Poor scheduling and communication from Ottawa Honda Service…read more My car wouldn't start due to an ignition key cylinder issue. I had it towed in the day before my Wednesday appointment to give them a full extra day. By Wednesday afternoon, no call. I reached out and learned they were running behind because 4 jobs had carried over from the previous day. I rented a car, expecting mine back Wednesday or Thursday. Thursday: they diagnosed it and said parts would arrive Friday. Friday: Vicki in service told me parts were in, but they couldn't schedule a technician for the key coding--even though they had someone for the install. No guarantee of Friday completion. I extended my rental to Monday. Monday: still no guarantee, but they did finish. When I picked up the car, Vicki wasn't there. I asked two staff members about the delays. One said she didn't know; a male colleague chimed in that they were "waiting for parts." I pointed out that Vicki had confirmed parts were there on Friday. He had no reply. I said I'd write a review instead of waiting for a callback--and neither staff member seemed surprised. That lack of surprise tells me this is routine for Ottawa Honda's service department. So here's my question: if a dealer's service department can't schedule properly, doesn't apologize for repeated delays, and gives conflicting excuses when confronted--should you trust them with your car?

On June 15th, I scheduled an appointment due to an electrical issue with my Honda Pilot,…read morespecifically observing sparks when the vehicle was powered off, followed by an alarm activation and screen anomalies. Given that my vehicle is still under warranty, I was informed after a 2.5 hours diagnostic period that the issue was a loose bolt in battery, when i went to work iexperienced recurring beeping and sparking. This is a safety issue this shouldn't take it lightly. I will no longer be utilizing the services of this dealership. Now every time I park my car I have to disconnect the battery which is unacceptable for the car under warranty. UPDATE JUNE 17TH 2026. I TOOK IT TO DEFFERENT HONDA DILERSHIP AND THEY DIAGNOSED WITHIN 30 MIN. IT'S A MULTIPLEX SMART MODULE PROBLEM. OTTAWA HONDA SHOULD HIRE MORE PROFESSIONAL AND EXPERIENCED MECHANICS.

I strongly advise others to avoid purchasing a car from Car On…read more I had a very disappointing experience with Car On Auto Sales at 1700 Cyrville Rd, Ottawa. The issues began after the purchase. Customer service has been very poor, especially once the sale was completed. Concerns are often left unresolved for weeks, and it feels like you are constantly waiting without proper follow-up or support. We purchased a warranty, but later found out that basic issues such as heating and cooling are not covered, and even diagnostics are excluded. This was not clearly explained at the time of purchase, which was frustrating. The service centre experience has also been disappointing. Booking basic maintenance such as an oil change has been inefficient and slow, with limited availability and poor scheduling coordination. On top of that, after a service visit, there was damage found on the vehicle, which added to the frustration and lack of confidence in their handling of the car.

** BEWARE OF CAR-ON AUTO SALES **…read more I purchased a used car from them late October 2023 and within my first few days of ownership I discovered the car has issues. A worn clutch throw-out bearing (aka thrust bearing) and a non-functioning rear defroster. Dealer made me wait a week to see service. My purchase included a 30-day money back guarantee if not 100% satisfied, and a 90-day power train warranty. Service checked, but said there was nothing wrong and sent me packing. Both issues persisted so I called again, waited another week for service. Again, I was told nothing was wrong and the squealing sound is normal. The rear defroster felt warm to their 'touch' so they did nothing. It never worked. I cannot drive an unsafe car so opted to return it as I was within my 30-day 100% guarantee window and I was not 100% satisfied. They charge 15% re-stocking fees, safety check fees, detailing fees, de-registration fees and mileage fees which effectively meant they robbed me of over two thousand dollars to returning the car. Read the fine print people! I had bought new winter tires and rims from another garage a week after taking delivery of the car, and these were on the car when it went in to service the 2nd time. I of course returned the summer tires and hubcaps when I had them re-purchase the car. Once returned, it took me a week to have this dealer return my winter tires and rim. Horrible situation! The bottom line is Car-On offers a 90 day warranty but won't honor it. I would avoid this place at all costs. Staff only use first names, they never call back, they refuse to provide an email address or even give proper paperwork to buyers. Customers are given no record of any service under their warranty so cannot prove anything. I am sure they would deny ever having looked at my car. I so very much want to leave zero stars! Treating customers with total disrespect like this is wrong and I reiterate ** BEWARE OF CAR-ON AUTO SALES **.

I had been going to Villa Toyota for over 6 years for service on our families' vehicles…read more I visited 5 months ago for an oil change, and paid ~$80 for the oil and basic service. I scheduled an appt. for an OIL CHANGE ONLY last week. I expressly told the service attendant that I only wanted an OIL CHANGE. No fluid top-ups, no tire rotation, etc. I came back later in the day to discover that they have now arbitrarily DOUBLED their price for a simple oil change. I was asked to pay $183!!! An OIL CHANGE. They added all sorts of hidden fees and even after being expressly told NOT to do any other services, they billed me for windshield fluid (which was already almost full when I dropped off my vehicle), tire rotation (this was not needed or asked for), and a bunch of other non-requested services/fees. By the way; I checked the fluid level and the windshield fluid was the SAME AS WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN! Liars. When confronted with the price gouging, their service manager just shrugged, and said; "well, the price of everything has increased, so we DOUBLED our costs. Sorry." We will NEVER take our family vehicles to this STEALERSHIP ever again. Trust, transparency and integrity are important folks. This place will just overcharge you for things you didn't ask for, then throw their hands up when you protest. DON'T go to this dealership unless you like flushing money down the toilet.

Woo! The boyfriend and I just returned from purchasing our very first car, and we had an awesome…read moreexperience. I've always been totally freaked out about buying a car - especially a used one. There's so many details, it's a huge financial responsibility and then there's the issue of dealing with a car salesperson. Overall, it adds up to a lot of anxiety. After searching for months for an affordable car with good resale value we decided we wanted to purchase a Toyota Yaris. We then decided we wanted to go through a dealership and hopefully find something a few years old, but with not too many kilometers. After literally searching through every Toyota dealership in Ottawa, we expanded our search to outlying area and DING! We found a sweet deal at Villa Toyota in Gatineau. After making an appointment to see the car, I fixated on what the experience would be like and worked myself into an anxious, awkward person before our test drive. Our Salesman, Eric, was fantastic. Soft-spoken, kind, patient and knowledgeable, he was a first-time buyer's dream. He answered all our questions without making us feel like amateurs. After walking us through the process (with no added pressure, I might add), Eric passed us over to finance where we met with Ginette, who was also incredibly patient, knowledgeable and kind. You can tell she knows what she's doing and she was honest and up front about everything. She didn't pressure us in any way, but advised us fairly. We ended up getting an amazing deal and an added extended warranty. Yes, getting out to St. Jospeh Boulevard was intense, but it was SO worth it in the end. Don't be flustered that the staff are mostly French - they're very clear about everything and are great at explaining things. Everyone we came in contact with from the receptionists to Eric, Ginette and the manager (who personally emailed us to congratulate us on our purchase) was absolutely wonderful. If you're in the market for your first time car, get in touch with Eric. I'm sure he's awesome if you're looking for your second, fifth or tenth as well :)
