Hello, yelpers! I have recently been experiencing malfunctions within my car's automatic key. I took a trip into AutoZone on Blue Ravine in Folsom, CA and Jimmy G and Dan were more than willing to help me. They took off the key's top, inserted the new battery, and handed it over to me with a smile. Not only this, but they also got the job done effectively and in a matter of minutes. Jimmy G and Dan only charged me for the part that I needed; I was not charged for the time and service it took for them to do it for me. I greatly appreciate their efforts to get the job done and the fact that they did it all with a huge grin on their face, as well as making polite conversation, rather than attempting to quickly whisk me out of their hair. With this said, I would definitely head back to AutoZone and work with Jimmy G and/or Dan in the future, and you should too! read more

Best customer service ever at an auto parts store. As i was walking in to get windshield repair kit, held door open for an employee who was coming in from outside. He asked on the way in "is there anything i can help you find". I told him and was taken right to the spot on the shelf. Answered all my questions, went to check out and someone walked over just to ring me up. I thought i was at a high end dealership! Employees were slow to assist even after being called for by a manager. I couldn't tell if they were sleeping in the back or what. Actually, I don't really care. I had to make a credit card return and they insisted that I come in to the store to cancel it. I know that this is not required otherwise how would online stores work? They could have canceled the order over the phone. The parts ordering system had incorrect parts listed. The parts were over 50% more expensive at AutoZone than they are online. The part I ordered was about $100 dollars and it had to be shipped to the store. I went home and found the same part for less than half and it got it overnighted for free! If anyone remembers what Amazon did to brick and mortar books they'll know the fate of brick and mortar auto parts stores. Do yourself a favor and just order the parts online. Most of the time you can get free shipping or even next day delivery. read more

I frequently visit this store. What I like is I can always get my part without standing in line. The staff are knowledgeable and provide good service. Their prices are reasonable and if you need a hand with something on your car they'll help you out. Highly recommend this store. read more

I can't say enough about this AutoZone. I always get excellent service and help! Tonight for example, I was unable to remove my key from my ignition. This was causing me to have a minor freakout as I could not remove the key or lock the car. After sitting in my car attempting to remove the key, then googling how to remove stuck key in ignition, then texting my guy friends, I came up with the genius idea to take it to Autozone. I walked in and got helped very quickly by Nathan. He was super helpful and was able to remove the key. Thanks Nathan! This is just one of few times that I've been helped by the workers at AutoZone. We're getting into the rainy season, and I needed new wipers for my car. I went to AutoZone in Folsom. When I asked about the rear wiper, he looked it up on his computer and said they didn't have it. I asked if there was a generic one. He came out to my Durango with me and looked at it. He explained there was no way to remove the wiper. I had to remove the entire assembly to replace the blade, and would need to go to the dealer for that. I thought that strange, so later I looked at the manual and found removing the blade was as simple as lifting up the arm and pulling it straight out. So I returned to AutoZone. I spoke to the same employee, showed him the wiper, and again asked if they could get a replacement. He looked it up again, and again said no, they weren't available and I would need to go to the dealer. I left and drove over to O'Reilly Auto Parts. I showed an employee the blade, he walked over to their rack of blades and grabbed me the EXACT match. It wasn't a generic replacement, it was identical. The low rating for AutoZone isn't because they didn't have the blade, it's because twice they told me a blatant lie. If a customer asks a question you don't know the answer to, don't make something up, just tell them you don't know. read more

On New Year's weekend; when most shops were closed, my Mercedes check engine light came on and the engine started running really rough: After calling all over the county I surrendered to the fact I was going to have to wait until Jan 2 to take it in. Looking on line I saw that Autozone had scanners so I went down and they loaned it to me AND taught me how to use it. I'm not a mechanic but as it turned out; with the magic of YouTube and the spot on advice from the guys behind the counter I fixed the car myself! It cost me around $58 - I'm sure it would have cost me $$$hundreds had I taken it in. Yea, Auto Zone Folsom -my new favorite store! read more

Been here many times in the last week. They really do go out of your way to be helpful and to treat you like a person. I don't trust many shops but this one has won me over. Special thanks to the gentlemen this morning who stopped me from paying 53 bucks for 4qt of oil and got me 5 qt and a filter for 30 bucks. read more

I went in there today to purchase a Mercedes battery. The sales person assured me it was the right one. They told me they could not install it because it was a Mercedes and took longer requiring additional steps. This was fine with me. I took it to Speedy Lube in Folsom where I also had my oil change today and they told me they would replace the battery. After waiting for about 20 min or so, they came to tell me I was sold the wrong size and the battery was dead. Even though speedy lube did not want to charge me for attempting to replace, I gave they a $20 tip anyways since it is a Sunday and the crew there are more than helpful. I went back to the same sales person and informed him I was sold a dead battery and the wrong size. I asked twice if this happens often. NO answer just a sour face. He told me he will refund my money since they did not have another battery which he did refund. Says that the computer put out the info on the battery compatibility and is sometimes wrong.What's missing here??? I simple courtesy apology for the inconvenience. That's all. I didn't expect more. All I got was ignored to a question I gave it happened often, a sour face and no apology. I don't think the other employees have the same attitude but this guys got to go. I will contact the owners or manager. read more

