Called to request the drivers ed car for my daughter to use for her road test a month ago . Two text messages and six phone calls promising a response , was told today that there is no car and road test is in two days . So unprofessional. Not one person I spoke to gave a shit that I gave to now cancel my daughter's appointment. All they had to do was say from the beginning it wasn't available. But they kept saying they would take care of it until today . So I highly suggest you call anyone but this company . read more

School is always busy, never be able to manage get instructor 1-1 class scheduled. Now we have been asking for Certificate for approval for taking defense driving courses. It has been several weeks, left message, write emails never get anything. We have to pay high rate insurance for teen. Over packed with customers cannot service right. read more

This is the driving school that partnered with my child's high school to offer drivers edu. classes. Terrible experience. While the actual driving instructors were good, two of her driving classes were cancelled and never rescheduled (the first time was a scheduling error on the driving school's part, the second time was because of a flat tire, which 100% happens BUT then reschedule the missed classes, they did not). The class instruction was TERRIBLE. Students copied answers (and then questions and answers so that it would take longer) from the textbook. That was it. The two hour class rarely lasted more than 30 minutes. Absolute disappointment overall. read more

I just passed my roadtest!! I gotta say these people were great. The zoom 5 hour class flew by and as for the driving instruction, I found it to be extremely helpful. Inocencia the instructor was awesome. She gave me the needed tips to pass the roadtest​. Highly recommended!!! read more

Warning to the community- do not send your kids to Autonautics driving school and if you see their cars on the road give them a WIDE berth! One of their cars backed up straight into my car yesterday (despite me leaning on my horn and several cars behind me doing the same) the driving instructor did not use her second break to stop this from happening, and then proceeded to scream at me and refused to give me insurance information. The poor teenager behind the wheel looked traumatized, and clearly was not ready to be out driving busy streets in Bay Ridge! This is also not the message you want taught to kids about how to handle an accident. Even worse, the driving school owner refused to take accountability and is also still refusing to share insurance information. Steer (pun intended) clear! read more

Had a bit of trouble with the office regarding my paper work on the day of driving test itself. Ended up having to wait in 95° heat for paperwork to come from Bayridge for 1 hr. Inocencia is incredible with her calm and collected approach. Had her for 1 lesson before actual test and gave me many tips that previous instructor did not give. read more

My son had a very good driving instructor, Elliot. However, on the day of the road test Elliot was on vacation and they assigned a random instructor to take my son and two other people. The instructor made my son travel to the east side to pick him up with other people and then drove back to our neighborhood on the west side to head to DMV in Yonkers. He could've picked up my son in our neighborhood, as originally agreed upon. In addition, my son had to wait about four hours in Yonkers before having his road test while the instructor gave driving lessons to others. This was very poorly coordinated and the office staff was unhelpful. read more

I've had 5 experiences with this school, so one star for each good one. The three lessons that I've taken with autonautics have been good 1. The first instructor was good enough, she didn't talk much but the lesson was fine 2. Adam was my instructor, he was great and did a practice driving test with me, tallying how many points I would've gotten on a real test. I was told he doesn't work there anymore. 3. Just a couple Saturdays ago, I had a double lesson with Susan and she was so unbelievably helpful. One thing I really liked is that she had me parallel park on busy streets like 5th avenue.. most instructors save parallel parking for little quiet streets with no traffic which kinda leaves drivers unprepared for real world driving. After that lesson with Susan though, I walked into the school to pay for my lesson and booked a double lesson for my boyfriend for the following Saturday. The employee who I spoke to wrote down his full name, phone number, and address and said that an instructor would call him to confirm the appointment and get additional information. So, someone called him on Tuesday.. the Tuesday 3 DAYS AFTER his lesson was scheduled for. Luckily I didn't pay in advance, a lesson I learned from them previously. I called one day to book a Sunday lesson. Because they said that their office would be closed on Sunday, they asked me to pay over the phone and promised me that a driver would call me to schedule the appointment. Never happened, I had to call back on the Monday to get a refund. read more

TERRIBLE place! After paying close to $1,000 in lessons, my daughter is not close to being ready for the road test. The instructors are awful, and the customer service is non-existent. Only reason I used this place is because my daughter's school uses them. Now I need to go pay for lessons at a driving school that does what it's supposed to do. Stay away!! read more

