It ran from 9am to 4.15pm and involved: - a coach pick up from my hotel - morning and afternoon tea - a tall ship cruise to the exclusive McLarens Landing - parasailing off the boat (cost $60) - full licensed bar on boat and on island (drinks cost extra) - island BBQ and buffet lunch - live entertainment (singer) - free use of paddle boats, kayaks, beach volleyball equipment, pool table, cricket and darts equipment - sea plane flight (cost $90per person) - choice of speedboat or tall ship cruise back home - coach drop off at my hotel Best of all, the tour was only $129!!! It was extraordinary value for a day packed with fun. There are plenty of opportunities to relax with glorious beaches on South Stradbroke Island (where McLarens Landing is) and even a hammock available for a snooze. The staff are incredible and make the atmosphere very fun. They are sociable and entertaining too. If you have a day free I would definitely go on this tour. The sea plane ride I took was incredible and the owner of the plane is happy to bargain with you for a cheaper fare. From memory I think I whittled him down to $55 for my flight. He likes to have fun and rolled the plane right over at one point - definitely got an adrenaline rush from that!

There, you have your warning. NOW... if we didn't pay and the experience deteriorated and the end of the cantilever bridge snapped off for example... you get the point. I completely understand other Yelpers and my partners view of getting this experience for free in the National Park but you can only get it from the ground. This is that plus being in the treetops. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I saw a wallaby and a really pretty blue dragonfly. The paths are maintained to a very high standard. There are information points along the walk about trees and wildlife. The cantilever bridge, with the green scenery beyond looks like the approach to a Jurassic Park viewing platform. If you stand still at the end of it you can see and feel it gently swaying. Not for those with a fear of heights but worth a look if visiting the region.

You can read a bit of history abt the coast and walk around and look through telescopes to see up close the oceanic views. It's amazing - definitely would come back to see it again. Then again, I wasn't the only person wandering around here on a brisk winter morning, and I certainly wasn't the youngest. So, I wouldn't quite say that this is where the border between Queensland and New South Wales meets, but it is pretty close, and it is a nice place for a stroll. Well, if you're into surfing it seems that surfers also quite like this place as well, though I'm not one of them.

Surfers in black wet suits, look like seals from a distance...there must have been at least 100…read moresurfers in amongst the rough waves. This little spot is famous for its surf. The water is very deep and the rocks are incredibly dangerous...maybe it is the thrill of it all but I'd rather my dingy with a life jacket.ha I noticed that there were a number of serious surfers who were in family groups. A number of times I saw the serious surfy dads in their mid to late 40s with their grown up children, all paddling out to get that monstrous wave. However not too far out from the shore was a huge whale bobbing in out of the rough waves. With the sun streaming down and the glorious heat this was a wonderful sight to see. People were gathering on the beach, on the rocks and at the nearby lookout to see this majestic mammal. The lifesavers were very busy watching from a distance and the marine helicopter flew over just checking on the people. A fantastic spot to be just at the right time. You can't get any better..sun and the surf!

It's a great way to tour the area as a first-timer, but the price tag (around AU $35 per adult) seems a bit steep to do it more than once. It appears to be a great attraction for children.