I went in as a customer although I am a previous employee looking to exchange a part that was for a f150 not a f250. I remember the transaction perfectly because Dan checked me out and pulled the parts. The transaction took place before my employment. When I first walked in there was Dan and Christopher standing at the front door smoking. The entire store smelt like smoke because they had a screwdriver wedged in the door to hear the phones. I waited countless minutes with absolutely no attention given to me. I'm in the store, the only one in the store while the Manager and assistant manager is outside smoking. At first I really really looked up to Dan. When I finally got help after standing at the counter while they were out having smokes, I clearly smelt alcohol on Dan. I asked Dan plain as day "are you drunk?" He replied you need to leave my fucking store. I was completely caught off guard because I was not at all being a smart ass. I called Folsom PD and they told me it was an internal issue. I have since tried to remedy this problem of an incorrect part with s different autozone store and they all tell me I must do the exchange at the Folsom autozone which is not true. So this tie rod is for a f250 not an f250, which I have a f250. The tie rod is identical in shape but is not near the size in circumference and looking at the part it's clear that it's for a lighter duty truck. An f150 is not rated to do the big jobs unlike a f250. I guess they're eyes will open when the tie rod snaps because its absolutely not rated for this truck. I have literally parked my truck the last four months because of this. It's not that I can't afford to buy the correct tie rod. Its the principle that the part should of never been sold to me. I bought two tie rods and a drag link that day. The other parts were much larger than that one tie rod. I thought nothing of it until Les Scwabb called me saying they can't align my truck and why. read more

I went in to buy interior lights for my Honda Civic. Gary was the gentleman who helped me. He was so patient and sweet. He started up a conversation with me about my tattoos, so we shared a few tattoo stories. I told him I was prior law enforcement when I got my tattoos. And he thanked me for my service and shook my hand which surprisingly caught me off guard. I also thanked him for his service in the military. It was just so sweet of him to take the time to care and have a conversation with someone. I miss the days when there was genuine good customer service. I felt like Gary went above and beyond, and I would definitely want to go back to that specific location just because of him. Thank you Gary! read more

These guys are amazing. Every time I need something, they take the time to help me find it, explain whatever I needed to know how to do on my car. They have come out and actually showed me stuff on my car and how check a bunch of stuff on my new car when I couldn't figure it out. The guys and women who work there have a wealth of knowledge. I stopped in today to purchase a new head light and new wipers. I ask the gentleman helping me if the head light was difficult to install. He said he would take a look and would install it if he could. Not only did he install the light, but put on the new wipers. Well I was floored! How wonderful is that! Absolutely awful. I went in looking for non synthetic oil and two different employees had no idea what I was talking about. I asked for some help, and everyone looked confused as all hell. I overheard one employee tell another to tell me that "all the oils that say synthetic are actually non synthetic." I'm no mechanic but I do know that putting the wrong oil in a car can result in serious issues and potentially become deadly. And while I was there, a customer came in looking for help with their battery and the employee said he wasn't allowed to leave his station, which is funny because I have had employees come out to my car multiple times to help me. I'm incredibly disappointed in the lack of service I had, especially because they are normally very helpful. Who knows, maybe they hired a bunch of morons to run the store. read more

I came here to replace my front blinker and license plate lights. But when we opened up the hood to replace the front blinker, I noticed there was MAJOR corrosion on the battery. I went inside and requested a battery test from one of the workers. He tried to get a read out but the corrosion was so bad that he said I should just replace the battery before it got worse. After many failed attempts to unscrew the terminals from the battery, he tried to think of other solutions. The easiest would be to replace the terminals and he said he would be willing to do it for me. He ended up cutting the cables so the terminals would be left on the corroded battery, replacing the terminals, and installing the battery for me. He made sure all the corrosion was gone and gave me tips on corrosion prevention. It was quite the job and very much appreciated! Very helpful workers here! read more

GREAT Customer Service, Fast, and Knowledgeable!! I went in because my car battery failed a test at the dealership, was going to cost ~$150 for replacement at dealer. But I remember purchasing a battery from Auto Zone some time back and thinking of warranty period. Robert at Auto Zone was so helpful! Did battery test, alternator test, and also a bigger load battery test and yes, confirmed "bad battery" and confirmed battery was indeed within full replacement warranty! Free battery replacement for me!! Yeah! Saved $150! He offered two options, option 1 Auto Zone to replace battery right on the spot or option 2 I take the battery to install it at home. I chose option 1 since I have NO idea how to but observed the process so I will know later on. Robert talked through the replacement process and now next time I know what to do! Entire Auto Zone visit took less than 20 minutes and I was on my way! Keep up the good work! read more

Bought 2 liters of oil and 2 filters yesterday. An associate gave me a standard filter (when I paid for the extended life) and a completely wrong one with that. I didn't notice until I was in the middle of changing oil on one of my cars so I just used the standard low mileage one for that then came back and was given a $.61 refund when I was overcharged by $7 and that's assuming I received the right filters in the first place. After repeatedly showing them how their receipt works and how they owe me more money I just got a "sorry man I don't know what to tell you. That's just how the computer is showing me." That was also the first sorry I got in the whole process. Everyone always jokes about how bad the service and intelligence is at autozone but this is the first time I have felt ripped off by the jokers. Closer to me than oreilys and Walmart but I won't be returning here. Don't waste your time and money go to Walmart if you know what you need or go to oreilys if you want convienece. 0 stars. read more
