But this review is not about the dealership this review is about Adelaide Exclusive Mechanical. I found the staff at AEM to be friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Steve was great in handling my enquiry and although I am a lay-man, spoke to me on level, not down to me. Jeff had even worked at (the dealership) for 20 years and was familiar with my type of car. The result is that I've had my issue fixed for less than I was quoted for a diagnosis of the issue. I am very satisfied with the service I received from here and I will do business here again.

The motor is as quiet as a mouse, and she no longer gives the occasional shudder when she idles, yet she's idling even lower. The air-conditioning is fixed. I was directed here originally because they are the approved repairer for the insurance company I am with. On my first visit, I had trouble finding the place as the signage was so hard to see but fortunately they have redone it in the last few years so it looks fresh and is easier to find. However, what I liked straight away was that the space was huge so it was easy to drive in and get a quote. On both occasions the work was done quickly and the finished work was exemplary. The staff are friendly and helpful and always happy to drop you off somewhere or organise a hire car. When I picked my car up last time I hardly recognised it, not only did they fix the minor damage but they had washed and polished the car as well as giving it a detail inside. I was very impressed and even sent them an email to thank them. The reply came back saying I had made their day, which was lovely. I have no hesitation in recommending them if you ever find yourself needing some bodywork done to your pride and joy.

That said, the service is still good and the price I pay for it is reasonable as well. I really got tired of being taken on a ride with a lot of other franchised car service centres which shall remain unnamed, who would charge me 4 times than what I would normally pay because they managed to find things that "had" to be fixed in the car. Not knowing anything or much about cars, this made me an easy target for places like these and eventually I caught on that half of the things they recommended fixing were not critical to safety. Sure, your car runs better, things would be newer, but was it necessary? No, not all. At Paks auto you can expect a fair price, and the owner will call you up before he does anything outside of what you have asked him to do, such as if he finds something that really does need repairing. They do general servicing and repairs so if you live in the area and are looking for a place to do any of that with your car, swing by Paks Auto.

I have a few young men in my life who care about their cars. They have all said positive things about Maxi Tyres and I went along to check what I had been told. Yes they are friendly. Yes they seem to be able to do jobs quickly without it being more expensive than you would think, or they quote, and the place is pretty big. Nice guys, fair prices.

I had to take my car twice for a simple regular car service…read more Once there was no break fluid available and they only could change the oil and filter and asked me to return the car after x-mass holidays. On my return from holiday I noticed that the cooling water is not tapped as well and asked them to fill in the water. surprisingly this time they forgot to put the cooling water cap in its place and I noticed this after one week and the water was below minimum level this time. Fortunately enough the cap was still there trapped between the engine wires and I could fix it by myself.

Anyway, whenever something happens to my car I bring it to Pooraka Panel Repairs. Being local and RAA approved helps immensely. I've never had a need to go back to them after a repair, they've always just done a top job with no frills. The guys who run the place are up front and honest. They let you know every step they took to get your car back on the road and make sure you're happy with the repair job before you leave the shop. They really do go that little extra mile and seem like they really do give a damn, and that's what makes all the difference.
