This is little more than a hole in the wall and a few envelopes on sale but it does the job. The rest of the newsagent is as you would expect but with very small ailes to walk through. It is never too busy so the service is always fast and everyone pretty friendly. I am yet to buy a scratchie that has won anything from here though.

You don't necessarily have to make appointments like with the larger shopping centre post office (although the staff would probably still appreciate it if you did make an appointment). There are post office boxes available here as well as travel money services such as American Express travellers cheques, foreign currency, cash passport and money orders. You can also come here to apply for ING DIRECT term depositions applications, 100 point check/ verification and renew a national certificate of competency. This Post office is located behind the main square of the shopping village, in an L shaped block of shops.

Located at Paddington Central - right next to a busy bus stop - this P.O. draws in large numbers, which is also evidenced by the store's size and extensive range of gifts. Paddington P.O. is more of a gift shop with an Australia Post tacked onto the end. The store packs the queue with an assortment of non-essentials - puzzles, books and toys, the latter so a bored child in the queue has enough time to whine about a desired toy and maybe even get it. (Usually the kiddies aren't so lucky, I've noticed. A snapped, "Put it back and get up off the floor" is the standard parental response.) The other thing about Paddington P.O. is that the staff are friendly, which is kind of a double-edged sword. You don't want to be served by an arsehole, but by the same token you run the risk of getting into a chat at the counter. This makes the turnover time at the counter here quite long at times, especially if someone's buying a mobile phone and there's a discussion about what the best new model is. Definitely don't make the mistake of thinking that you can line up here while waiting for your bus. You know the rule: as soon as you're served, the bus will show up and you'll be that person running after the bus while everyone watches you trip along. Then you have to return to the scene of the crime. Not cool.

This is very handy for patients who are far from home like the patients from rural communities. It isn't a very big Post Office, but it has all you need including all mail supplies. In addition to this, there are birthday cards, get well cards as well as a plush toys. Despite the limited variety of stock here, you'll still find something you need. While using this post office, I found the plush toys here are sold cheaper (around $9.95) compared to posher florist/ giftstores within the hospital. Keep this in mind next time you go shopping in RBWH. There are only two tellers and it can get busy here, so be prepared. Customer service here is wonderful. I'm not sure if it's because of its location within a hospital, but the service here is far more kinder, genuine and... at times slower. Slower, because, they don't rush it's customers. Especially those who are patients of the hospital and have difficulty walking. They take their time, but I can appreciate that.

My friend also picked up some beautiful cards he just couldn't live without. We will definitely be back. Lots of cute gift ideas- both for yourself and others. If you're a visitor to Brisbane, it is one of the historic buildings to see and is right opposite both the city circle bus {free} and the tour bus {open top deck}. It is a standard most office offering products such as packaging, office stationary, gifts and some drinks/ confectionary however a scratchie/ lotto kiosk has been awkwardly placed near the entry doors which just means it is more crowded. Staff are knowledgeable enough with different size/ satchel requirements though can be a bit grouchy at times. Not much else to say except there are lockers out front and don't bother ringing because the phone has never been answered.