My daughter, Amber N just passed her road test today - 1st try. She was in the Driver's Ed program at Ft Hamilton HS. She had Mr Ron who she said was a great instructor, very patient and very nice. I have also called the office a few times and the people I spoke to were all very nice and helpful. I will be purchasing a few highway lessons for her when she is ready. I feel her experience was very positive and it definitely gave her strong skills and confidence to be a very good, safe driver. read more

Horrible school. The staff is very rude and does not care about their customers. I had these instructors cancel on me or move my lesson multiple times without letting me know until the last minuet. The instructors flip out when I make a small mistake and they make me anxious at the wheel. Go somewhere else. read more

Not a good experience. I had to call, call, call, call....only to be constantly pushed off with an excuse. They ended up finally scheduling 2 lessons in a row with a 3rd right before the road test. My son unfortunately failed the road test then Autonautics would not respond to any follow up emails. Bad service from start to finish. read more

I got my license with Autonautics! Yay! My journey of obtaining a license was long and arduous. I'm in my 30's and had zero driving experience prior so when I started taking lessons, I was very nervous. I first took lessons with Lama Driving School and signed up for their 7 lesson package. Their instructors only made me feel even more nervous with each lesson. Instead of staying calm and being attentive, their instructors would, for example, get upset and say, "Why would you do that?!" in a dramatic manner when I looked left and right while driving past an intersection. They would also talk on the phone during the lesson. I drove 4 different cars and each car had their own kinks, so it was very hard for me to get a hang of actually learning how to drive. Their cars were also poorly maintained. On top of that, all of their instructors had a very thick accent that many times, I had to ask them to repeat themselves. I needed an alternative solution. Now that you know what to avoid in a driving school, this is where Autonautics comes in. A friend told me about Autonautics and she only had nice things to say about them. I contacted them, spoke with one of their staff, Chrissy, and was able to make an appointment with Anthony. Anthony was a great instructor. Most importantly, he was calm. He walked me through each step and corrected any mistakes I made. I've taken about 10 lessons with him and each time, it was the same car, a Honda Accord that was about 2-3 years old. That made it a lot easier to focus on my techniques. Even though I didn't pass until the 3rd time, I had no one else to blame but myself. At the first road test, I actually went with another instructor. Turned out her car had an expired inspection sticker so the examiner didn't allow me to take the test using that car [of course]. She called another instructor for me to use his car, a Hyundai that I had never driven before. That, along with the fact that my nerves got the best of me, I didn't realize there were 2 gears in drive (it didn't have D1 or D2), and apparently I was on the low gear the whole time and the examiner told me towards the end. I pretty much failed because my uncontrollable nerves made it seem like I was uncomfortable behind the wheel. At the second road test, everything was going buttery smooth until I backed up a little too much while parallel parking and hit the curb. Automatic fail. The examiner told me, "You were doing so well until you hit the curb. You did everything just fine." What killed me was that it was a mistake I never did during all of my practice sessions. Well, now I know exactly what to look out for and not to do. Autonautics said that the next earliest road test was at least 1.5 months away. Chrissy offered to wait a couple days to see if there were any cancellations so she can get me in earlier. And that they did! Instead of 1.5 months, now it was in 2 weeks. Anthony and I did a couple more lessons beforehand and boom! I passed. He told me to just relax and focus on each single move and not to think too much, especially past failed road tests. I kept that advice in my mind and succeeded. Thank you, Anthony! read more

This driving school is something else. They have atrocious customer service, they basically forget about you. The driving instructors don't get in touch with you like they should, this entire school is unprofessional. The only good this about my experience with autonautics was my third driving instructor Susan. After two of my previous instructors were barely there I was assigned to her and she was just the absolute best and was always there for me. Other than that I would advise you to go to a different school. read more

