations. You can make reservations on our web site at www.hopefamilywines.com/visit/ Thank you so much and we look forward to welcoming you to the Austin…
