Harking back to the country town that The Basin once was, this old wooden building also operates as a gift store, with ornaments and collectable trinkets on display. It also has the best view in Melbourne, with the rolling Dandenongs and adjacent open fields and farms stretching out across the road. In fact, it's hard to believe it's only 30 kms from the CBD. The staff here are always lovely, and more often than not come to my aid when posting a manuscript or music to an awaiting agent. With local knowledge and a love for their community, this post office is sure to send your goods away with care, and send you away with a smile.

Reasonably priced and a great selection of products. If you ever want to prepare a meal, there's great selection.. Market city coffee was fantastic, bought some cheeses, and picked up a borek pastry. Market is separated into different buildings. Seafood, deli and meats, and I didn't get to walk to the produce section. I stopped in at nine, but according to Google, it opens at six. In a shopper. Owner told me they close at three on the weekdays and four on the weekends. Open every day!

They have a ton of prepared food options like baked goods, sausages, fried chicken, ethnic food, charcuterie and raw seafood. First of all, the borek was a nice starter. It had a lot of fillings, and made me want to go to Turkey. On the other hand, the pie was a bit disappointing. It was bland and the crust wasn't flaky. Lastly, the porchetta was fantastic. The pork was really tender and nicely seasoned. The crackling on top was genius. Regarding the ambiance, the grounds are massive. The food hall has prepared food on both ends, and fresh meat & seafood in the middle. A lot of people come w/ carts. All of the vendors were super nice. We even bought some bread, charcuterie and marinated octopus for later. I highly recommend QVM if you visit Melbourne. They have something for everybody.

The venue is set up as a small but very bright town of a bygone era with a sunken dance-floor in the centre. Around the outside area are different 'stalls with each 'stall' acting as a different bar including; a Beach bar, a diner, an automotive repair joint and even Roxy Nightclub. Confusing, yeah? Check out the website to get a better grasp of what I'm trying to say! Capacity is around 500 which is perfect for that big function you're holding. The staff are fantastic and incredibly helpful, they'll make your event extra special even offering dancers on podiums (the cool kind, not the skanky kind) and other little extras can be added to this already extraordinary venue. Nice range of cute gift cards, wrapping paper, etc. There is a little cafe inside where you can sit, drink your coffee and read the paper in a nice tranquil environment. xx