Did the 10 lesson package which included the 5-hour class and road test. One would think the five hour class is an annoying requirement, but this school did a great job making it engaging. There was a hand out with short quizzes to help test our information retention after the videos, and we got to keep it after the class. It was helpful to point out the types of signs by color and sizes. The car I practiced in was a 2014-5 model Honda Accord with good controls. Nothing felt worn out, made me want it as a first car! My instructor Anthony was fantastic, extremely encouraging and helpful in working with me me to fix my mistakes before I developed bad habits. Helped me gain confidence behind the wheel, I appreciated that he didn't apply the second brake often and would rather verbally tell me which let me have control of the vehicle to fix mistakes. As someone with a full time job and other obligations, I really appreciated the punctuality and flexibility around scheduling. A lesson for 9am started at 9am, and this school does pick up and drop back off at location (for me it was home). I did fail my first road test, but MOST people do... Anthony helped me maintain my confidence in driving and we worked on the items I got points off for. Really appreciated his help working on FIXING YOUR PARKING because you're not going to get it perfect every time. I passed on my next try. Driving takes practice and work, I'm glad I had Autonautic's instruction and support. I would recommend the school and Anthony as an instructor. read more

Was scheduled to take my road test with these guys twice. Both times my lesson was "cancelled" the morning of the test. Never got an answer why, apparently my name was never on the list for the first time, and "someone" called in the morning of my 2nd appointment and cancelled. Annoying the first time. Incredibly frustrating the second time, especially after paying for more lessons. Honestly don't know if these guys have their sh*t together. read more

Anthony is the best driving instructor! He patiently shows you everything, you need to know about driving. If you want to listen to some good music, and relax while learning how to drive, book him! My first experience with a driving instructor was scary and I didn't learn a thing.. I then scheduled 3 lessons through autonautics and I received Marie as my instructor.. She was an AMAZING teacher and had a great way of teaching.. She taught me well enough for me to have confidence behind the wheel and I was finally able to pass my road test! I recommend everyone to request her as your instructor.. I promise you, you will love the way she teaches and you will feel 110% more confident and comfortable in a car after your first lesson with her! Thank you again Autonautics and Marie!!! read more

I wish I could give no stars. Awful driving school. My high school hired them for group lessons for juniors and seniors. I know of one person who passed their first time. Complete waste of $400. We definitely did not get the 20 hours of practice that our certificates claim, as our weekly lessons lasted about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes, split between four students. Those who drove "well" got about 10 minutes. Instructors barely spoke English and rode the dual brake so we never even had control over the car. Often arrived late for lessons. Go to any other school. Most people I know did, and passed the next time around. read more

Both my sons went to Autonautics and had a great experience. They had Constantine as their driving and lecture instructor. They practiced everything they needed to know for the road test. Possibly the worst experience with a driving school ever. They gave me false information about the amount of time I had to have my permit before I could take my road test, leading me to take all my classes only to find I couldn't take the test for another four months. I told them to reschedule my road test because I was going to be out of town, and was told that it was changed, but it never was. Now, three months later, my road test is still scheduled for a day that I won't even be in same state, and the lady I spoke to about this keeps trying to convince me I'm the one who is wrong. read more

This company was suggested by my high school and I don't see why. It's a terrible company. The driver knew nothing and he arrived late and then told me I wasn't on the list. I was then left in the rain when my group and I were scheduled for that day. I will now not have my completed hours for driving for which I paid $500 for. The driver didn't even seem like a good driver he was halfway onto the sidewalk. The company messed up my schedule. This was definitely a waste of time. read more

I also wish i could give no stars. We thought we were lucky because we got the school's owner, Gus, as an instructor, but our child got about 10 mins driving per class. They started parallel parking only 3 days before the end of the course. When we drove with him, he lacked basic skills like adjusting side mirrors and using blinkers and said the instructor never had them do this. He was also terrified to change lanes because they had never practiced it. Gus gave him no feedback for the first month, which he interpreted as a sign that he thought our kid was a good driver. Gus's later comments mostly involved telling him to slow down. He discussed music with the kids and asked them to make him CDs. He reassured them the road test was easy as long as they didn't hit the curb while parking, but only 4 of 20 Autonautics kids passed the day we were there. Needless to say, my child did not pass, and rightly so, even though he did not hit the curb. He flunked on basics like "observational skills, braking, judgement". Use any other company. Dalton should ban them from their parking lot! read more
