As an Australian, I was super excited to go to this store. I've lived in Germany for a few years and have (mostly) grown accustomed to German cuisine. However, I had a hankering for Vegemite and was thrilled to hear about this store.
Unfortunately, I was in for a big disappointment. Not because of the prices I fully expected to pay 10 euros for a jar. It was all down to the appalling customer service. Don't get me wrong, I don't expect amazing service but what I definitely wasn't expecting was the rudeness of the person working there. She behaved like the customers were intruding in her home and when I asked for a bag for my purchases (I may have indulged in more than just the Vegemite by this stage!), the woman actually glared at me and begrudgingly threw one in my direction.
Then there was the store itself. The store was absolutely silent like a library.
There are signs in the shop 'Don't eat inside', No talking on cell phones. Which I guess may have some validity but for me personally it just seemed unwelcoming and controlling. I have to say that is not really in keeping with the laid back attitude I grew up with.
I gave this store a chance but have to say I will NEVER be returning.
