Don't take your car here for repairs. I had a whirring noise…read morein my car that sounded like a bad wheel bearing. They told me it was the differential and the gearbox had to be replaced. The noise was still there after replacing the gearbox. Then they said they couldn't hear anything but then looked at it further and said it was the LH bearing which they replaced. After that the noise was still there. I then took my car to another mechanic who told me it was the RH bearing and fixed it straightaway. Not being able to fix my car is one thing, but insisting there's nothing wrong with it when there's clearly a problem is just frustrating. All they've done is wasted my time and money while showing no genuine interest in fixing my car.

I took my 04 Falcon wagon in for a couple of minor electrical jobs & a replacement mirror. The minor electrics he & staff did on the spot, almost for cost. When he repllaced the electric wing mirror I dropped my car off in the morning with no notice (which meant he had to source the part). It was ready by the afternoon and within $10 of cheapest comparison quote. My little brother put his 2000 Corolla in for a major service and what turned out to be a replacement alternator - $700 for the lot incl 2 new tires, alternator and new battery. Ready within 2 days. There's a few young mechanics on staff but Mark seems to be the hands on manager. In both my brother and my case he called to advise of cost and seek permission for the work.I drive past this garage all the time and often lights on and hoists up late at night. Always lots of cars, early and late model, on site. Seems they're working hard to build a good name and repeat business Did he get the bible chapter reference inked on his forearm as a marketing move?.. too cynical? This and his honest face and manner worked on me anyway. He could probably sell me encyclopaedias..

The result.....actually really positive. This garage mainly deals with panel beating and bodywork but I asked the owner/manager for a service while my car was in there and he happily obliged. He even detailed my car for free leaving it brand new clean as he "didn't want it leaving his garage as dirty as it came in".......embarrassment. The experience of servicing a car can be kind of daunting for people with no mechanical expertise but I felt informed and walked through the entirety of the process.
