"Spaceport America Cup" is the world's largest intercollegiate rocketry competition made up of students from all over the world who now travel to Las Cruces New Mexico in the USA to showcase their engineering skills. Home of Spaceport America, Las Cruises New Mexico, USA. ESRA, the Experimental Sounding Rocket Association, originally partnered with Spaceport America 5-years ago, the world's first purpose-built commercial spaceport located in southern New Mexico, to offer academia and industry a unique opportunity to collaborate, compete and inspire the next generation of aerospace engineers and scientists. Beginning in 2017, ESRA's Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC) became the flagship activity of a new annual event called the Spaceport America Cup (SA Cup). Scott McLaughlin, Executive Director of Spaceport America "Not only does it bring together the world's brightest and most talented engineering students, it showcases what the World has to offer, and It really falls into part of our mission at Spaceport America for STEM Outreach and Workforce Development." In 2019 the University of Sydney Rocketry Team won the then 10,000 ft Spaceport America Cup, while two years of Covid-19 killed the USA Live Competitions, the 2022 Team is now following in their footsteps. In 2022, after 2-years of reeling from the Global Pandemic, Spaceport America Cup is celebrating its 15 year anniversary, so they have increased the target from the 10,000 ft competition, and introduced 30,000 FT. COMPETITION TARGET OBJECTIVE Achieving as close to 30,000 FT without overshooting the target while carrying a Dynamic Payload designed by the Team to be handled mid-flight, the recording of all Video & Telemetry Data of the Flight and its Cargo/Payload, and finally returning ALL Stages of the Rocket safely back to Earth. Team USYD, during flight the rocket, developed a robot arm that engaged and retrieved a piece of "Space Junk" simulated by securing it as a pendulum (payload) inside Bluewren, to simulate live space conditions. With computer vision for tracking and monitored by the team's telemetry capabilities, both the booster rocket and the main rocket were safely parachuted back to Earth and retrieved. USYD were winners in the 30,000 Feet Category for Technical Recording and Handling of their Space Payload. 'Bluewren' also achieved a height of 29,933 FT on a Target of 30,000 FT. The Team is now awaiting confirmation of the Overall Winner, delayed due to late launches, weather conditions and Judges flight data confirmation Judges flight confirmation. Through several sleepless nights watching rockets launch and then viewing the Award Night live, it was one of the proudest moments of my life. From Sarah watching MacGyver over and over as a small girl, and always building things, like a working elevator at 7-years old, and every night tucking her in without fail it was the why and how is this made, in addition to her amazing puppet shows. Her heart is the only thing bigger than her intellect. As she has grown up Sarah is now following a dream that will open doors for her into the future of Space Exploration inside her lifetime. Thoughts I'd branding and corporate sponsors and such come to mind. In my undergrad years elsewhere, the intent of the university was to drive students to an early grave, not to make money. My post grad years seem more noble but my student debt tells another story. Anybroke, I feel like the undergrad program's reputation for being rigorous seems to be based in part on the massive challenges faced by its large international student population of non-native speakers who struggle with lectures. This is based on my experiences with a small sample size of 2 as well as a hilariously conversation overhead at the train station by native English speakers on some sort of study abroad year. I've had experiences with several post grad programme and they seem solid.

Parramatta has more good selection, yet less blue parking on site! Sigh so you gotta get here early if you want to snag a spot close to the EB or EA building. If you can't find any parking on sight there is always parking off sight where you take a free Shuttle bus to and from the offsite parking area.

It's a great university, for Architecture, and Sciences as the school of architecture was one of the founding schools of UNSW. Informally called New South of UNSW, we had a lot of fun studying in the large open fields, enjoying the grander of sandstone Romanesque architecture, and new modern buildings and investments in art that the university constantly made. The main UNSW campus is divided geographically into two areas: upper campus and lower campus, which often made it difficult to meet others who were studying different things, as the walk could take up to 15 minutes for either end, and can take even longer if the crowd of nearly 46,000 students block your way. My favourite part about this campus was the bars, cafe's and campus culture which was very prominent. The roundhouse often had great parties and events organised by students and councils, which went off the hook!

I signed up and paid for a Thai cooking class with my Dad for his birthday. We had a great time cooking and learning about Thai ingredients. We made traditional and modern dishes that tasted absolutely delectable! All the ingredients and cooking utensils are provided and the lady who runs the class provides you with a copy of the recipe to take home. We now regularly cook from these recipes and everything has an abundance of flavour. The lady who runs the workshop is a little difficult to understand but is very friendly and knows how to cook! She is also very encouraging and tells you a bit about each of the ingredients and where to buy them from. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone who has a love of Thai food. There are a lot of ingredients to each recipe but the end result is simply delicious. And yes, you do get to eat everything you got to cook! The 'Italian for beginners level 1' ran for 8 weeks, Thursday evenings 6-8PM ($180). The classes are held at Mosman Public School which is very accessible, plus parking on-site makes it very easy to get to class. My teacher, Valentina was excellent - patient, kind and fun. Overall I really enjoyed the course and I'll be back for Term 1 next year - 'Italian beginners level 2'! Molto bene!

My original campus so I always have a soft spot for this place…read more It has the usual mod con's as any other university except no bar which I think is good I mean your here to get an education not to get drunk! Since last year they have renovated a lot buildings with the addition of building 17. Lots of parking space but if you get here at peak hour you will probably be driving around the car lot for at least 20 minutes waiting for people to leave! Coffee can be up and down depends on which Barista you get it from. I like this campus coz it's not as big as Parramatta yet people seem more talkative and friendly here.
