My car wouldn't start across the parking lot so I went over to ask for help and maybe get a new battery. Sergio walked across the lot, jumped it with the portable jumper, and then had me drive over so he could tighten a bolt that was loose on my battery. Once that was done he even tested the charge to make sure it wouldn't happen again. He truly went above and beyond and I so appreciate him being completely honest about what was going on and not scamming me into a new battery! I had to go into AutoZone yesterday to purchase a battery for my grandpa's car. His car wouldn't start (had to jump it) - it's an older model Mercedes, so happy they had the battery in stock. Ethan came out to test the battery and we learned it wasn't the battery but the alternator. I'm not familiar with cars, so Ethan explained what was actually going on. We ended up not purchasing the battery but left with great advice. The Manager on duty was accommodating and answered my questions. I came in today to purchase a pair of windshield wipers for my vehicle, employees were very nice and showed me the different types they have to offer, I went with Bosch as they are quite reliable and the San Diego weather has been less then par. As I purchase I head out to the parking lot to install them, getting my old ones off was a breeze, getting the new ones on was everything but. Scott on his lunch break saw me struggling and offered his assistance, within 30seconds the wipers were swapped and I was ready to go. Wow! The husband got his tire with a nail patched up at Firestone. While there, they discovered that he had a dead headlight. They said $57 to fix it. I said hold up and let me call around. I asked in a local Facebook mom group where this could be done and if $57 was the going rate. Called Autozone for the part and headed there to pick it up and head to Midas who I called and said it could be $20-50 to fix. Before getting there, I noticed the other vehicle's backlight bulbs were dead too. Got there, purchased all lights for under $18. The guy behind the counter asked if I wanted him to see if he could change it out. I said sure. They said with some cars, it's easy and with some, it's not. They would have to look. If easy, they'll do it. Both my vehicles were under the "easy" category after he looked at them. And guess what? It was all said and done in under 30 minute for both vehicles AND it was free. Grateful to Autozone and their young employee. At the end of the day, my post in that mom group got 2 responses. One said YouTube it and the other Google it. Just wow. I went in to get my battery checked, stood there for a few minutes no greeting or response from the employees as they rummaged a tool box. When I asked if I should wait inside he said "do whatever you want". I needed my battery tested which he gave up on after having a difficult time connecting the clamp and said he couldn't do it. I purchased a Battery for my car when I lived in Washington state over two years ago. Recently my battery has been dead twice. I couldn't find my paperwork on purchase. In fact I couldn't remember exactly which parts store I bought it at. I had stopped at Or******s and they didn't have one in stock. Going home I saw a Auto Zone " I'll check on a price" I was asked for my phone # he thank Mr. Ba*** I see your battery right here he said he did not have one in stock but he would check it out. He put the meter on it and it had 2 bad cells. He said I can have a new one for you by tomorrow. I said order one out. I said to him I don't get my Social Security check till Monday (two days away) he looks at me and says Mr. Ba*** there is no charge it's all covered 100%. When I went to check out the gentleman at the counter Sergio made sure I had the correct product which I did not and at the best price as they had a few to chose from. Friendly and quick service on the second visit. The first visit a few days ago it took a while for them to decide who was going to check me out. Must have been a shift change. On the second visit yesterday I needed to exchange a car battery under their warranty. Mira Mesa location had called over and when I got to Poway everything was ready to go and the whole transaction took 2 minutes. It was quick, professional, and the parts were in stock. I'd recommend them. (Smaller store but seems well stocked. Probably well-stocked because there is a competing Kragen across the street in the other mall.) Very good location, which is why I come here. The staff is why I gave them a 3 star because they are not very "nice" - customer service isn't their strong skill set. I find myself buying multiple types of items because they are not specific. ie: oil filter removal caps are sized A-D but do not give their flutes or diameter so you're playing a guessing game. When I brought the other items back that didn't work, the parts manager glared at me even though I've spent a ton of money in their shop. In addition, he had the same oil spotted shirt on several days in a row. No small oil spots but huge spots. After my return, I asked to recycle oil and he said "tanks full". No hesitation. I went one shopping complex over to a competitor and they had theirs emptied days ago... I find it hard to believe they are less than 500 yards away and they're on different emptying schedules... The cars needed an oil change.. Now normally.. I'd just either go to the dealer.. or to some EZ-Lube.. or something like that.. But.. hubby is resourceful and has always changed his own car's oil.. so now that we're married.. he decided to change mine as well.. We came in here and from the moment we stepped in.. the guy behind the counter was so very, very helpful.. he really knew his cars and what we needed for the oil changes.. Hubby had the easiest time buying what we needed.. I went back to the car to sit down before the transaction was done.. but I do know that the guy did help hubby out to the car with the purchase.. I worked at this store and just recently quit due to many issues with this store... Its and over all terrible place to both work their and get parts there. Half of the staff just help to get you out of their face. I worked there for half a year I can tell you they straight up don't care about there employees or customers and here is why: SUMMARY: If you don't want to read about the specifics below here is a sum up of everything: A majority of workers there (especially the managers) are disrespectful, rude, and not trustworthy. They say that they price match when you can clearly buy your parts for cheaper at other places or online. In the time that I worked there they were very unhelpful for me as a coworker so why would they treat customers the same way. The managers don't care about your needs. Instead they are very selfish. Side note: As far as sales this store is in dead last compared to 110 other Autozone stores. There stats show because of how they treat their over all customers. CUSTOMER SERVICE: I tried helping people and I ether got interrupted by my own staff or was told no we can't help them in front of the customer when I clearly was able to and did it anyway. (This happened twice as far as being told no we can't help) One time it took me half an hour to help a lady install her battery that was under the passenger seat only because the previous owner put some sort of cementing glue on it and I had to pry it out with a screw driver. Once I finished I went back in my coworkers complained about how long I took even though the lady was very thankful. Keep in mind this happened around 4-5 times in half a year that I worked there. EMPLOYMENT: Before I started working after getting hired it took me every day for 3 weeks to call them about trying to get me started because they were taking to long on finishing my paper work. I was about to give up and find another job. They told me when I first started that they're flexible with hours when they clearly aren't. I had an issue with trying to get Sunday's off for religious purposes for a good 2-3 weeks. They told me I needed a hand written note from my pasture which I thought was crap. I gave up and reached out to HR and they had the regional manager have a chat with my boss. The only day I called out sick was 4 hours in advance to my shift and they tried writing me up. I had to fight it. When I got another job my manager had an attitude about me cutting my hours with autozone super short and gave me the worst shifts possible on top of days I was already working. I clearly told them on my last week that I couldn't make my Friday and Saturday shift because I was already working with my other job that day. They scheduled me anyways so I straight up quit because I was done dealing with the disrespect just for a minimum wage job. So not worth it. Over all I highly suggest shopping at other auto parts stores and definitely down apply here as a job. read more

I ordered a part for my car. I was told that it would come in the day after. So the next day I call and they told me I can come in and pick it up. And when I got there they guy said he had to put it in the system or whatever, and he said it with attitude. I don't understand why you couldn't give me my part that I paid hundreds for. It was literally sitting on the table and all he was saying was that he just got there. So basically wasted a hour waiting in traffic since it was the day of the poway parade. It was so frustrating because it messed up my whole day. I'd rather go to another part store if you guys are gonna screw me over like that. The only good part of the experience was that the other worker there helped me figure out what was the problem with the car. But anyways it was a horrible and stressful experience. I recommend not tell your customers they can pick up there parts if they have to wait another couple hours just to count it or put it in the system or whatever read more
